NIT Rourkela is superb!!

Admission:

Well, just like other colleges NITs too have an entrance examinations and CAT percentile to get admission in IIMs was not enough. Then I had a look at some of the private colleges for MBA and their fees was 14-20 lakhs a year. The fees was beyond affordability for me. So on all the parameters that I looked upon like placements and hostels facilities, I felt NIT Rourkela to be the best choice and hence i didn't think for a second after I was confirmed admission here.

Likes

The enviroment, it has lot of greenery and hills, the campus is big and there are lot of shops inside the campus
The infrastructure and lab facilities are good. Everything is well maintained and the equipment are aslo in good condition

Dislikes

Away from city centre and it is far away from the centre so, if you want to have a party or watch a movie
The campus is big, and it is hard to travel around in a cycle, vehicles are not allowed

I was born and raise in rourkela, it would be nice i have gone to any other college, but my family wanted me near them, NIT rourkela as been my first priority, but given the choice IIT delhi would be better, never cleared Jee advance but never actually tried. It would have been better to spent time in a new city

As you can see that NIT and IIT are very good and deemed college all over India and also I'm odisha. So NIT is a very fast place to expose everything and academically to strong as well as in non academic early so it is a better place to do great things and to achieve success in life

"Life at NIT-Rourkela"

area of the campus, easy acces to everything, gym is also there
faculties are nice depending upon the branch also there are courts for every sport

electrical professors are not very chill unlike other branches
food quality is vey bad and the price for the same is very high

it was ranked as the third nit so I chose this college i guess the placements are not that good compared to other colleges... The admission process is hefty you have to participate in josaa or csab for btech program

NIRKL has NIRF Ranking of 19 among Engineering Colleges,Best Research Facility,Excellent Placement Opportunities and secures a place among Top 3 NITs I applied for other state government colleges,IIITs but did not take admission there as NITRKL has better Placement and Recognition and Ranking Due to my low JEE Advance Score I could not make it to the IITs Admission process of NIT Rourkela - Through JEE Main Rank and JOSAA Counselling for B.Tech and Int.Msc Programs It also takes admission through the CSAB Counselling which is a special round after josaa counselling Eligibility: 12 (PCM),75% Aggregate in 12th

REVIEW ON NIT ROURKELA

The culture in the college is nice there are pepple from many parts of country
The sports and games are held in a very good way.

The rooms and food is not that much good.
The rules of the college are not that much satisfied.

The college that im studying is all india below 20 in nirf ranking and the placement are very good with an average package of 14 lacks which is very good part. The only thing an engineering student want including enjoyment.

Good review

The quality of infrastructure and amenities are very good, campus is eco-friendly
From 2nd year onwards they will give the placement training with the help of placement training group

We have to maintain 85% attendence , that is too difficult
Here ,In winter climate is too cold and In summer it is too hot

This college is very big in area and infrastructure I thought I would not like to join in Telugu States This college is having 85% of attendance and remaining colleges having 75% This is last option that I have filled in the councelling in civil engineering branch

NIT Rourkela: An Overview

The college placements are quite commendable.
The college infrastructure is good and provides nice ambience.

The need for 85% attendance is compulsory in the college.
Some professors of the department are very strict and sometimes not reasonable.

I chose this college as it has better rankings in NIRF and other lists. Also the average placement package was a standout among others. I applied to other NITs and IIITs in JOSAA counselling but I got this college based on my rank and the cutoffs.

I like the infrastructure here. It is so good.
The placements here are great.the avg package is 18L for my branch.

there is nothing that I don't like here.
I don't like the politics happening here.

I kept choice filling just like the way my relative suggested me. Where this is the top nit. With my rank i can only get this nit but now any other 2 tier iits.so whatever happens I would say this the best college ever.

NIT Rourkela- where dreams come true

High quality infrastructure, and large, green enclosed campus with high security for students and zero ragging campus
Good mess food , with proper hygiene maintained and nice hostel rooms .

Less boys to girls ratio i.e. upto 5:1 and sometimes 4:1
The college has a high attendance rate upto 85% whereas maximum other IITs and NITs have upto 75%.

NIT Rourkela is the most renowned and prestigeous engineering college in Odisha, having far more reputation as well as NIRF rankings than most of the new IITs and NITs. I also applied for good IITs , based on my JEE Advanced rank but didn't get into any top IIT because of less rank. So instead of selecting of any new IIT , I selected NIT Rourkela , for its campus exposure and other perks. One can getv into NIT Rourkela through JEE Mains Examination and selected by JOSSA and CSAB rounds. Foreign students also get admission through DASA and other scholarships.
