Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal is a state university established in the year 2001 also known as MAKAUT. True story is I am want to study B.A English Honours, I have gone Government College to study then I realised if I have to study 3 year to graduate why I'm gonna study with no goal that's why I have chosen my suitable and interested subject Software Engineering So I choose BCA in low cost. Perfect for my financial situation.

Because this college is situated in a beautiful place, near kolkata airport.Here in this college placement is much better than other private colleges in the city. it has also a saltlake campus for BCA and BBA course

- The first thing that I like was the college placement records. Many students got placed with the average package of 7 lakhs. The highest package was 14 lacs and the minimum was 4 lakhs. Placement was record breaking.
- The second thing that I like the most was hostel life. Hostel was very clean and the food was also good. In hostel I made with many peoples and had a great Bond with them this was really helpful even for group studies.
Dislikes
- The thing that I hate the most was that the college was very far from the railway station. We need to travel around 45 minutes to 1 hour in order to reach the college main gate and the fair was also very high
- Second thing that I hate was weekend foods during night the quality was very bad incompered with the Early Times

So I applied for all the colleges which comes under WBJEE. There was some of the good colleges like Heritage, IEM, UE. Even I check for other colleges but paste on the WBC ranking I got admission in WBJEE

I choose this because it is a government college and comes after the jadavpur university in all colleges under the WBJEE if your GMR is between 1500-3000 you can easily get the admission in KGEC and one thing KGEC is 100% for the Domicile students that is you have to be a resident of west Bengal

From my personal experience of studying B.Tech at MAKAUT, here are some tips for freshers at this college-
- The curriculum at MAKAUT is age old, and you’ll be only taught the basics. So instead of just focusing on the syllabus, spend time learning online courses from platforms like Coursera and Edx, and obtain certifications in important areas.
- Give utmost importance to active programming, projects and real work.
- Do not depend upon your college for placements. Instead, upskill yourself through internships, research work, competitive programming competitions, hackathons, conferences, etc.
- Work hard from day 1, so that you can secure a good college for your higher studies (if you want to pursue MS, Phd, MBA, etc.) Good colleges do not necessarily mean IITs or IIMs. Instead, it means that the college gives you ample facilities and opportunities to grow in your field.
- Take good care of your physical and mental health. You’ll be disappointed with a lot of things on campus, but make it a point to never give up.
- Aptitude is important, but more important are technical skills. Your hiring company will seek employees who have a grasp of data analytics, machine learning, AI, natural language processing, etc.
- Whichever branch you study, give importance to mathematics and statistics, data-structures and algorithms.

- Get the college leaving certificate from your college first.
- Visit the official website of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, and find the link to migration.
- Make the required payment around 1020.
- Next, you need to fill in the application form with your basic details.

MAKAUT offers excellent learning resources to students. You can utilize the weekends to upskill yourself. If you are a software engineering student, you can learn various coding languages such as C, C++, Java, etc. Having knowledge of different coding languages can help you a lot during placements. If you are a student of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, you can learn Auto CAD. MAKAUT also offers the opportunity to learn other software such as MEP, CATIA, etc.
You can use the weekends to do internships or training as well. These will certainly add value to your resume. You can prepare for jobs by working on your communication skills, soft skills, personality management, etc. Many students also use the weekends to catch up with their hobbies.
Is it possible for recruiters to check if someone had a backlog in their 1st semester even after clearing it in the 3rd semester under MAKAUT?
Yes, they would carefully analyze the backlog even after you cleared it in the third semester. The certificate provided by MAKAUT clearly mentions the year of passing, which is a disadvantage for students with a backlog. Some companies give preference to students without a backlog; in such cases, you won’t be able to attend the interviews. But many giant recruiters are looking for the talent and skills of the candidate, not the mark list. Try to score a minimum of 60% in your academics, which is the basic eligibility requirement to appear for placement. So do not worry about your backlog and strive hard to clear it in the third semester itself.

You can not apply for admission to MAKAUT BCA on the basis of marks secured in the previous qualifying examination. You need to appear for and clear the Common Entrance Test conducted by the university itself for taking admission to the BCA.
No, you can not take admission to MAKAUT B.Tech. directly. The admission is totally entrance based. You need to clear WBJEE with valid cutoff scores for taking admission to B.Tech. in MAKAUT. The MAKAUT B.Tech. Cutoff is as follow according to the specialisations:
The MAKAUT B.Sc. Forensic Science admissions are not yet started. It is expected that the admissions will start soon in mid 2024 (June or July). The academics will begin in August 2024. The B.Sc. course is dividied into 6 semesters. The first semester will be from August to November 2024.
