After the 6th sem, the students are eligible to go for campus placements which are offered by companies like Cognizant ,Wipro, Infosys ,Microsoft, HCL are some major companies which recruit around 100-120 students every year. The average package offered by these companies is around 6-7 LPA and the highest is around 12-13LPA on campus, the current record comprises 89% placements from overall branches. As of now, I have planned to target certain companies otherwise, I am most likely to go for my masters through the GATE exam.
The companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, IBM provide internship opportunities for the students here these are also among the major recruiters from HIT. They offer a stipend of around 12-14k per month for the internship period.
There are certain fests held every year like Prothoma (Durga Puja), Aetheria (cultural fest), HackHeritage (hackathon),etc. The library has a wide range of books on every domain and other than that there are novels, self help books, competitive exam books, etc. and the classrooms are well furnished and with proper lighting, digital boards, green boards. Sports facilities available on the campus include football ,cricket, badminton, volleyball , archery and have their respective clubs. Most of the clubs in the institute are student run clubs like Anubhuti ( theatre club), DEBSOC (debating society), GDG (google dev groups), Robotics club, etc.
The fee is Rs 97,500 for admission in the 1st sem and the remaining semesters 2 to 8 have a fees of Rs69,500 each,so the overall fee is a constant amount. The following contributes the admission fees, development fees and lab fees, however yyou are required to pay an amount of Rs 1200 each semester for university exam admit card. The fee structure is similar for the other branches of HIT which includes specialisation branches of CSE,ECE,EE and MECH. No scholarships are offered by the college, however direct scholarships can be applied outside the college
The curriculum is inclined as per AICTE and is designed under MAKAUT, but the autonomy in this institute is what makes the curriculum somewhat flexible accordingly. It is designed such that it will make you deserving enough to compete in the real world and also maintains the standard to opt for further course in as well as outside India. However, there can be some changes like including maths for higher no. of semesters as it is highly demanded for higher studies, along with that the time spent on the core subjects can also be increased so that a student can focus on his/her domain and actually get something of worth out of it.
The hostel rooms are spacious enough, most of the rooms are 2 bed sharing rooms which charge around Rs7500-8000 monthly, which includes the facilities of running water, sanitation, geysers, etc. But the electricity facility in the area is not so good, power cuts are a problem for around 8-10 hrs somedays. The food quality is good enough but not when you are a picky eater, the hostel food timings are: 9 a.m.- breakfast 12-1 p.m.- lunch 8-10p.m.-dinner The hostels take some amount before alloting the room as security deposit which is around Rs 10,000 and rent after that. The security money is valid for 11 months and after that the money will be returned if not used prior. The charges of these hostels can be termed as student friendly. Rooms are also available in the area where the expenditure on rent goes down per head but other costs are comprised like groceries, daily use products, etc.
The faculty to student ratio in every branch is around 10:90, and they are really friendly, approachable. The faculties are actually more encouraging for asking doubts around their concerned fields. Some really good faculties here in Maths- HOD Mr. Sandip Chaterjee, he always encourages us to go beyond the restrictions of the curriculum and actually understand how maths works -Mr. Souvik Kundu, his friendly nature and interactive teaching made me an admirer of his teaching and expertise. There are also a few faculties with whom I had a hard time in understanding their way of teaching or delivering lectures and that's the bad part because you sit in their class listening to lectures for 1 hr straight, not understanding a thing. The exams here are midterm and endsems, along with these, there are some surprise tests which are conducted often after the completion of a module
Apart from HIT I have also applied for Techno Main and received the confirmation for admission but on coparing the infrastructure, placements and college rankings ,I have found HIT to be the better one. Also ,I have applied for JU and CU under the same WBJEE, but could not make into it because of high cutoffs for these universities. The admission is done through counselling with the WBJEE or JEE MAIN ranks, where WBJEE is the more preferred one by the students and the cutoff for CSE branch in HIT is around 3000 rank for other state student. The admission process was overall smooth and was time efficient.
Gyms are available in the area at a distance of around 1.5 km along with that there are many cafes in the area which serve till late night and certain hangout spots like restaurants or mall. The college gates are opened till 8 p.m. and the hostel gates by 10-11 p.m. Inside the college, the ground and the cafe are the most occupies places and are good to spend some leisure time and outside the college there are some other tea and coffee spots, small resaturants which charge as per the budget of a student from a middle class family .The college is in a residential area with houses and many hostels around it so it is safe to go for a late night walk.

