How is EEE at NIT Calicut?

If you are considering studying at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, here are some important points to keep in mind: Academics: The curriculum was last updated in 2017, and there is very little emphasis on practical applications. The syllabus is designed to help you crack exams like GATE, but there may be pressure in some semesters and a lot of free time in others. Simulation software is not taught as part of the curriculum, so it's a good idea to attend workshops conducted by various clubs and student groups. Despite these challenges, many students secure admission in various IITs and IIMs every year. Faculty: While some of the faculty members are enthusiastic about teaching, others may not have a strong grasp of the subject or may not be interested in teaching. Because there is a shortage of permanent faculty in some departments, some courses (especially electives) may be taught by ad-hoc staff with little or no teaching experience. It's important to choose your electives wisely to ensure that you get the best education possible. Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-equipped, and there is usually no shortage of equipment in the labs. However, the UG labs may be crowded, and you may need to do experiments in groups of 3 or 4 students in hot and humid weather conditions. Placements: Many core companies like Bosch, Schneider Electric, ABB, Larsen, and Toubro visit the campus for placements. For electrical profile jobs, the packages may not be very high. For electronics profile jobs, companies like Texas Instruments and Tektronix hire students from EEE backgrounds. There are also many software and consultancy companies that hire EEE students. The average placement rate is usually around 70-75%. Going abroad: The department has a good record of students being accepted for MS programs in renowned universities abroad. If you have plans to go abroad for an MS, it's important to choose your electives carefully and select your project and guide wisely to get a strong recommendation.

Should I go for nit Calicut eee or bits hyderabad ece??please provide details on both(median package and opportunities and scope)

Between NIT Calicut and BITS Hyderabad, the latter is the better option irrespective of the branch you are getting. Here are a few points of difference between the two institutes. BITS Hyderabad EEE placements are great and students get placed in core electronics companies such as NVIDIA, National Instruments, Texas Instruments, MediaTek, etc while NIT Calicut has very few core companies and students are usually placed in IT companies. BITS Hyderabad charges very high fees whereas NIT Calicut charges average fees. BITS Hyderabad offers a better exposure and research culture in comparison to NIT Calicut. BITS Hyderabad has an excellent faculty pool and the labs are equipped with modern instruments much better than NIT Calicut. In my opinion, BITS Hyderabad should be your preference provided that you have no monetary issues.

My 4 years of btech in NITC

We pay the fee after each semester,which is 66500 per semester .Scholarships are available for financially weaker students and SC/ST students.Students having annual income less than 1 lack are exempted from paying tuition fess,while those with an annual income below 5 lack only need to pay one-third of the tuition fee.Still tuition fee is high compared to colleges under KTU(kerala technical universities) and comparable with top private colleges.But cheaper than IITs.It will cost around 8 to 9 lacks for four years including mess and hostel fees.

the yearly fee for open category and obc students is 125000/- if the income is below 5 lakh then the fee is around 75000. For sc and st there is no tution fee they will have to pay only hostel fee. At the time of admission every student has to pay an amount of 75000 which includes caution deposit, hostel management fee, security fee,library fee, and many more.NSS scholarship, kotak kanya, reliance scholarships any many other can be applicable here

While joining the institute, you have to pay approximately 1,50,000 including tution, hostel, mess and caution fee. The tution fee per sem is nearly 67,000 and hostel, mess fee is 22,000. Other fee you have to pay is nearly 15,000 which includes caution, admission, development and lab fee. If you are from SC/ST or your income is below 1lakh per year, then there is no tution fee. All you have to pay is hostel and mess fee. NSP scholarship is available for students.

First year experience in NIT CALICUT for a DASA category

So I joined the college 3 months before and my end sems are coming up in the next month. As a DASA student I'm paying around 3,00,000/- Per sem. I have applied for a scholarship which avails from my country where I passed my 12th grade from. For completing my admission it took me an approx of 4,00,000/-. So there are other categories like CIWG and the normal candidates like JOSA. These two categories will be paying 2,00,000/- per year at approx. under JOSA category there are a range of other categories too. Where they do not have tuition fees and hostel fees some of them are OBC, SC, ST etc. Now for in scholarships, different categories got different scholarships for example Keralite students got a scholarship called EGRANTZ. And other bank type scholarships.

Average experience of a student at NITC

Generally as a reservation candidate the fee structure is less than that of a general candidate. The semister fees may vary between 12000 to 20000 accordingly for every semister. For general candidates it may vary between 30000 to 50000. For hostel fee, starting we paid 50000 and then for the next semister it reduced to 35000 approx for every semister

Hello Nitc

NITC provide scholarship for the students.Reservation for the Sc/St students also available. Fee weaver for PWD and EWS candidates also there. For Reservation candidates 16217 is the semester fee . For non Reservation or people not having EWS they have to pay 78000 per semester. For scholarship around we get 20000.
