Amity University Kolkata is a private university established in 2015. It is one of the 10 campuses of the Amity Group in India. It has been ranked 101st by the IIRF and (101-150) by NIRF under the engineering category in 2024. It offers various programs in Architecture, Commerce, Design, Arts, Engineering, Fashion, Law, Management, etc, at UG, PG & Doctorate levels.

The university offers B.Tech as its flagship program, and admission to this program is based on scores in Class 12^th; however, it also accepts national-level entrance examinations such as JEE Main/ CUET. Amity University Kolkata Admission 2025

Admission to all courses at Amity University Kolkata is merit-based. However, the university also accepts various national-level entrance exam scores such as JEE Main, CLAT, CAT, XAT, NMAT, GATE, NATA, etc. Students must appear for a Personal Interview for the final selection. Amity University Admission to various programs is given below-

Amity University offers admission in two categories: sponsored and non-sponsored. Non-sponsored seats are usually given to students with high merit who meet the required eligibility and cutoffs. Sponsored seats are for students with lower merit; their eligibility criteria and cutoffs are slightly relaxed, but they have to pay higher fees compared to non-sponsored students.
Both Indian and foreign students can apply through Amity University's official website, as the entire application process is done online. The application fee for Indian applicants is INR 1,500. Students can apply for multiple courses, but they need to fill out a separate application form for each program.

Amity University Kolkata Scholarships 2025

Amity Kolkata offers scholarships based on certain eligibility criteria, up to a 100% waiver on 1st semester fees. Amity University Kolkata Scholarships for its UG programs are given below-

Please Note:

Fast Track Admission without appearing in the Admission Selection Process.
Scholarship in academic fees for the first year of the program will be offered to the candidates of class XII, appeared in the year 2024 & 2025.
Fast Track Admission cum-Scholarship is not applicable for the programs of Architecture / Design / Education/ Fine Arts / Fashion / Law / Physical Education / Pharmacy / Performing Arts / Visual Arts, and Special Education. Scholarship will be granted on verification of documents after joining the program.
Aggregate percentage will be calculated based on marks scored in English & three academic subjects (compulsorily including subjects of eligibility AND excluding Physical Education, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, or any Vocational/Non-Written subjects). These subjects will only be considered for their respective/select programs.
Limited Scholarship seats are available, which will be offered after joining the program.
Students will be required to pay the full fees initially. The excess amount accruing due to the scholarship will be adjusted against payment for Semester II.

Continuation of Scholarship

Scholarship is granted on an annual basis for the first year, and continuation of the scholarship in the second and subsequent years will be governed by the scholarship policy of AUUP, Noida.

If candidates withdraw their name after staying over a month but less than three months, only half of the hostel fee for the academic year + security deposit will be refunded.

Classrooms are well maintained and of decent size
The library is actually the best place in the entire campus
There is a lot of greenery throughout the campus and is good in terms of cleanliness

The class timings is something which almost everyone dislikes
The exam schedule and holiday lists can be provided a bit early for the students
The canteen has only veg food available and is also not up to the mark

Student view on course curriculum

The curriculum is relevant, including not only the contents of computer science, but also of all engineering. All the major topics and subjects are covered. It is also constantly tested with continuous assessment, mid sem and end sem exams.

Placement provided by the college

The placements here are not really bad it all actually depends on the students and how good there preparation is . The college offers its students to sit for placement after following some basic conditions

Yearly fees structure and scholarship

The fees is pretty affordable compared to other private colleges. We are charged almost 1.2 lacs per semester, with the price increasing by about 5000 per year. The complete cost comes around 13 to 14 lacs for 4 years. The hostel is an extra 1.2 lacs per year. There are multiple scholarship options which can be easily searched online. Even if one is not eligible for scholarship at the start, with enough merit, one can earn upto 30% scholarship.

College fest and various activities

Our college holds many events every semester, including Amiphoria, the main annual event which invites multiple personalities. It is usually held in February - March. The library provides almost all the books required throughout the educational journey. The classrooms have AC, charging ports, projectors, etc. We also have multiple clubs where one can join to increase their skills and networking.

Hostel facilities provided by the college

The hostel facility is good here. Each rooms are provided with AC, beds, cupboards, table, chair, including other things. The room and bathroom is cleaned everyday. The meal quality is good, but it is not included in the cost of hostel.

Admission process of the college

The admission process was pretty simple, including filling an online form and submitting a video interview. From my friend's recommendation, I found out about the eligibility criteria and applied online. The video interview consisted of 3 questions all relating to the course contents of classes 11 and 12.

