GCECT Kolkata Admission
Admission to the B.Tech program is based on the candidate’s performance in WBJEE which is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. To get admission to B.Tech Lateral, the candidates have to appear in JELET
For admission, the candidates need to have a valid score in GATE. Apart from GATE rank, the direct admission of eligible candidates are also granted by the college

- Accommodation: The college offers a hostel facility for boys as well as faculty members staying far-off their hometown.

Ans. The college consists of 35% of faculty members who are Doctorate Degree Holders and the rest are highly qualified and experienced postgraduates. Some of the faculties are pursuing their Ph. D. - Its an Autonomous collage under MAKAUT , Small compact Collage , Neat and Clean , Teachers are friendly , everyone knows everyone , its like family here , great placement for Ceramic department, thats the main depertment of the collage , no poltics
- Apart from study many clubs are there like photography , astronomy , art . fest is organized by the SWA ( Student Welfare Association ) , No Political pressure like other university or collage , no ragging , seniors are very friendly
Dislikes
- small Campus , infrastructure can be improved , canteen facility should be given
- there is no such dislike about the great collage but one thing is infrastructure can be improved
Admission:
You Have to take admission through Wbjee Examination ( west bengal government Conduct the Exam every year ) , But You Cant just take direct admission here through donation because it is a government collage , You Need Under 4000 rank foe CSE and 6000-7000 for IT and 10000+ for Ceramic Technology (CT)

- The campus size is not that big, like other colleges
- Availability of minimum branch in btech only CSE IT and CT
Admission:
The college take direct addmissions from wbjee exam . It is an government college so there are no direct admission in college or no donation addmission. If give wbjee and fullfill the criteria then only you can take admission. If you scored rank under 4k then get CSE And if you scored under 5.5k then you get it and if you plan for CT 8k or 9k it goes maximum

- The environment in the campus it's clean and green
- The teaching styles of almost every profs.(There would always be exception)
Dislikes
- The size of the campus is quite small as compared to other colleges.
- The High frequency of the exams makes it somewhat difficult for skill development.
Admission:
The admission process was quite simple and smooth. On 2020 the closing rank for reserved candidates (SC) went upto somewhat 12.5k. And for the exams there are 2 mid term exams and 1 end sem exam with questions varying from moderate to somewhat hard level.

So, for doing engineering in west bengal you have to seat in the exam wbjee once a year . After that I go through counciling process . According to cutoff you got seat in engineering college. There have cast cut-off also. The admission process is generally easy .

The admission process was easy. staffs were good . you just have to carry all the documents mentioned in WBJEE official site and the rest will be done by the college staffs.the cutoff for IT is around 6000(round 2)

Admission:
The admission process was easy and smooth. You can take admission into BTech for a course of 4 years duration after clearing WBJEE and securing a decent rank. For CSE branch the rank ranges to a limit of 5k while for IT the limit is close to 7k (general category). Decentralised admissions can further push this range, but the variation is different every year. Semester exams are scheduled once every six months and 2 mid sem exams preceed these semesters. Exams are moderate and you can score well if you've gone through class notes.
