Department of Geography of Adamas University: A hidden Gem

The depertment offers Skill development, Geoinformatics and Remote sensing courses. Department has a strong foundation in core geography topics and expouser to research methods through dissertation project.

Internship is mandatory for all students to gain first hand experience in the industry. Duration of the internship - 1 to 3 months Summer and Winter internship is available. Career Development Cell of Adamas University takes initiatives to search for internships for students otherwise students also can search for internship on their own.

From 3rd semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies: Marvel Geospatial, Cybertech, Cyberswift etc. The Highest package is offered by Cybertech (15,00,000) Average package: 5,00,000

Annual fees 86000 (MSc in Geography) Department of Geography takes initiative for the students to get scholarships offered by Govt.Of India and Govt. Of West Bengal. In the time of admission if a student scores above 80% in AUAT (Adamas University Admission Test), 50% of the semester fees will be deducted from the student's first semester fees.

Technical fest: GSTEO A wide range of books are available in the library Since 2022 the department has purchased the license of Arc GIS, Arc GIS pro, ERDAS Imagine. Apart from the licensed softwares we have Qgis, Saga GIS, HEC -RAS and HEC -HMS

Two Girls' Hostel and one Boy's Hostel are there inside the campus. For the girls - A/C and Non A/C rooms are available (Double bed, Tripple bed) For the boys - A/C and Non A/C rooms are available ( Single bed, Double bed, Tripple bed.)

Eligibility: 80% marks attained in the Undergraduate Program. Continuous class assesments are held in every week. Per semester one final exam is held by the Universities. Application form is available in the official website.

The department boasts a team of eight faculty members. They have experties in human geography, medical tourism, urban planning, fluvial geomorphology,hydrology and disester management. This range allows students to explore various facets.
