To make it further understandable, I have listed some common pros and cons of IIT Delhi Pros You are in proximity to the capital city It’s easy to prepare for some other exams also apart from Engineering like IAS Hauz Khas village in itself is an absolute treat to the eyes Being in Delhi makes it possible to go for road trips to Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lansdown, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Agra, etc. The Delhi Metro makes commuting quiet easy There are many places to explore and hang out with your friends in the vicinity of the campus. Cons CS department of IIT Bombay is way better than IIT Delhi offering a plethora of diverse courses. The campus of IIT Bombay has more natural landscape and greenery in comparison to IIT Delhi. This enhances the climate and overall ambiance inside the campus Unlike IIT Delhi, the hostel facilities are much better at IIT Bombay while Delhi hostels are overly crowded. You’ll ace CS/IT placement tests, and secure a good job. Thus, I would recommend you choose IIT Delhi Textile over IIIT Delhi CSE.

The fee is semester wise-104000/semester So for year it is 208000. This is the tution fees. The hostel fees is 8000/semester. Which means it is 16000 for a year. The mess fees is nearly 40000/semester but it may vary according to the nenu they have kept. This is for a normal student without reservations. Others candidates have a concession in the tution fee payment. Income less than 1 lakh per annum have no tution fee. Income between 1 to 5 lakh have 33333 as tution fee.

The academic life is pretty hectic. The exams are almost always haunting the students.
There is huge competition between the students regarding marks and cumulative grade.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The semester fees for the first semester is approximately 1,22,400 INR which includes a refundable caution deposit of Rs 8000 and tution fees of Rs. 1,00,000. Other than that it includes one time payement is Rs. 8150 and an additional charge of Rs. 6250. The amount payable to JoSAA toward institute fees is Rs 92400. For candidates of ST/SC/PwD/ Genaral or OBC with family income <1 lakh category the tution fee is nil. For general/OBC category candidates with family annual income between 1 to 5 lakh the tution fees is 33,333. All other charges like One time payement, other charges and refundable caution deposit are the same for all kinds of candidates. For later semesters, when we ignore the one time charges the fees for a general candidate is approximately 1,14,350. Now talking about the hostel fees, it is the same for all categories of candidates.. The accomodation charges are approximately Rs., 57,000. The mess charges are Rs. 38,580 per semester. The one time charges are include seat allotment cahrge of Rs. 7000 which is non-refundable. Other than that a security deposit of Rs. 15,000 which is refundable. . The mess charges fro new centralized A/C hostel are Rs. 41580. There are also variousd academic/ non-academic scholarships for various candidates belonging to various categories. Some of these include scholarships for te top 5 openers of the institute based on their JEE ADVANCED RANK. Other scholarships include Krishna Engineering scholarship, Jain scholarship,Vivekananda scholarship, scholarships based on income such as for candidates belonging to the financial bracket of family annual income less than 5 lakh per annum. There are also scholarships for female candidates like Jawahar Gajree Memorial Girl's scholarship wherein a total of 8 scholarships are awarded every year to two girls students of each year(from 1st to 4th year) of the undergraduate programmes on the basis of MCM whose parental income is upto 5 lakh per annum.

The fees for one semester is ?122000 so that makes it around ?250000/yr. The hostel fees is ?35000 per semester so that is ?70000 per year. Overall there is an expenditure of ?320000 on college in an year.

the campus is equipped with modern facilities like 24/7 open library, advanced research centres , well equipped laboratories .the course helps to think and solve problems in research and management

Fees and Financial Aid:

I am a general category student and the semester fees of the course is 1 lakh . During JOSSA counselling , we had to pay a seat acceptance fees of 37500/- the students belonging to other categories like ST and SC have to pay semester fess of 25000/- and initially they have to pay 17500/- as seat acceptance fees . the college provides medical aid to all IIT Delhi students as free cheack up amd medicines

Hostel mess = 70000 per yr Hostel Seat rent = 15000 per yr Tuition fees = 240000 per year For OBC/Gen/Others : Salary above 5 lakh annum = Full tuition fees Salary between 1 to 5 lakh per annum = 50% of tuition fees Salary below 1 lpa = 25% tuition fee For SC /ST/PwD 25% of the tuition fees SBI IITD provides a 0% interest loan till you graduate and an interest of 7% after your graduating term is finished. This loan can be for your laptop and fees or any of your legible needs. Other banks may provide a low interest loans too. Due to the 0% interest loan, I d say its really affordable for anyone. But, hostel fees are high.

When I was in iit there was not any kind of fees hike news I got from my friends (as I was EWS) I Come under Ews category that's why I got a full fees wavier by my college Yes there are scholarship but if your are not able to pay the fees it meant that you don't have pretty good family income so for this in iit if you have family income less than 3 lakhs annual you get 100 percent fees wavier and for 3 to 5(or may be 8 lakh ) you get 50 percent wavier

There are two sides to every coin. Similarly, there are many reasons why one must choose IIT Delhi over IIT Mumbai and vice versa. To make it further understandable, I have listed some common pros and cons of IIT Delhi

Pros

You are in proximity to the capital city
It’s easy to prepare for some other exams also apart from Engineering like IAS
Hauz Khas village in itself is an absolute treat to the eyes
Being in Delhi makes it possible to go for road trips to Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lansdown, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Agra, etc.
The Delhi Metro makes commuting quiet easy
There are many places to explore and hang out with your friends in the vicinity of the campus.