I had applied for IITs and NITs but I was not getting good branches in those colleges as I had bad rank in JEE, so I chose Computer Science and Business System branch in this college. The admission process is very simple, you have to appear for wbjee exam and score good rank to get admission in this college, after that you have to sit for wbjee councelling and then you will be called to college for admission.

This college have a one good thing that i like and i took it for my B Tech is that there is no restrictions for classes and no restrictions for dress and time also. So the student who work on it is getting susscess and who don't care it they get nothing and also the course fess is too much less according to others and the placement average is also good.

I took admission in this college because of my rank. My rank was not very good to take admission in other good colleges. Although my college is also decent and one of the top private colleges in west Bengal but still. One thing is good that is the ROI of this college as fees is very less. You have to give wbjee exam to get into this college.

Well as I told earlier that I took admission into this college through my wbjee rank.. So basically I applied in my wbjee counselling.. my choice filling in counselling was like :- 1) Heritage institute of technology CSE(core) 2) Heritage institute of technology CSE(Artificial intelligence and machine learning) 3) Heritage institute of technology CSE (Data Science) 4) Heritage institute of technology CSE(Internet of things and cyber security including Blockchain technology) 5)Techno main saltlake CSE(CORE) 6) Techno main saltlake CSE (Artificial intelligence and machine learning) 7) Techno main saltlake CSE(Data science) 8) RCC Institute of information technology (CSE) 9) BP Poddar institute of management and technology (CSE) According to my rank.. I was alloted a seat in Heritage institute of technology CSE (Internet of things and cyber security including Blockchain Technology) in Round 3 of counselling.

I choose Heritage institute of technology over other colleges premier league because of its strong academy reputations comprehensive infrastructures and vibrant campus life while other college I applied to offer competitive course hrt institute out for its emphasis on practical learning industry collaborations and diverse students community.
Hit is a good college in west bengal if compare it to other ( comparison is not ofcourse with JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY) . I was getting some core subjects in other college like DTU but my cs interest took me here. My descision is not very right i guess . I realized it after coming to this college as some of the median packages reported online in many websites was not very right .

HIT is the best private college in WB . And also provides great exposure to its students. These things are the reason that i am here. Of all the colleges i have applied for, i find HIT with return of investment. I have taken many exams like JEE(MAINS + ADVANCED ), VIT, WBJEE. I was getting ECE in nits but i was very fond of CSE so i choose HIT which is a good decision . I was also getting VIT but the fee structure was the barrier. HIT is taking admissions from JEE and WBJEE both. For CSE in HIT your rank should be upto 4200 (in wbjee ) and around 55,000 in jee mains.

