MAKAUT Affiliated Colleges

From my personal experience of studying B.Tech at MAKAUT, here are some tips for freshers at this college- 

1. The curriculum at MAKAUT is age old, and you’ll be only taught the basics. So instead of just focusing on the syllabus, spend time learning online courses from platforms like Coursera and Edx, and obtain certifications in important areas. 
2. Give utmost importance to active programming, projects and real work.
3. Do not depend upon your college for placements. Instead, upskill yourself through internships, research work, competitive programming competitions, hackathons, conferences, etc. 
4. Work hard from day 1, so that you can secure a good college for your higher studies (if you want to pursue MS, Phd, MBA, etc.) Good colleges do not necessarily mean IITs or IIMs. Instead, it means that the college gives you ample facilities and opportunities to grow in your field.
5. Take good care of your physical and mental health. You’ll be disappointed with a lot of things on campus, but make it a point to never give up.
6. Aptitude is important, but more important are technical skills. Your hiring company will seek employees who have a grasp of data analytics, machine learning, AI, natural language processing, etc. 
7. Whichever branch you study, give importance to mathematics and statistics, data-structures and algorithms. 

These are some tips from my end. I hope you follow them and have a memorable time at MAKAUT.

If you are considering joining JU then go for either JD Birla or Institute of Business Management. Their BHA program is one of the best in the country. However, JU has a bit of political influence so that might affect your learning experience. That being said, MAKAUT BBA seems to be the best option for you. Their curriculum and job opportunities are top notch and the institute does not have any kind of political affiliations. 

I will not suggest you join CU unless you are getting Goenka or Scottish. From what I have heard, the university has a very tough grading system. This might affect your job opportunities so consider this once before joining.

Other good private universities you can consider are Amity, Symbiosis, etc. 

Recently, there were complaints regarding the high fees charged by MAKAUT and many students in the affiliated colleges of the University were facing hardship during the studentship. Some cases that resulted in this situation are

• Death of a Parent /Guardian / Earning Member of the family
• Accident faced during their studentship

The university thereby introduced measures to extend relief to the casualty-stricken students. Soon the Student Welfare Committee (SWC) was organized. The body suggested that 100% (50% of the semester Fee will be waived by the respective colleges and the remaining 50% will be provided by the University.

There aren’t any specific fee waiver policies for SC students at MAKAUT.

To get an average of 9 CGPA, you need to perform well in all the exams and coursework throughout your semesters. This requires great effort and consistency. You can crack them with an appropriate study plan. They are as follows:

1. Notes – Make detailed notes for yourselves on every topic during lectures
2. Assignments – Never skip class work and tasks given by the teachers. Try to produce the best among others
3. Avoid Distractions- Reduce your leisure time and work hard with determination and dedication
4. Exams – Attempt every question and ensure good handwriting while writing the exams, which will help to impress the examiners.

Nothing is impossible; your effort will pay off.
