Internships Opportunities

We get internships through college support as well as on our own. The stipend is usually around ₹5,000, though some companies offer internships without a stipend. Even when the internship is not stipend-based, I still gain valuable experience and learning opportunities. I got my internship at a startup.

Faculty

I really appreciate the faculty members — Bhavani madam, Shabana madam, and Srujana madam. They are excellent teachers who maintain a positive and supportive relationship with the students. All the faculty members are dedicated, and the overall quality of teaching is excellent.

You'll find a society for every interest of yours, the crowd is polished and good. There is daily some or the other happening at the college whether it be seminars, events, fests etc. There is also a large ground to play your favourite sports. Serveral Societies here have good alumni networks and can be of support during your placement preparations.

Faculty

The faculty ratio is decent in my opinion, each subject has various professors and assistant professors. Exam structure is a bit strict, you appear for your first Mid Sems in around September End, and Mid Term 2 in Mid November. There's a liniency towards Mid Sems, but you must overshadow your Mid Sem performance in End Sem and internals.

Campus Life

The college hosts annual cultural and technical festivals including: Youth Fest: Usually held in February, a week-long event with sports, dance, flash mobs, food fests, and competitions involving students from nearby colleges. Branch Fests: Conducted every few months for each department separately.Technical Expos and Hackathons: Opportunities to showcase projects and technical skills, typically timed with semester ends.Other events include NSS camps, blood donation drives, and awareness programs on social issues. The library is well-stocked with required textbooks, reference books, journals, and digital resources aligned with the JNTUA syllabus. Classrooms are spacious and digitally equipped with projectors and AV aids for smooth delivery of lectures.Computer labs are Wi-Fi enabled with 24/7 internet connectivity, supporting programming and research. Toastmasters Club for public speaking and leadership development. Sports, dance, singing, debate, and crafts clubs.Coding groups and group discussions to enhance technical and soft skills.Students can participate actively in organizing events and festivals, promoting teamwork and cultural bonds.

Faculty

It maintains an approachable faculty culture with a healthy faculty-to-student ratio, structured semester exams, and a curriculum focused on professional development. The course follows the JNTUA university-affiliated curriculum, blending theory and practicals; the structure balances classroom teaching with mandatory labs and project work.Curriculum is relevant to industry needs, regularly updated, and provides options for internships and core electives, starting from the 6th semester.Discipline-specific electives and soft skills modules are integrated to boost employability.Curriculum is aligned to current tech and engineering trends, with portions dedicated to AI, robotics, and industry internships starting in later semesters.Failure rates are low, but supplementary support is provided for struggling students; reviews suggest most "failures" clear exams in the supplementary cycle.Faculty-student relationships at SSE are strong and mentoring-focused, though consistency can be affected by periodic turnover. Exams are challenging but fair, with a majority clearing on the first attempt, and the curriculum is highly relevant for career growth

Placement Experience

Placements at NITK Surathkal are very good overall, and the EEE department consistently sees a high percentage of students getting placed-85% to 90%+ However the placement profiles and salaries vary a lot depending on whether you go core electrical jobs , software/IT jobs we students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester companies start arriving fro pre placement talks and tests ,some students also get PPOs done in the 3rd year summer internshis companies visiting nitk for eee students are: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIEMENS ABB L&T TATA POWER BOSCH. My personal plans after getting degree is either get placed in a good company then later prepare for civils services examination.

Course Curriculum Overview

As a nitk student I'd rate the cirriculum around 4 to 4.5 in terms of relevance and compressiveness.it covers the fundamentals topics very well, and depending on the department. The reason i chose NITK was: Strong core foundation:NITK is known for its academic rigor and well-established programs.Subject like Computer networks,OS,Control systems in eee are taught in depth. Course structure:In the first years we will cover core engineernig subjects which gives a solid technical base. Research opportunities: NITK has research labs and faculty involved in good research, especially in ece, cse, eee, chemical etc. The curriculum is decent at preparing students for further academic pursuits like GATE,GRE or MSc/M.TECH. For industry readiness, especially in fields like software, electronic, or dat science students often have to go beyond the cirriculum. Most real-world tools.libraries, and practcial skill will be taught here.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution Fees at indian institute of technology, Guwahati is 1Lakh per semester . That means 2 lakh per annum.this is for general students (i belong). For ews and obc they get concessions under some conditions.the hostel and mess fees is 43,200 per semester , payable for every semester. 20k is one time fee at time of admission.I haven't got any scholarships. Merit cum means scholarship is there in institute if I'm in class top 25 percentage

