- It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
- The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
Dislikes
- The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
- The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.

From P&G to Tata steel, we have like 40+ companies just to hire MBA students. Students from NIT Rourkela have managed to get package of 30 lakhs and so. However, average comes down significantly as placements still are not 100%.
Likes
- The enviroment, it has lot of greenery and hills, the campus is big and there are lot of shops inside the campus
- The infrastructure and lab facilities are good. Everything is well maintained and the equipment are aslo in good condition
Dislikes
- Away from city centre and it is far away from the centre so, if you want to have a party or watch a movie
- The campus is big, and it is hard to travel around in a cycle, vehicles are not allowed
Placement Experience:
There are campus placement and internship opportunity are coming in our campus. There is a placement commitee in our college that takes care of this, In 3rd year we start applying for internship and from 4thyear there are campus placement. Almost 70-80% get placed there are others that opt for govt jobs and further education. I plan for a psu or government job after the degree is over.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Course curriculum is quite good as we can see that in each semester there are two examination that is made up of mid semester consists of 30 marks and end semester consist of 50 marks. 20 marksheet teacher assessment so we can say that total hundred mark we have to give exam and for that we got the result20 marksheet teacher assessment so we can say that total hundred mark we have to give exam and for that we got the result

- area of the campus, easy acces to everything, gym is also there
- faculties are nice depending upon the branch also there are courts for every sport

- electrical professors are not very chill unlike other branches
- food quality is vey bad and the price for the same is very high

over 1300 job offers were made in the last placement season.. the ghest package was of rs 1.2 cr of a senior from ei branch and that was off campus the average package was 15 lac per annum nearly all the people who registered got job

- The culture in the college is nice there are pepple from many parts of country
- The sports and games are held in a very good way.

- The rooms and food is not that much good.

Placement Experience:
The placements are so good. Our average package is 14 lacks and the very good thing is maximum people will get placed.the only bad part is that there is very less communication regarding placements in the clg.

- The quality of infrastructure and amenities are very good, campus is eco-friendly
- From 2nd year onwards they will give the placement training with the help of placement training group

- We have to maintain 85% attendence , that is too difficult
- Here ,In winter climate is too cold and In summer it is too hot

The placements are quite good compared to other colleges especially in the current times when there is a global recession happening. The average package is about 14LPA which is commendable. Above 90 percent of students get placed. Highest package was 83 LPA last year. I plan to sit for the college placements after i get the degree.
Likes
- I like the infrastructure here. It is so good.
- The placements here are great.the avg package is 18L for my branch.
Dislikes
- there is nothing that I don't like here.
- I don't like the politics happening here.
Placement Experience:
Placements are very good here. The college average package is 14 lakhs and our branch average is 18 lakhs. Everyone of our seniors for placed last year with good packages. But only problem is we can get only one placement.
Likes
- High quality infrastructure, and large, green enclosed campus with high security for students and zero ragging campus
- Good mess food , with proper hygiene maintained and nice hostel rooms .
Dislikes
- Less boys to girls ratio i.e. upto 5:1 and sometimes 4:1
- The college has a high attendance rate upto 85% whereas maximum other IITs and NITs have upto 75%.
Placement Experience:
Students ecome eligible for campus placements from 7th semester onwards. Avarage package is upto 12 to 13 lakhs per annum and highest can go upto 78 lakhs in campus placements. I plan to get my placement in a major core sector through campus placements.

What is your review of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT-RKL)?
A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