The university offers MBA scholarship based on performance in Class XII and Graduation. Amity Kolkata also considers National Level Examinations like CAT and MAT for offering MBA scholarships. The student must have studied Class XII from CBSE/ ISC/ State Board. The table given below shows the eligibility criteria for Amity University Kolkata Scholarship:

Amity University Kolkata Sports Scholarship

Amity University Kolkata sports scholarship is available for candidates who have shown an exemplary performance in the field of sports. The beneficiary of this scholarship should not be more than 23 years of age. The students under this scholarship are also eligibile for Fast Track Admission i.e. such candidates do not have to appear for sports trial and interview, and their admission will be based upon the application form and assessment of last three years sports certificate. The table given below shows the Amity University Kolkata sports scholarship highlights:

Amity University Kolkata Scholarship Guidelines

The students should be aware regarding the following points while applying for Amity Kolkata scholarships:

The scholarship is granted in the first year of the course, and the continuation of scholarship in subsequent years depend upon the scholarship policy.
For availing 100% scholarship, the student have to secure a rank in top 5% of the merit list.
For availing 50% scholarship, the student have to secure a rank in top 10% of the merit list.
There should be no year gap between Class XII and Graduation.
The aggreate percentage of Class XII will be calculated based on best four academic subjects (English + 3 Subjects), exculding Physical Education/ Fine Arts/ Performing Arts/ Vocational/ Non-Written subjects.
Once a student is selected for a scholarship, he/she has to visit the admission office with original marksheets for scholarship grant lastest by October 31 of the year of admission.

The female bathrooms are very clean and usable

Dislikes

The staff can be kind of unhelpful and rude sometimes and they don't treat the parents right.
The lifts do not work and that's a huge problem
The classrooms are big but sometimes when the class is full the chairs feels less

Admission:

I got accepted to all private colleges which had psychology but I chose amity because they give you the freedom and to some people it might feel that amity is a fashion show but no, our hoi is very strict about it The campus is very spacious but climbing so many stairs without lift is VERY HARD. if only they could fix that I think everything would have been fine. The admission process for me was really easy and in the first classes a lot of students couldn't do their registrations but the teachers helped out a lot.

I have applied to DU and BHU. I got confirmed in BHU and some other colleges kolkata but I chose this college as it is providing much better faculties than other colleges and also the placements over here are better. The eligibility criteria is you have to score above 60% in physics, chemistry and college in 12th class boards .

I chose this college over other colleges as this college is known for great biotechnology placements that it offers.This college is better than other colleges in comparison of faculty members, infrastructure and events.I couldn't make it to other colleges for my incompatibility as my score was a bit low in CUET exams . The admission process over here is really simple as you will get admission in the merit of your 12th boards result. I applied to DU, BHU, and many other colleges through CUET and I have got confirmed admission from BHU and other colleges in my state such as CU , S. xaviers , etc but I chose this College as it has much nicer placements and better facilities of great facilities than other colleges. Yes, I got rejected from many college for my low scores in CUET . Admission process for admission in my college for my course is you can get admission easily in the merit of your class 12th boards exam result if you get more than 50% in physics, chemistry and biology together .

Likes

Our labs are too good , we get good hans on training in there.
College campus is too good, neat and clean and also well infrastructure.

Dislikes

My home is too far so it would difficult for me to cover daily 1.5 hours journey.
Sometimes we feel washroom are not properly clean, but when we complaint they listen and solve our problems.

Admission:

I choose this college because in Kolkata I visit so many college for taking addmission in Msc so I visit Amity University then I saw their lab that are too good all equipment are there and I also hear from senior that the faculty are too good they teach us well and amity University provide all the facilities we need so that's the main reason I choose Amity over another college. In Kolkata Amity University is the best private institutions.

There's no restrictions regarding outfit and you get a good exposure with lot of people and experiences
Infrastructure is quite good with all the facilities and free wifi

Admission:

I didn't apply for any other colleges though I thought of Adamas and Heritage. But I got to know since the last few years only marketing placements are being provided by the other colleges which I wouldn't prefer in future being a btech biotechnology student. Amity has better opportunities and placements which I heard from my friends who were already studying. I was a dropper student and I didn't want to take one year of risk so J got into this college for partial drop so that even If I don't get , I would still have a good opportunity . Online forms need to get filled for admission and then there's a video upload interview type session which they take through a link.

You can apply online for the admission into the Amity University Kolkata. Admissions for 2024 are open at Amity University Kolkata for various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Amity University B.Tech admission is based on merit in AMITY JEE and JEE Mains. Candidates securing 80%+ aggregate in Class XII will be offered Direct Admission to all UG courses. Direct Admission is not applicable in Architecture/Design/Education/Fine Arts/Fashion/Law and Physical Education.
