NIT Warangal Placement 2025: Highest Package, Average Package, Top Recruiters

NIT Warangal is known to have an excellent placement scenario thanks to its active placement cell named Centre for Career Planning & Development (CCPD) which conducts placement drives every year. NIT Warangal 2023 pavements recorded a total of 1400 job offers with the highest CTC offered at INR 88 LPA. The average and median packages stood at INR 17.29 LPA and INR 12.6 LPA respectively.

In all, 268 recruiters participated in the placement drive. Additionally, 408 students received internship offers from reputable firms.

From the above table, it can be inferred that the highest number of students as well as the highest packages was bagged by BTech students. The highest salary was bagged by the B.Tech CSE students but the highest number of students were placed from the ECE batch.

NIT Warangal offers MTech in a number of core branches like CSE, ECE, M.E., and Civil which are further subcategorised A plethora of job opportunities are available for the CSE and ECE MTech students. However, very limited opportunities are available for core domains like Mechanical, Civil, etc. 

The two main reasons are the lack of core companies in India in general and fewer open positions for which BTech graduates are given preference. Most MTech graduates, therefore, prefer working in service-based companies like Infosys, TCS. While some even join PSUs and IES.

 In 2023, NIT Warangal MTech recorded the highest package of INR 51.03 LPA and an average package of INR 30.43 LPA. The median and lowest packages stood at INR 33 LPA and INR 3.6 LPA respectively.

The placement scenario of NIT Warangal, Surathkal, and Trichy is somewhat the same with minor differences only. One of my friends studied at NIT Warangal and shed some light on the placement scenario there. Here is a branch-wise analysis 

• CSE : The placements for the CSE branch are the best in NIT Warangal as well as Trichy and Surathkal. Students are placed in huge software giants like Microsoft, D.E.Shaw, Adobe, Directi, Tower Research Capital, Cisco, IBM, and some Investment Bankers like Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, etc The average package of CSE recorded this year was INR 30.8 LPA for BTech while INR 30.43 LPA for MTech.
• ECE - The companies coming on the first day of placements are Qualcomm, Broadcom, Nvidia, SanDisk India, Redpine Signals, Samsung, and Caterpillar, etc., Software companies like Cisco, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Oracle, etc allow ECE students to sit for placements. The average package for BTech students is INR 23.6 LPA and for MTech students is around NR 20.4 LPA.
• EEE - Companies like Alstom, Reliance, and PSUs like Power Grid, IOCL, HPCL, etc., offer core profiles to EEE students. Additionally, software companies that come for ECE and CSE students also allow EEE students to sit for placements. The average package for EEE is INR 21.19 LPA for BTech students and between 11- 14.6 LPA for MTech students.
• Mechanical Engineering: Companies like Caterpillar, Michelin, Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Volvo, Larsen and T0ubro, Vizag Steel Plant(RINL), etc., recruit Mechanical Engineering students of NIT Rourkela. The average package is INR 12.4 LPA for BTech students and between 9-12 LPA for MTech students. 
• Chemical Engineering: The Chemical engineering students are usually recruited by companies such as Reliance Industries, Dr.Reddy's Laboratories, Michelin tires, and some PSUs. A few even opt for Management or Consulting companies like MuSigma, Deloitte, IBM, etc., The average package is INR 14.8 LPA for BTech students and between 8-11 LPA for MTech students. 
• Civil Engineering - This is one of the oldest NIT Warangal branches that has recruiters like the Sobha developers group etc., Students opt for Management or Consulting companies like MuSigma, Deloitte, and IBM. The average package for BTech students is INR 13 LPA and between 6-8 LPA for MTech students. 

Overall, placements are similar in all the 3 NITs, NIT Warangal, Trichy, and Surathkal.

NIT Warangal is one of the top NITs so the placements for every branch are great. 1st-year students receive internship offers from February. Placement opportunities are available in the second year also. It is better to get some practical exposure through internships rather than staying in college.

Many reputed VLSI companies visit the college for placements and internships like Intel, Nvidia, AMD, AMS, Xilinx, Analog Devices, Mediatek, cypress semiconductor, microchip etc

Overall, if you want to secure good packages, work hard in the first year and maintain good grades. Getting internship offers does not necessarily mean you will get laced. So dont give up on the hard work!

Like most engineering institutes, placements at NIT Warangal are broadly categorized to CS and Non CS placements. Currently, the huge batch size has made placements a more competitive sport. Students go through a number of emotions before sitting for placements. Most students are able to secure good packages and jobs given the fact that NIT Warangal admits the best minds of the country. 

The placement process is complex and students have to go through a number of screening processes from Aptitude Test, Coding Test, Group Discussions, and several peer-to-peers interview sessions with company employees to the HR round. Every round evaluates you from a different angle to ensure thorough screening of the students.

Placements in NIT Warangal commence from mid-July. The first day is the most nerve-wracking experience for the students and their anxiety levels are high. Those who are able to manage the stress and perform excellently, end up with a good package and the celebration begins. Those who fail, feel embarrassed to face their peers. The companies keep visiting every alternate day in the first month so if you don't get selected, don't lose hope.

Civil is about learning and getting skills rather than getting placed with good packages. India is in desperate need of qualified civil engineers. Not every Civil Engineering graduate is skilled enough and yet is employed as an engineer leading to failure of structure and accidents. So your primary goal is to be knowledgeable and skilled rather than running after placements. There is also a huge scope of research outside India. Ultimately, bear in mind that you won’t be earning much initially as a civil engineer but with the passage of time you will earn a lot in terms of money and respect both. 

Frankly speaking, not all IT companies are open to all branches for placements. Most startups, management, and consulting companies give opportunities to students from all branches. High recruiters like Microsoft mostly prefer students from only the CSC, ECE, and EEE branches. Don’t lose hope; if you can maintain good grades over your semesters, then you will at least get placed in companies like NITW.

If you are highly passionate about the IT field, then prepare well and learn programming. Your hard work will pay off for sure.