Course Curriculum Overview

I personally like electronics and curriculum is not that good, outdated.the curriculum is outdated so it doesn't make you ready for real world. You have to work on your own for it.I feel curriculum should be updated and focus on core subjects rather than math physics kind of thing . The curriculum should be updated for modern world. Exams are quite frequent a sem exam in 2 monthsa quiz in between them and before.

Course Curriculum Overview

I liked the course as I was interested in this, but if u don't like the branch then also it's fine because when u make good friends u will like all stuffs , As we have to 75% attendance in 1st sem , after that if u are 9 + cgpa then u don't need to attend classes . Exams are little bit tough in CAT2 other wise CAT1 and fat paper is really easy u can score good marks .

Ques. What is the difference between EEE, EnI and ECE at BITS, Pilani?

● Top Answer By Prateek Sharma on 05 Aug 23

Ans. BITS Pilani does not offer an Electronics and Communication Engineering Program. When comes to ENL and EEE, there are some key points you should keep in mind as an applicant, which are listed below Opportunities – In the current scenario, EEE opens up more opportunities than ENL. For Instance, the Indian Engineering Examination is only applicable to students from ECE and EEE Campus – BITS Pilani is far better than BITS Hyderabad as they have well-equipped lab and infrastructure Placement – The three batches can sit for the placement, but the companies give more weight to Communication and Digital Signal Processing So, it is better to choose EEE than ENL at BITS Pilani.Read more

Ques. How is EEE at NIT Calicut?

● Top Answer By Devesh Saraf on 25 Apr 23

Ans. If you are considering studying at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, here are some important points to keep in mind: Academics: The curriculum was last updated in 2017, and there is very little emphasis on practical applications. The syllabus is designed to help you crack exams like GATE, but there may be pressure in some semesters and a lot of free time in others. Simulation software is not taught as part of the curriculum, so it's a good idea to attend workshops conducted by various clubs and student groups. Despite these challenges, many students secure admission in various IITs and IIMs every year. Faculty: While some of the faculty members are enthusiastic about teaching, others may not have a strong grasp of the subject or may not be interested in teaching. Because there is a shortage of permanent faculty in some departments, some courses (especially electives) may be taught by ad-hoc staff with little or no teaching experience. It's important to choose your electives wisely to ensure that you get the best education possible. Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-equipped, and there is usually no shortage of equipment in the labs. However, the UG labs may be crowded, and you may need to do experiments in groups of 3 or 4 students in hot and humid weather conditions. Placements: Many core companies like Bosch, Schneider Electric, ABB, Larsen, and Toubro visit the campus for placements. For electrical profile jobs, the packages may not be very high. For electronics profile jobs, companies like Texas Instruments and Tektronix hire students from EEE backgrounds. There are also many software and consultancy companies that hire EEE students. The average placement rate is usually around 70-75%. Going abroad: The department has a good record of students being accepted for MS programs in renowned universities abroad. If you have plans to go abroad for an MS, it's important to choose your electives carefully and select your project and guide wisely to get a strong recommendation.Read more

Ques. What is better: EEE at BITS Hyderabad or CS at VIT Vellore?

● Top Answer By Sanjana Kapoor on 22 Dec 23

Ans. As a former EEE student at BITS Goa, I would not recommend taking up EEE at BITS Hyderabad if you want a career in the field of software engineering.  Here are the reasons why- The coding involved in EEE is not enough. You’ll code in MATLAB, which is rarely used in the IT sector. You’ll have to devote extra time to learning Python, Java, and other languages.  CS involves much more than coding, all of which you’ll miss out on. Elective courses like OS, DSA, Comp Arch have very limited seats, and not everyone gets to pick them. Also, you’ll get these courses by your third or fourth year. By then you’ll either be under too much pressure to complete your main syllabus or it’ll be too late because the placement season will have begun. Top IT companies don’t open for non CS candidates, and even for the companies that do, you’ll have to compete with CS students. BITS will give you all the necessary exposure, quality education and opportunities. However, as a non IT student you’ll still find difficulty in getting an IT job via campus placements. Based on all these points, I would recommend choosing CSE at VIT for better job prospects in the IT sector.Read more

