Heritage Institute of Technology: 119 Answered Questions

How do the placements really compare between Adamas University Kolkata B.Tech Biotechnology and Heritage Institute of Technology B.Tech Applied Electronics and Instrumentation?

ZincZealot

Adamas University Kolkata's B.Tech in Biotechnology offers a relatively moderate fee structure of ?85,000 per semester, along with good internship opportunities and strong placement support, with over 90% of students landing jobs. In contrast, Heritage Institute of Technology’s B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation has a higher fee structure but lacks detailed information about placements and internships, making it harder to gauge ROI. Given the strong placement rates and financial aid options at Adamas, I’d recommend it for those looking for a better financial choice, especially if you’re keen on biotechnology. Heritage might be better suited for those specifically interested in electronics and instrumentation, but the uncertain placement prospects could make it riskier financially.

What are the pros and cons of studying EE at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College or Heritage Institute of Technology? Which one should I choose? How better is JGEC than HITK I do not care about placements?

NebulaNexus

Choosing between Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College (JGEC) and Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) is really up to you. Let me share some insights that might help.

HIT used to have impressive placement rates, but they've dipped recently. On the other hand, JGEC is a solid choice if you're going for CSE, ECE, or Mechanical Engineering, with about 80-90% of students from non-core departments getting placed each year. Plus, many students find opportunities with top multinational companies through off-campus recruitments.

For tuition, JGEC is quite affordable for middle-class families, and they offer half and full scholarships for students who need financial help. In contrast, the tuition fees at HIT are on the higher side.

JGEC also offers a unique experience, being located in North Bengal. It's a beautiful area, and you might just fall in love with the surroundings.

If you're aiming to crack the GATE exam, it's worth noting that even though there aren't any coaching centers nearby, many students from JGEC manage to secure good ranks each year.

Which is better CSE in Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology or IT in Heritage institute of technology?

Bidita GhoseLives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

If you're considering pursuing an IT course at Heritage, you may have heard some negative feedback about the program. While it's true that IT may not be the strongest option at Heritage, there are still some reasons why it might be the best choice for you. Here are some points to consider:

  • Heritage has a well-established reputation for its academic programs, especially in the fields of engineering and computer science. This can be an advantage when it comes to finding job opportunities and building your professional network.
  • If you're interested in computer science but not sure which specialization to choose, starting with an IT program could be a good way to explore different areas before making a decision.
  • It's possible to switch to another stream after the first year if you're not satisfied with the IT program. By maintaining a GPA of 8.5 or above, you could transfer to the computer science engineering (CSE) program, which is one of Heritage's strongest programs.

If you're still unsure whether IT at Heritage is the right choice for you, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Consider your long-term career goals and whether an IT degree from Heritage will help you achieve them. Research the job market in your desired field and see what qualifications and skills employers are looking for.
  • Look into the specific courses and faculty members in the IT program at Heritage to get a better sense of the curriculum and teaching quality. Talk to current students and alumni to hear their perspectives on the program.
  • Think about your personal interests and strengths. If you're passionate about a particular area of computer science or have a talent for programming, you may want to pursue a more specialized program that aligns with your strengths.

Ultimately, the decision to pursue an IT degree at Heritage is a personal one that depends on your individual circumstances and goals. While it may not be the best option for everyone, it could be a viable choice for those who are interested in exploring different areas of computer science or transferring to another program after the first year. Just remember to do your research and weigh your options carefully before making a final decision.

How is CSE or IT in Calcutta University, compared to the same branches at Heritage Institute of Technology?

Tiyasha GhoshStudied at the University of Calcutta (2018)

If you're considering pursuing a degree in engineering or science, it's important to understand the differences between various institutions and the programs they offer. Here's what you need to know about HITK, CU, and The Heritage College:

  • HITK: This institution offers a four-year B.Tech. degree program that is affiliated with MAKAUT (formerly known as WBUT). The curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in engineering concepts and prepare them for careers in various industries.
  • CU: CU, on the other hand, offers a three-year B.Sc. degree program. While it's not directly comparable to HITK's B.Tech. program, it's still worth noting that the two programs have different structures and focus on different areas of study.
  • The Heritage College: This institution offers a B.Sc. degree program that is affiliated with CU. The program is designed to provide students with a broad foundation in science and prepare them for careers in various fields.

It's important to note that comparing these institutions and programs directly is not necessarily productive, as each one has its own strengths and weaknesses. However, if you're trying to decide which program is right for you, here are some factors to consider:

  • Curriculum: Take a close look at the curriculum for each program and consider whether it aligns with your interests and career goals.
  • Affiliation: Consider whether the program is affiliated with a reputable university or institution.
  • Duration: Consider the length of each program and whether it fits with your timeline and schedule.
  • Focus: Consider the focus of each program and whether it aligns with your interests and career goals.

In conclusion, when comparing HITK, CU, and The Heritage College, it's important to consider the unique strengths and weaknesses of each program and institution, rather than trying to make direct comparisons. This will help you make an informed decision about which program is right for you.

Darshan SethiStudied at Heritage Institute of Technology

You can expect to get at any of the branches of the Heritage Institute of Technology if your GMR is 42,769 and you are in the ST category.

If you have a domicile in West Bengal, you may be eligible for admission to all branches offered by the Heritage Institute of Technology. What are some product based companies that visit Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata for placements? What is their CTC?

Jason JohnBachelor of Technology Electronics and Communication Engineering, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata

For the Computer Science and Information Technology departments:

The number of product-based companies visiting HIT-K is very low when compared to Jadavpur and Shibpur university (current IIEST), but it is higher than other colleges under WBUT.

1) Digital Dynamic Technology (R & D of Polaris networks).

2) Nomura Institute of Research

3) Yodlee Information Technology

Because all of the companies mentioned above are small, their intake is limited at times.

If you want to excel, you can start doing projects under different professors, there is a coding club, and they have recently started organizing monthly coding contests on Hackerrank.

Make connections with seniors who are already working in product-based companies and try to get internships through referrals. You should not wait until the third year to start an internship; learn C/C++/Java, DS, and Algo and you'll be ready to start an internship at any product-based company. Microsoft held an off-campus event, but it does not count because it occurred only once.

In terms of the CTC, it is determined by the year and the organization.

How good is Heritage Institute of technology in mechanical department?

Jason JoseStudied at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata

It's distinctly average. When it comes to placement in core branches (civil, mechanical, and electrical), the majority of its students are placed in IT companies, with only a few placed in core companies. It's not because of the college, but because of the caliber of the students. To get a job in a core company, you have to work extremely hard from the first day of college. You must be well-versed in your subjects. You won't find all of the faculties beneficial, though some of them are. However, regardless of the circumstances, you must comprehend all concepts and apply them in real life with the assistance of a teacher or on your own. Every year, many core companies visit campus and offer higher salaries than IT companies.

So you must study in order to pass their interviews. To advance in your career, you must pass exams such as GATE or IES. And keep in mind that this is the case in almost every college in India. Heritage is no exception.
