The overall campus life and experience is good . Good infrastructure and very nice events.

I like this many events that takes place every week in this college
I like faculty and their cooperation towards us

Dislikes

I dislike the food in the canteen. It is affordable but there is not kuch variety
Location of the campus is not so good. Not many good food places outside campus

I applied to scotting church and jis university also. I prefered this college as it is affordable with good reputation and is near my home . It is also affiliated with makaut university unlike the other colleges . The placement is 65%. The eligibility is not that hard to achieve. Minimum 75% in class 12 is enough. Exam accepted in this college for my course is CET

College faculty members are very good behaviour and all faculty need to improve students knowledge
Campus quality very good because all campus clean and care full natural environment
College faculty members are need to provide placement

Dislikes

Campus quality ok but one boys hostel open, only 4th year student.
Other 3 boyes hostel not provided any year student,then student survive very struggling.
I need to improve Play ground and research room .

Admission:

I first got Purulia Government College but I updated earlier because traveling to Purulia was very difficult. But after upgrading I took admission in Cooch Behar Government Engineering College as this college is very convenient for commuting. It is a five-minute walk from New Cooch Behar Station to the bus stand and then from the bus stand to Harin Chaora Railgate and on foot.

Practical Learning with a Friendly Campus Culture

Likes

Safe campus environment with strict anti ragging policy there is no chance of ragging because of college strict ragging policy.
Active campus life with cultural fest, technical events and students clubs and in every month around one to two event happens usually
Supportive and qualified faculty with strong knowledge and well mannered.

Dislikes

There is no ac in classroom so it is diificult in summer for us to seat in the classroom
Placement support is so poor, there is no training and aptitude class provided by them and they did not even help you during placement time
Companies from IT, finance, consulting and sales provided placement to cse branch and our branch gets very few oppurtunity

Admission:

Before joining my college i have applied for multiple college but based on parameters like academics, placements, infrastructure, fees and location i have chosen this college.Yes i have gotten rejected from many colleges because of my rank and academics. If you want to get admission in my college you have to give WEJEE which is conducted by west bengal government.

Likes

Decent infrastructure for academic , classroom are well equipped and library is well maintained with textbooks, journals and digital access to certain resources.
Best campus life , the campus has an active environment with tech fest , events, and cultural program.
Supportive faculty, faculty members are well qualified and supportive in nature and teaching methods includes PPTs, lab session

Dislikes

No ac in classroom , specially in summer it is very difficult for us to seat in classroom.
Placement support can be improved, the training and placement cell are not so supportive in nature
Hostel and Mess facilities are poor they can be improved and food quality can fluctuate depending on mess incharge.

Admission:

I chose this college because my rank was not so good so i am unable to get admit in better college than this . I have applied many colleges but due my rank i can't be admited inthose colleges. To take admission in my college you have to give eith WEJEE or JEE ,depending on your rank you will get selected to any particular course.

Likes

Supportive faculty and good academic culture most of the faculty members are well qualified and approachable.
The campus life was good and an active environment with events, cultural program,tech program
Decent infrastructure for academic , the library are well stocked with textbooks.

Dislikes

Placement support faculty is so worse they did not help students if they find any difficulties during their placements
Hostel and mess facility they did not provide food as best quality according to money they taken
Language barriers there are most of the faculty are from west bengal and they even talk in class in Bengali so if you don't know Bengali then it can be difficult

Admission:

I choose this because of its location and fee structure. Yes i have gotten rejected from many colleges because my rank was not so good. If you want to get admission in my college you have give either webjee or jee based on your rank you can get selected for any particular course.

The life in HITK

Likes

Well maintained and modern equipments in lab and sincere teaching methods which makes a student exam ready. The exam structure is very well patterned. It aligns perfectly with the study schedule. Teachers are very liberal and helpful.
The campus life is also perfect. Playgrounds and sport facilities is top notch. The canteen also has a great variety of items everyday for students. The campus is pretty clean.
There are many clubs for students to engage in other social and cultural activities. It really enlightens the mood and competitive spirit of one.

Admission:

I have found heritage institute of technology as one of the best private institutions in Kolkata. I have recieved great reviews about this college from the ex students. This college provides you with the best placements and best memories sometimes.

Canteen is not very much pleasing and very less choices are available

This college provides the same knowledge and facilities as the others in a very affordable price. It provises good faculty and environment for studying. At the time of admission teachers are very supportive they'll help you with all the might , you just have to bring the documents.

Likes

The faculty are very helpful and kind to the student.There is a very good coding culture.You will get exposure to everything what sports ,extra-curricular activity etc.
The senoirs are very co-operative and eager to help us if we reach out to them regarding any problem irrespective of its type-be it academic or something else
The camps is absolutely Ragging free,there is anti-ragging squard made of faculty ,seniors and student which look after this

Dislikes

The campus is very big that's why there are bushes everywhere,it is difficult to maintain it....
As it is a government college and it is quiet a old college so the buildings are old but the infrastructure is good
There are so many clubs approx 31,so you will definately get confused

I applied to a few other government engineering colleges but i ended up choosing JGEC.The main reasons: JGEC is a well established,fully government owned autonomous college,with good accreditation.It also has a long history since 1961,which made me trust its academic environment.Compared to other colleges i applied to ,JGEC felt more stable and credible.It also has a reasonable structure and good campus infrastructure,labs and oppurtunities for intership .There is also a good scope for higher studies like GATE.The marks vs rank went extremely high in WBJEE 2025.That's why i didn't get a college i applied for which is near my home. You can take admission by giving WBJEE and JELET only.As it is a government college you can only take admission if you get a good rank .There is also different cut-offs for diff catagory.The overall admission process is was very smooth and systematic.