Taking donation money depends on how many seats are available. The donation fee will be high for the streams that have a lot of demand.
However, if there are seats that are vacant, you can try spot counseling and you will not be charged at all for this except for the fee required for admission.
The money that you might be asked to pay can vary depending on the financial situation of the candidates. Getting in touch with the management facility will help you in getting a clear idea. Keep in mind, however, that people who opted for the management quota had to pay huge amounts of money.
Almost 10% of the seats were kept aside for management quota candidates and they are given on the basis of ‘first come first’. Some people got admitted without paying anything at all except for the admission fee and some had to pay huge amounts of money to get in.
Another thing about getting admission through quota is you may lag behind your peers. Even if you do get admission, a lot depends on you as well.
The coding culture of the Heritage Institute of Kolkata is different for different departments. All the departments have different cultures be it CSE, ECE. These departments have a good lab environment available. They have a fun coding culture without stress and deadlines. They don't force a student to learn fast and they focus on concepts rather than deadlines. But it's valid for only the above-mentioned department.
The coding culture for other departments is not so great. They will teach you more about IT world culture than coding. So, choose your branch/department wisely.
As one of my friends studied in Heritage Institute of Technology, I am able to share some of the facts, which you may find useful.
In cases alike, there are two possible scenarios to take into account.
First Scenario:
Second Scenario:
In any case whatsoever, have a talk with the authorities of the institute. Partially, the decision that is supposed to be confirmed also depends upon the management of the college. In some cases, they possibly also deduct a reasonable amount and return the rest.
According to my friends from Heritage, 50% of your internal marks depend on your attendance. So, your attendance plays a significant role in your internal marks. Viva is conducted by the teachers as a part of the internal. Scoring good marks only in the end-semester examination will not help you in scoring a high GPA, you will have to score good marks in internal exams as well. If you have a good attendance record, you might get grace marks as well.
Since it is an autonomous institute, you will have to attend the classes. It does not matter whether you like the classes or not otherwise you will not get good internal marks. This is why there is a 60% mandatory attendance criterion.
For reaching that level, a lot of hard work would be required from the students, faculty and the administration. It takes time to achieve success.
Like it has been said, improvements do not happen overnight. And it hardly ever does well when we compare ourselves with others, HIT can move forward at its own pace and it will succeed in its endeavors eventually.
Heritage Institute of Technology doesn’t lag behind IEM. It is among the top private technological institutes in the region. In terms of academics and placements, Heritage is top-notch. Reputed companies such as Tata Advanced Systems, Google, Amazon, etc. take part in the campus placements of the institute. Heritage Institute of Technology placements 2022 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 44 LPA.
Only recently, one of my friends secured admission at Heritage Institute of Technology after attempting for admission at Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management. Given his situation, it is safe to say that the issue shall be considered the same even if you arrive from Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology.
Following his visit to Heritage Institute of Technology, IEM and Techno India Salt lake, he opted to take admission at the former. The institute rather mentioned that their reporting session was completed, however, if there was a following vacancy and if the student could fulfill the criteria of the branch, then the institute would directly approach them for further admission processes.
It is best that you extract similar information from the administration office to have appropriate knowledge about the same.
Depending upon the cut-off as is followed by the institute, you can predict the branch you are most likely to secure admission in. Besides, you should apply for the WBJEE counseling as well, which is to say, it will be accessible through JEE Main itself. The application is based both on an online and offline mode.
Here is a breakdown of the WBJEE cut off as per what was followed by the Heritage Institute of Technology from 2019 to 2021.
WBJEE | |||
Round | Cut-off as per rank (2019) | Cut-off as per rank (2020) | Cut-off as per rank (2021) |
1 | 4960 | 4867 | 5590 |
2 | 5673 | - | 7380 |
3 | 5735 | - | - |
Based upon the following criteria, it is best that you research more about the latest cut-off for the branch you are about to apply for.
Yes, I believe so. It's something I've heard from my friends at Heritage Institute of Technology. If you cancel your admission before the start of the semester, you will get a refund.
However, I strongly advise you to contact the Heritage Institute of Technology's information desk at their official contact phone number or may visit their official website for more information.
Yes, you will get a refund. However, you will not get the total amount. As by then you would have attended 9-10 classes in Heritage Institute of Technology, the institute will calculate that and hence deduct about 10-15% of the total fees. And the remaining amount will be refunded by the authority. But, it is important to know that this process is a little time-consuming. The authorities will take about 10-15 days to complete the refund process.
One of my friends got admission to IEM Kolkata and after getting Kalyani in Spot round, he left IEM. He had gone through the whole refund process. The fee he paid was about INR 80 Thousand. He got a refund of about INR 69 Thousand. So, there is no such risk. You will surely get your fee refunded if you choose to leave this college.
