The campus is lush green, and the hostel and mess facilities are good, there are few canteens. The boys to girl ratio are like 4:1.

The wifi facility in hostel is okok, can be acceptable. The taste food in mess in also okok.

Hostel Facilities:

For 1st years(boys) it will be triple sharing, for 2nd and 3rd it is double sharing and for fourth it is single rooms.There will be cupboards, desks, chairs and also wifi facility in hostel. the hostels also have hotwater facility for bathing and there will be water purifiers in every floor for drinking water. There are washing machines also. The quality of mess food iis good and the taste is avarage.The regestiration for 1st years will be done on the day of physical reporting and for others it will be in an app called NITC Hostels.

Nit Calicut - Good Side and Worse Side

Hostel Facilities:

the first year hostels is old but decent. from 2nd year you will be in mega hostel where no signal in most rooms. and small rooms too as it has only 2 people per room. there are many messes over here which offer different style of foods we can opt every month, which we need. registration process is very easy through app.

The college hostels itself is the best option to stay . The feel there is also a different. Also having all 3 meals with friends from mess is also kinda Anamnesis frame while thinking from past. Defenitely College hostels are the right choice.

Hostel Facilities:

The NITC college offers well equipped hostel facilities for stude ts the campus has 15 hostel in total with 13 male hostel and 2 for the female students.The accomadating a vibrant community of students each hostel includes common rooms and entertainment areas of the providing access to the paper for the knowledge. The hostels are equipped with high speed wi-fi and lan connectuons lifts,hot water availability building with rooms and sufficient common washrooms and facilties.

Very vibrant college life at NITC

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel facilities vary according to hostel allocated. E being the oldest and MBH being the latest. Well maintained mostly. D and F hostels are favored because eof their proximity to the main building and facilities. MBH has the best facilities but it takes around 20 mins walk to reach main building from there. Bus services are available. All hostels have 2000 per month rent which will be added to mess dues Kozhikoden food is the absolute best, no complaints at all if you are choosing the right mess. Both north and south indian food available. Exclusive Veg mess is also there.

hostel fee is around 2000 per month and mess fee is around 45000 + additional acording to consumption . food is good in hostel. its really affordable. the hotel doesn't provide high-end facilities but we do have common room with tv and gamming and other games like table tennis ,carrom ect

Hostel Facilities:

i didnt take any PG .Im staying in hostel since first year.it is affordable I guess.2400 rs per month.In first year there will be 4 students per room,second and third year there will two students per room.For final year you will get single room.Rooms are okaying.New mega rooms are great but if you get other hostel,not that good

Hostel room is 3 people sharing. One bed,one table,one closet for every student. Meal quality is not bad and not good. Sometimes message food is very bad and sometimes good Everyone can get in to hostel easily It is affordable hostel.

the campus is full of trees and the infrastructure gives different vibes as well. the communication has improved a lot to me. there are many sport activities going often.hostels are good and the people are very nice

No, NIT Calicut does not have single occupancy for PG students as of now.

First Year – You will be accommodated in the professor’s apartment,t which consists of three rooms, one hall, and a kitchen. You need to share your room with at least three people, which may vary based on the number of students.

Second Year – The students will be shifted to MBA hostels, which are much like first-year apartments with an attached bathroom

So, you don’t have a chance to enjoy single-room life at NIT Calicut

NIT Calicut first-year students are allotted 2 hostels namely

Hostel A: This room has 3 beds, cupboards, and tables. Although the rooms are triple occupancy, 4 students are made to stay together
PG-1 : This hostel has double occupancy rooms only although the rooms are smaller in size than Hostel A.

In my opinion, it's better to get Hostel A because the rooms are spacious and it has better facilities than PG-1. From what I have heard, PG-1 mess has better food than Hostel A but that does not really matter because you can change your mess after a few months. The internet facilities are poor and this matter needs to be taken care of. The restrictions are imposed on first-year students but from the second year, students are free to do as their will. Trust me hostel life is much more than comfortable beds and mess food. It's about the friends you make and the memories you create!

