NIT Calicut offers an array of scholarships for its students enrolled among the different programs offered by the institute. Each scholarship of NIT Calicut has its own eligibility criteria and each individual is awarded only one scholarship among all only after he/she satisfies the minimum requirements. Also, the students are required to renew their scholarship each semester/year without having any backlogs. Some of the most popular scholarships offered at NIT Calicut are mentioned below.

Ans. NIT Calicut has renewal criteria for each scholarship offered by the institute such as a minimum CGPA in the last semester, annual family income, etc. Students are required to meet the basic requirements for the renewal of scholarships.

Total fee including hostel and mess is 180000. But there is 66% off for studeents who has income below 5 lakhs for students with income above 5 lakhs has to pay full fee for students with income between 1-5 lakhs has 66% off for students with income below 1 lakh has 100% off.
I am paying around 125000 per year tution fees and 60000 hostel fees and I will be paying the same amount for the four years of my graduation for sc and st students the fees is around 9000 for hostels

there is a tuition fee of 1,25,000 for GEN,OBC, and EWS students with income greater than 5 lakhs.if yu=our income is in between 1 to 5 lakhs,tuition fee of yearly 41,667.if your income is lesss than 1 lakh or for SC,ST,PwD there is no tuition fee. and an additional 20 thousand for odd semesters and 13,000 for even semesters as extra bills.there is a onetime fee pf 53,000 also.We also pay a fee of 13,000 per sem for hostels plus 20,000 advance to mess bills at the start of each sem

For each semester, the fees will be 62.5k in the general case. Fees will vary based on the annual income as well as the community you belong to like SC/ST, GEN-EWS. For people whose citizenship is not India,their fees will be separate.
Tution Fee is based on income criteria. If annual family income is greater than 5 lakh, students will have to pay 125000 per annum. if its between 1 lakh and 5 lakh, the fee will be 1/3 rd of 125000 and for students with their family income less than 1 lakh complete waiver on tution fee is available. Apart from that students have to pay Rs.4792 at beginning of monsson semester and Rs.1950 at beginning of winter semester which comprise of all other fee including exam fees, interent fee, sports fees, computing centre fee and student activities fee. At the joing time for the course students have to pay a one time caution deposit of Rs.15000 which is refundable.

year wise fees i paid is nearly 1.5 to 2 lakhs. Tuition fees is 1.4lakhs, caution fees is 20000, registration fees is 3000, admission fees is 3000, development fees is 10000, lab fees is 3000. Our batchmates who is SC caste won't pay tuition fee.
Admission fee involves fees to the JOSAA authorities(1 lac 75k). Btech: Tuition fees in college for general/obc (above 5 lakh income) = 75.5k General/obc (1-5 lakh) = 33834 General/obc(less rhan 1 lac) /sc/st = 13k B.arch: General/obc(above 5 lac) = 80.5k General/obc(1-5 lac) = 38834 General/obc(less than 1 lac)/sc/st = 18k. Lots of scholarship opportunities for female students, sc st students, low income students. Huge number of scholarships are available. Not many scholarships for general male with above 5 lac income.

I AM PAYING 62000 RUPEES EVERY SEMESTER FOR TUTION AND 38000 RUPEES FOR HOSTEL AND MESS.THOSE WHO HAVE FAMILY INCOME BETWEEN 1 AND 5 LAKH ONLY HAVE TO PAY 33000 RUPEES FOR TUTION BUT 38000 RUPEES FOR HOSTEL.FOR THOSE HAVE FAMILY INCOME LESS THAN 1 LAKH HAVE NO TUTION FEE BUT 38000 RUPEES AS HOSTEL FEE.BUT WHO HAVE SC AND ST CATEGORIES ALSO DON'T HAVE TO PAY ANY TUTION AND HOSTEL FEE.THERE IS E-GRANTZ SCHOLARSHIP FOR KERALIETES WHO AS FAMILY INCOME LESS HAN 2.5 LAKH RUPEES.THERE ARE MANY SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE FOR YOU WILL BE INFORMED THROUGH COLLEGE EMAIL.

Yes, there are various scholarships available for OBC students studying at NIT Calicut. There is one scholarship called MOMA, it is a Merit cum scholarship. It is of national level Central government funded scholarships. State government funded scholarships are also available.
All OBC students are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The notification for this scholarship will be displayed in the academic building. The student can ask the dates for the form from the seniors.
For all the information, one can visit the district welfare department website and get the required information. One can also talk to a fellow senior student and know all the requirements and information of the scholarship.

To apply for a fee waiver program, you have to produce a income certificate and have to use throughout JOSAA Counselling and submit at the time of admission.
You can avail the benefit of various scholarships other than the Merti scholarships, such as:
E-Grantz:
E-Grantz is a web-based solution for the timely disbursement of educational assistance for all the post-matric students belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories in Kerala.
The E-Grantz are only available for the students whose parents are permanent residents of Kerala with an annual family income of less than INR 6 lakhs.
A student should have maintained a minimum of 75% attendance to get E-Grantz benefits.
The benefits or E-Grantz at NIT Calicut includes:
Reimbursement of all fees except caution deposit
Mess fees up to INR 3500 per month
Laptop computer at the beginning of the course
Pocket money INR 250 per month for hostellers and INR 750 per month for day scholars.
Central Sector –Top Class For SC/ST Students:
The Central Sector Top Class Scholarship Scheme is specially designated to the students of SC/ST categories to promote quality education among them.
Any student of the SC/ST category from any part of the country having an annual family income of less than INR 4,50,000 can avail of the facility of Central Sector Top Class Scholarship Schemes.
The scholarship is completely merit-based and the previous academic performance of a student will be considered for renewal of the scholarship award.
A full tuition fee waiver is offered to the student under this scholarship scheme along with some other benefits such as:
Hostel expenses with a limitation of INR 2200 per month
Laptop/ Computer worth INR 45,000 at the beginning of the course
INR 3000 for Books and stationery expenses.
