From my personal experience of studying B.Tech at MAKAUT, here are some tips for freshers at this college- The curriculum at MAKAUT is age old, and you’ll be only taught the basics. So instead of just focusing on the syllabus, spend time learning online courses from platforms like Coursera and Edx, and obtain certifications in important areas. Give utmost importance to active programming, projects and real work. Do not depend upon your college for placements. Instead, upskill yourself through internships, research work, competitive programming competitions, hackathons, conferences, etc. Work hard from day 1, so that you can secure a good college for your higher studies (if you want to pursue MS, Phd, MBA, etc.) Good colleges do not necessarily mean IITs or IIMs. Instead, it means that the college gives you ample facilities and opportunities to grow in your field. Take good care of your physical and mental health. You’ll be disappointed with a lot of things on campus, but make it a point to never give up. Aptitude is important, but more important are technical skills. Your hiring company will seek employees who have a grasp of data analytics, machine learning, AI, natural language processing, etc. Whichever branch you study, give importance to mathematics and statistics, data-structures and algorithms. These are some tips from my end. I hope you follow them and have a memorable time at MAKAUT.

Here are a few simple steps you need to follow in order to get a MAKAUT migration certificate online. Get the college leaving certificate from your college first. Visit the official website of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, and find the link to migration. Make the required payment around 1020. Next, you need to fill in the application form with your basic details. During the additional time, you will be asked to attach some self-attested documents like a Registration certificate, Admit card for the final semester, Marksheet for the final semester, Aadhar card, and College Leaving certificate. Once done, hit the submit button after which you will receive the confirmation mail. You will receive the soft copy within 3 days and for the hard copy, you will have to visit the university personally.

If you are a student of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, you can learn Auto CAD. MAKAUT also offers the opportunity to learn other software such as MEP, CATIA, etc. You can use the weekends to do internships or training as well. These will certainly add value to your resume. You can prepare for jobs by working on your communication skills, soft skills, personality management, etc. Many students also use the weekends to catch up with their hobbies.

Q: Is it possible for recruiters to check if someone had a backlog in their 1st semester even after clearing it in the 3rd semester under MAKAUT?

Yes, they would carefully analyze the backlog even after you cleared it in the third semester. The certificate provided by MAKAUT clearly mentions the year of passing, which is a disadvantage for students with a backlog. Some companies give preference to students without a backlog; in such cases, you won’t be able to attend the interviews. But many giant recruiters are looking for the talent and skills of the candidate, not the mark list. Try to score a minimum of 60% in your academics, which is the basic eligibility requirement to appear for placement. So do not worry about your backlog and strive hard to clear it in the third semester itself.

Students view on course curriculum

The curriculum of this college is goodbut some are subjects that in b.tech curriculum is useless biology, economics, analog electronics, indian constitution. How these subjects help a computer science engineering students in future but others all the subjects are covered which a required cse departments

Internship opportunities provided by the college

The internship opportunities in our college is decent but not all the students are selected for the internship. The students who maintain 7.0 cgpa or have a great knowledge of coding languages such as javascript l, c++, java etc. They are selected for paid internship in 5th semester. In short if you do hard work then no one can stop your internship opportunities.

Companies recruiting from the campus, highest and average package being offered

The placements if makaut is 80% and the other 20% peole are opt of higher studies ir they are opt for off xampus placements. The highest of our university is 16 lpa and the average is 6lpa and the lowrst package that is offered is 4 lpa. The companies that vusit in our college is TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Deloitte, Cognizant, Cocentrix, pwc and other serviced based companies

Fees structure of the course

The total fee structure for makaut university is 232300 rupees. After 2022 the fees is not increased yet. In this total fee caution money 8000, examination fee 12000 l, per semester library fee 600, registration fee 500, development fee 2200, admission fee 4000 and semester fee 25000 for even sem and for odd sem 27800 is included

Events and clubs available in the college

The campus in our university is decent. Lot of clubs are such as sports club, photography club, robotics club, coding clib, google developer students club, fashion club. Many competitions such as sports competition, coding competition hackathon etc are always happening in the university and the prize money us also offered to the winner student. Their are 2 fests in the college in a tear