My brother was a student at NIT Calicut so I have information on the boy's hostel only. The first-year students are allocated to 2 hostels namely Hostel A and Hostel PG-1.

Hostel A

Triple Occupancy rooms.
Each room has one table and cupboards with locks per person.

Hostel PG-1

Very small rooms for 2 people.
The room has a single table only with no specific cupboards.

Hostel A seems to have better facilities than PG-. So if you get the second one, be ready to compromise on many things with your roommate.

Here are a few common amenities that can be found in both the boys' hostel

A mess that serves food only to the first-year students. The food served here is average with more veg and less non-veg options.
Well-maintained and clean bathrooms and toilets.

No, staying in the NIT Calicut hostel for a PG student is not at all compulsory. The administration will ask you to be available throughout the day on the campus and staying in the hostel comes under the residential program but it's not compulsory. No one can force you to avail of hostels.

Staying in the other hostels or PG would be costlier and the hostels at NIT Calicut are supposed to be cheaper. There are a number of rooms with AC within 150 meters from the campus in or near Koyyapuram Apartments.

Therefore, it depends on your will whether to stay in a hostel or anywhere outside the campus and no one can interfere in your decision.

Few of my friends attend NIT Calicut and they were able to give me some information regarding the hostel on campus.

More than half of the hostel buildings appear to be old and rustic. They were built about 50 years ago but they still serve the basic required standard.
Apart from your own room, everything else is cleaned almost every day. You will have to clean your room on your own.
The first-year students are allocated rooms based on a 4 sharing system.
For the second-year students who reside in hostel C, one room is allocated to three students. For those of the students who reside in Mega, the rooms are allocated on a two-sharing system.
For third-year students residing in hostels B and C, one room is shared by three students.
In the fourth year, usually, single rooms are allocated but due to renovation in hostel E, some of the rooms are allocated on a two-sharing basis.
The food at the messes is sometimes good and sometimes bad. If you are willing to spend some extra money, you can make up for it.
Internet connectivity is good. On some days the download speed goes up to 12 megabytes per second.
From the second year onwards, there is no restriction imposed on boys regarding entry/exit time. Girls have permission to stay out till 9 pm.

NIT Calicut hostels are good in comparison to many engineering institutions in the country. You will enjoy your engineering life at the hostels there.

NITC MBA hostel is one of the newest hostels on the campus. The MBA hostel is exclusively for boys, and the rooms are large enough for two people. Each room has two beds (no mattress), two tables, two chairs, two almirah, one fan, one tube light, and two windows.

For every two rooms, there is a shared bathroom. The hostel also has a good laundry service. The mess is close to the hostel. Overall, it's a very nice hostel with good facilities and lots of greenery. The hostel has the capacity to accommodate around 300 students, including visiting faculty.

A separate ultra-modern hostel facility for girls is also available. The girls' hostel has a mini-canteen, an indoor shuttle court, a gymnasium, and an extension of the co-operative society store.

How are the hostel facilities for M.Tech students in NIT Calicut?

The students of M.Tech at NIT Calicut are provided with double sharing rooms in the mega hostels and MBA hostels.
The hostel rooms are allotted on the basis of first come first serve.
The hostel is well equipped with all the basic amenities.
You will not be provided with an internet connection and have to arrange it yourselves.
The mega hostel is not very far from the campus however the MBA hostel is quite far from the main campus.
However, the institute has arranged transportation facilities for the students for travelling from hostel to campus every 30 minutes.

It would be recommended to talk to the current student of this college, as they can give you a better picture of the current scenario.

The NIT Calicut hostel facilities are very well to live in. There are 11 hostels equipped with various facilities such as furniture, 24x7 water supply and electricity. Mess is available in every hostel and can choose mess of your choice. Gym, Badminton, Basketball facilities are also available in hostel.