Ques. Which one is better: aerospace engineering in IIT Kanpur, aerospace engineering in IIT Madras, mechanical engineering IIT BHU, or ECE in IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Lovish Bajaj on 21 Jun 24

Ans. I am a student of B.Tech Aerospace at IIT Madras. IIT Madras is a top engineering institution in India, and a degree from here can easily land you an offer to complete your higher education in Ivy League colleges (if you are among the top 10% in your batch). You may even land a job offer at prestigious institutions like ISRO once you graduate.  Here is a comparison among IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras and IIT BHU: Parameters IIT Madras Aerospace IIT Kanpur Aerospace (2024, Phase 1 placements) IIT BHU Mechanical IIT BHU Electronics NIRF 2023 Engineering Ranking 1 4 15 15 Highest CTC 2023 INR 66.26 LPA - INR 91.19 LPA INR 50 LPA Average CTC - INR 20.1 LPA INR 21.95 LPA INR 29.56 LPA Median CTC 2023 INR 14.10 LPA INR 17.7 LPA INR 18.12 LPA INR 30 LPA Top Recruiters HUL, ISRO, DRDO, and other aviation companies. Eaton, GE, Airbus, Honeywell, ISRO, L&T , etc.  Maruti, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, etc. Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Bosch, etc.  It is evident from the following data that in terms of placements, the Mechanical and Electronics branches of IIT BHU are better. But if you have the slightest interest in Aerospace Engineering, IIT Madras will open plenty of opportunities for you in this sector. If research/higher studies interest you, IIT Madras is the best option due to its superior reputation. You’ll get to work at some of the best organizations like HUL, ISRO, and DRDO. Moreover, you’ll be exposed to world-class infrastructure, and some of the best professors.  So if you have an interest in Aerospace Engineering, I would suggest you opt for IIT Madras over all the other options. Read more

Ques. How are placements for EEE at BIT Mesra, and does the big electrical MNC visit the campus?

● Top Answer By Utsav Patranabish on 16 Aug 23

Ans. The placements for EEE at BIT Mesra differ according to the year. However, they are not as good as they were a decade ago. Since the advent of GATE for the recruitment process of PSUs, they have stopped recruiting students from the campus. A wide range of companies allows BIT Mesra EEE students to sit for the placement process- Coders are offered packages from Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, Direct-I, etc. Freescale offers jobs to those who are good at core electronics.  TATA Steel, Maruti, Mahindra, L&T, Trident, Mitsubishi, Orient, etc. offer positions to those who are good at core electrical. EXl, Mu-sigma, Stellium, etc. recruit students with good analytical skills. Unless you are passionate about coding, as a EEE student, it is unlikely for you to be good at it, that is too good enough to beat a CSE/IT candidate. Also, EEE at BIT Mesra is negligent towards electronics. Therefore, in reality, only the last two categories are left for EEE students. Thus, as a EEE student at BIT Mesra, you can get placed in the core electrical companies or companies like EXE, Stellium, etc. But if you wish to go for core electronics or coding, you will have to strengthen your knowledge and skills in these domains, all by yourself. The above-mentioned companies are the big MNCs that visit the campus with core electrical profiles.Read more

Ques. What is your review about NIT Trichy EEE branch?

● Top Answer By Shrija Param on 19 Oct 23

Ans. B.Tech EEE is the most hectic course offered by NIT Trichy.  As a B.Tech EEE student, you’ll have classes and labs all day long. The faculty is experienced. Most of them are friendly and supportive, but you can only rely on self-study. You’ll have some of the brightest students as your peers. Try to befriend some of them as they will help you a lot in studies.  NIT Trichy is comparable to some of the old IITs, in terms of placements. Almost all the students of B.Tech EEE are successfully placed each year, and some of them even bag multiple offers. Those who don’t sit for placements, opt for higher studies in prestigious Indian and foreign universities.  NIT Trichy will offer you an awesome campus culture, and lifelong memories. Its EEE branch is hectic, but rewarding at the same time.Read more