Hostel accommodation in the campus and its fees

Hostel facility according to money is decent because the university has charged only 12000 per year for hostel that is very cheap now a days the room is decent not great you can live in the room. 4 people share one room. Mess foid is terrible. They charged 2700 per month. I suggestbtifgin service is available near college you van ho for that for food

Faculty and evaluation criteria in campus

So, the faculty is not that great in this college they always blame students but didn't see their mistakes. They never complete syllabus befor end semester exams. Some of the faculty members are good they teach well but most of the teachers are not good. The teachers are not experienced most of the teachers temporary faculty they are doing internship and most teachers are still doing their phd. The teachers who are phd holders they teach very less number to the students. The semester exams of this university is very tuff because in 70 marks question they will 60 marks question just from ine module. Paper checkung procedure because it is a university the teachers who teach they check our copies so only 10% got back in exams.

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

I didn't go for other colleges because the fee structure of this college is very less as compared to other colleges such as IEM, NSEC, HERITAGE, HALDIA, TECHNO MAIN. The fee for b.tech very less and other reason is also that we can get admission in 7000 rank in wbjee as we compared jadavpur university their we want rank in 500 so then we get admission or kalyani government engineering college. The admission in this college is done wbjee counseling

I applied to a few other government engineering colleges but i ended up choosing JGEC.The main reasons: JGEC is a well established,fully government owned autonomous college,with good accreditation.It also has a long history since 1961,which made me trust its academic environment.Compared to other colleges i applied to ,JGEC felt more stable and credible.It also has a reasonable structure and good campus infrastructure,labs and oppurtunities for intership .There is also a good scope for higher studies like GATE.The marks vs rank went extremely high in WBJEE 2025.That's why i didn't get a college i applied for which is near my home. You can take admission by giving WBJEE and JELET only.As it is a government college you can only take admission if you get a good rank .There is also different cut-offs for diff catagory.The overall admission process is was very smooth and systematic.

From my personal experience of studying B.Tech at MAKAUT, here are some tips for freshers at this college-

The curriculum at MAKAUT is age old, and you’ll be only taught the basics. So instead of just focusing on the syllabus, spend time learning online courses from platforms like Coursera and Edx, and obtain certifications in important areas.
Give utmost importance to active programming, projects and real work.
Do not depend upon your college for placements. Instead, upskill yourself through internships, research work, competitive programming competitions, hackathons, conferences, etc.
Work hard from day 1, so that you can secure a good college for your higher studies (if you want to pursue MS, Phd, MBA, etc.) Good colleges do not necessarily mean IITs or IIMs. Instead, it means that the college gives you ample facilities and opportunities to grow in your field.
Take good care of your physical and mental health. You’ll be disappointed with a lot of things on campus, but make it a point to never give up.
Aptitude is important, but more important are technical skills. Your hiring company will seek employees who have a grasp of data analytics, machine learning, AI, natural language processing, etc.
Whichever branch you study, give importance to mathematics and statistics, data-structures and algorithms.

Get the college leaving certificate from your college first.
Visit the official website of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, and find the link to migration.
Make the required payment around 1020.
Next, you need to fill in the application form with your basic details.
During the additional time, you will be asked to attach some self-attested documents like a Registration certificate, Admit card for the final semester, Marksheet for the final semester, Aadhar card, and College Leaving certificate.
Once done, hit the submit button after which you will receive the confirmation mail.

If you are a student of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, you can learn Auto CAD. You can not apply for admission to MAKAUT BCA on the basis of marks secured in the previous qualifying examination. You need to appear for and clear the Common Entrance Test conducted by the university itself for taking admission to the BCA.

No, you can not take admission to MAKAUT B.Tech. directly. The admission is totally entrance based. You need to clear WBJEE with valid cutoff scores for taking admission to B.Tech. in MAKAUT. The MAKAUT B.Tech. Cutoff is as follow according to the specialisations:

The MAKAUT B.Sc. Forensic Science admissions are not yet started. It is expected that the admissions will start soon in mid 2024 (June or July). The academics will begin in August 2024. The B.Sc. course is dividied into 6 semesters. The first semester will be from August to November 2024.