Cons

CS department of IIT Bombay is way better than IIT Delhi offering a plethora of diverse courses.
The campus of IIT Bombay has more natural landscape and greenery in comparison to IIT Delhi. This enhances the climate and overall ambiance inside the campus
Unlike IIT Delhi, the hostel facilities are much better at IIT Bombay while Delhi hostels are overly crowded.
Delhi faces extreme climatic conditions whereas the weather of IIT Bombay somehow remains the same throughout the year.

I leave it to you to weigh the pros and cons accordingly and make an informed decision.

I got CSE at IIT Delhi. Can I get a single room in the first year?

Do you think getting admission to the most coveted branch will also give access to the most coveted housing facilities? Well, you are wrong, inside IIT your rank has no value. You will be treated like any other student with equal amenities at your disposal.

At IIT Delhi, every student is allotted a room randomly without any discrimination. First-year students usually get 2-seater or 3-seater rooms depending on the hostel they are assigned to.

The single rooms you were asking for are usually allotted in the last year but some lucky students get a single room from the 3rd year in a new hostel like Girnar or Udaigiri. But regardless, your hostel will become your new home. Irrespective of the kind of rooms you are allotted, you get adapted to them and make splendid memories and new friends.

Which is better, IIT Roorkee CS or IIT Delhi mathematics and computing (4 years)?

Both programs are equally good in their respective fields and so are the institutions offering the programs. It’s important to consider what you expect from the program and what you plan to achieve after graduation to make the right choice.

My sister was in a similar dilemma as yours and eventually, she opted for MCA from IIT Delhi.This program has many courses similar to CS but the only problem is, the pedagogy adopted has a more theoretical approach than practical. Moreover, at some point, you will start questioning the parity of the faculty and will have to resort to self-study.

But here is the bright side, most companies coming for CS placements consider MCA students too, and offer decent roles.

Although I am not well aware of the situation in Roorkee, I can guarantee a true coding lover will prefer CS to MCA any day.

How much marks are needed for OBC category in JEE (Advance) to get CSE in IIT Delhi?

Never target a fixed score if you are planning to clear JEE because the level of difficulty of the exam varies every year. The closing rank of an OBC candidate is 340 for the CSE branch at IIT Delhi. So, on a rough estimate, a score of around 230 might get you into CSE as an OBC student. However, you wouldn’t limit your capabilities to your branch but give your best.

There are no compulsory attendance rules but the classes are interesting enough to attract students automatically

The peer groups are geniuses who are extremely hardworking and always ready to achieve the best.

Apart from Delhi, CS department of these institutes is also very good and reputed

IITK CS: It has an excellent reputation with the best AKS Primality algorithm.

IIIT-Hyderabad CS: This institute lays great emphasis in its course structure on coding

IIT Delhi has a much greater brand value as compared to IIIT Delhi. IIT D is superior in many aspects, one of which is campus life.

I have many friends in IITD Textile. They bagged foreign internships in the IT sector during their second year.

The coursework for Textile is very manageable. You’ll get ample time to practice coding on your own. Don’t worry about branch change. Even for a career in CS/IT, self-practice will get you through. Also, opt for the open electives offered at IIT Delhi. You’ll ace CS/IT placement tests, and secure a good job.

Thus, I would recommend you choose IIT Delhi Textile over IIIT Delhi CSE.

What should I take, electrical engineering at IIT Delhi or CSE at BITS Pilani?

IIT Delhi and BITS Pilani are two highly reputed institutions for engineering studies in India. I am a second year B.Tech Electrical student at IIT Delhi. During my time, I was faced with a similar dilemma. But I ended up choosing IIT Delhi over BITS Pilani for my studies.

I would recommend you choose Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi over CSE at BITS Pilani because of these reasons:

Brand Value: IIT Delhi carries the prestigious “IIT'' tag which holds more brand value than the “BITS Pilani'' tag. This will become important to you when applying to foreign universities for your higher education.
Fees: As a government institution, the fees of IIT Delhi is much more affordable as compared to BITS Pilani. This in turn, gives IIT Delhi a higher position in ROI (Return on Investment) because it offers even better placements.

I am a Civil Engineering student at IIT Delhi.

Even though CoE/ CSE/ IT are much more sought after by students in the present times, I would choose Civil at IIT Delhi over CoE at NSUT.

Here are the reasons for the same:

The faculty at IIT Delhi is much more experienced and learned than that at NSUT.
IIT Delhi was established in 1961, while NSUT in 1983. Because of this, IIT Delhi has a stronger alumni network.
IIT Delhi is a globally recognized brand, while NSUT is usually only known to students of North India. The “IIT” brand is immensely helpful when applying to foreign universities for higher studies.
Although civil freshers are rarely in demand, a civil engineer with enough work experience, the right set of skills, and great project accomplishments is paid a high salary.

I am a B.Tech Chemical Engineering student at IIT Delhi. According to me, these are the main factors you should consider while making up your mind:

Demand: CSE is more in-demand than chemical engineering.
Brand: The “IIT” tag holds more brand value than the “BITS” tag. The “IIT” tag will be more advantageous if you want to apply to foreign universities for higher education later on.
Fees: IIT Delhi is an affordable choice, whereas, BITS Pilani has high fees for its engineering programs. Additionally, IIT Delhi has better placements, which places it at a better position in terms of ROI.
