- It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
- The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
- No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.
Dislikes
- The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
- The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
- Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

- The campus is very large and clean and ample amount of emphasis is given on sports activities which includes badminton courts, football grounds, cricket ground, kho kho ground, hockey, swimming pool and many more.
- Good amount of fests are organised which includes technical fests, sports fests, cultural fests and many more.
- The peer group is good as people come after clearing JEE hence there is a positive enviroment about studying/coding/technical acivites.
Dislikes
- The connectivity of rourkela is very less it does not even house a proper airport and the train routes are usually very long for north and south indian students. The trains are delayed too
- The girl boys ration though improving still remains low .
- hostels though are well maintained but the rooms are too small for two students to share it
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course is relevant enough to teach you all the basics you would require in engineering though some of the courses can be changed and in place of those new courses can be addded for example for non physics student teaching them quantum mechanincs and that too the old quantum mechanics doesent seem to make sense . The exams are not so frequent and the papers can be rated as moderate

- Campus is super huge so u need to have cycle for sure.

Course Curriculum Overview:
Course curriculum have changed after my admission .The Nep course structure is being applied by which so many irrelevant subjects are out of course.And new course is being introduced.Like AI Ml is taught to all branches.

- The lush green campus is too soothing to live in. Hostels are very huge and the mess food is far better than any college in Odisha . For pure vegetarians there is a whole separate mess without onion and garlic.only two student live in a single room.
- Academics is good and manageable . Weekly classes are of very short duration and less classes on a day to have a lot of extra time . Teachers are not that strict or difficult to deal . Academic pressure is low compared to IITs and IITs.
- There's a board called SAC(Student Activity Centre) for all kind of sports and extra curriculars. There are every type of club according to your interest. From art to business, from robotics to craft , from cricket kho kho . One fest each month 🎉
Dislikes
- The badminton courts in every hostel is made outdoor . The room is a little short for two people (but quite adjustable) . The hostel mess quality degrades as you move to another sem. For 1st yr boarders rules are strict. No electric appliances allowe
- NIT Rourkela sem exams are too stressful to deal with Very strict and very difficult to make youmself able to escape a back .
- There is a shortage of cricket field and football fields and also no mat for kabaddi . In most of the clubs they don't teach you much they just expect you to learn yourself and work in the club. The snacks and drinks items are expensive inside campus
Placement Experience:
I am a first year so don't know much about placements an internships.
Avegmrage package is - 10-12 lakhs
Median package - 8-9 lakhs
Highest domestic package - 52 lakhs
Highest international package - 1.2 crore
The average placement percentage of all branches are more than 90 always. Even some branches like mining and ceramic have 100% placements. After the 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements and after 4th sem students are eligible for internships.
I have just gave the fivestar but I am a first year student remember.

- Competition and events are organised by our institute.
- Financial support is provided to the students based on their family condition

- Attendance is required for giving examination.
- Getting leave for various purposes is a tough task

Placement Experience:
At the end of the fourth year of the graduation students become eligible for the campus placements various companies visit to a campus like Microsoft Google Netflix meta etc.
The highest campus placement goes in crores and average is also satisfactoryit is all between 25 to 30 lacs per year. In civil engineering department the highest placement was around 50 lacs and the lowest placement was around 8 - 9 lacs and average placement was around 14 lakhs per year. Almost 80 to 90% of the students are getting placed in civil department each year and almost 80% of the camp presidents are in getting placed every year in their final year. After completing my BTech civil engineering I wish to become a good civil engineering and wanted to work in Indian engineering service

- The faculty is a quite good and their also very approachable we can go to their rooms whenever we need we have a doubt we can also connect online
- The placement salary very active and student also go for foreign internship
- The infrastructure is also very good we have a very big campus size of 1200 acres and out of it 650 is used
Dislikes
- Do it is one of the best college in India but still it doesn't have a very good Sports Complex it is being constructed now
- The girls to boy the ratio is quietless it is only 23%
- Hostels are big but the management could be better and the mess food can also be better
Placement Experience:
Our college often more than 90% Placement in all fields is no campus placement happen to me then I will study for civil service exam to give some
government exam so that I can get government job.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
