Course Curriculum Overview

2

Biotechnology is a highly demanding course in today's world. The syllabus for this course is mostly around bookish knowledge and you have to gather outside knowledge on your own. There must be an internship for every student arranged by department itself in various other institues or labs for practical work experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

The admission fee for m.sc biotech was 22710 and after that every semester fee is 20000. No scholarship from university is available. And the theke takes 300 rupees for registration also. There is a student fees concession but anyone with government scholarship can't avail this facility.

Campus Life

3

Campus is very pretty. University staffs are soft spoken, helpful and kind. But the department politics is harsh and really worst for a student's academic growth. The hod is a real good human. Some professor are also good but they don't get enough resources for them to give proper exposure to the students.

Admission

I didn't want to drop that year and my family pressured me to join thin university. Otherwise I would have never. My suggestion will be if you have choice please don't come to burdwan university biotech department.

Faculty

1

Faculty staffs are well qualified but there is too much favouritism happening all over. Lab assistants are very helpful and kind though. Professors mainly tell their research scholars to teach all the practical works to the students. 4th semester dissertation paper is really make or break thing here where professors do the most favouritism. Some other professors just make students work like labours for their paper publications and don't even help or acknowledge them.

Night Life

3

As I don't live in hostel I can't properly tell about the night situation. As from my friends this much I know that the lights are broken in some places and more security is the most needed thing at this moment.

Other Applied Colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

My decision to choose this course depended on the fact that this course provides you with the opportunity to get various jobs in the industries with a high lpa. But this college does not help much in that aspect. All I had to do was myself. It is my humble opinion that the institution should improve its guidance in the area of its teaching methods. The exams were twice a year and were quite difficult on their own.

From the 2nd last semester, that is the final year, students become eligible for campus placements. Last year, two of our seniors got placed at Reborn Child Development Centre (Durgapur and Asansol) with an average package of Rs 200,000. This year, three students of our batch, including me, got an internship for three months at Reborn through an in-person interview.
