Remarks

Data Science is a booming industry and the course structure of this institution is at par with other elite, so-called A-Grade institutes, but at a cheaper rate. This was the prime reason for selecting this university. Known about this university from a senior studying here.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Excellent course structure with facilities like online and offline classes even in the pandemic. Teacher to student ratio is near to 2:3. Faculties are PhD scholars from elite Universities all across the globe. Term exams were strictly conducted offline with every possible precaution and on proper intervals.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships are offered by TCS and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. Stipend ranges from 5000 INR to 12000 INR per month. Tasks include optimizations, data visualization and analytics. However, being a student of current batch, my internship or placements haven't started yet.

Placement Experience

3

Students are eligible for campus placements from 3rd semester. The entire 4th semester is dedicated for industrial internships. Companies like TCS are frequent here. However, nothing is permanent here in case of campus placements. Students are advised to apply offline via LinkedIn and other job sites. About 90% students get placed due to knowledge they gain from here, both technical and analytical, even if the on-campus placement scenario is dull. Highest package is around 12lpa whereas the lowest being 4lpa.

Fee Structure And Facilities

No fee hike policy, no hidden cost, nominal fee structure of 20000 INR per semester. Fees for meals and hostel are paid separately, which is 21000 INR. No scholarship is offered from the institute but can be availed from anywhere the student wants. The placements are decent with students getting placed in TCS, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Accenture, etc.

Campus Life

5

Campus Life is excellent which helps the students to grow both mentally and physically. Labs can be accessed 24*7 and libraries contain different books covering all the courses being offered here. Regular yoga classes and on-field games helps the students to maintain a healthy body. However, no fests are conducted but seminars by professors all around the globe are conducted.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel rooms are spacious, with large windows for clear passage of air. Electricity is available 24*7 with generators. Hostel registration is done from the college website itself. Meal quality is decent with meals offered 3 times a day. It's quite affordable with 21000 INR per month.

Admission

The interview was conducted online. Interview questions were asked by a panel of professors of the department I'm currently pursuing (Department of Computer Science). Interview topics include probability, linear algebra, basic computer knowledge, quadratic equations, etc.

Placement Experience:

Calcutta University has an active placement cell that plays a crucial role in securing jobs for students. Companies like EXL, Genpact, Infosis regularly visit campus for requirement and the average package offered to students is around 6-6.5 LPA. I have plan, go for Ph. D. or some specialized courses after completing my M.Sc. course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very well planned which does a great job in bringing out the best of the students. They are designed thoughtfully so that it becomes easier of students to decide their future prospects. The exams are moderately tough. If one follows the lectures and attends classes regularly and study with dedication it is very much possible to ace the exams. Although one thing is a bit concerning for the students is the duration of the semesters. Such huge syllabus becomes a bit challenging for the students to cover up inthe time allotted for each semesters. But the teachers do their best to guide the students to excel in the exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

Nowadays the future as a Biotechnology student is bright as it has a lot of industrial options. The faculty-student ratio is 1:6, all professors are completed their Ph.D. and they are very efficient in both online and offline mode. There are 4 CA, and 2 PCA in one semester as an internal exam, the difficulty level of that exam is moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I want to be a professor in Botany so I did choose Msc and I have to pursue Ph.D. to be a professor. In our college botany seats for postgraduate student is very limited. We had around 22 students and we had 5 professors of botany. So our student-faculty ratio was very good. It is 4-5 students for one professor. Our professors were very much educated and were willing to teach us deeply. They took both online classes and offline practical classes. They were very open-minded and used to do interactive PowerPoint presentations in the classes. We had four semesters. And in every semester we had to pass all the papers. However, there is an internal assessment test before every semester
