A Honest review on NIT W

I would rate the curriculum a 9 out of 10. The curriculum almost feels perfect but they are lacking in in making the schedule for classes, as classes get postponed or get cancelled. Except these things everything is perfect. They conduct exams every 4-5 weeks or 1/4 semester. The assignments are very helpful in understanding how to apply the things we learn in real time.

I didn't apply any interships yet but I got to know that there are wide range of internships to apply where some of them are also paid internships with around 10k per month. We also have a Design Thinking class which helps us improve on how to do projects and present them.

From around 6th semester students are eligible to participate in placements. The are a lot of reputed companies who visit our college due to our outstanding students. Lot of offers will be made and in 2024 the highest package is around 88 lpa. For the Civil Engineering branch the average package is around 10.2 lpa. Almost 85 percent of the students get placed in our college every year. Others aquire jobs after the college and some of the students persue higher studies in reputed IITs . My plans after a degree is to go for higher studies in reputed IITs like IIIT Kharagpur or IIT Kanpur.

The tution fee is around 62k per semester, caution money is of 15k, admission fee will be taken in josaa, there is also a few called other fee which includes fee like lab, electricity etc. For SC/ST Students there is no need to pay tution fee. For below 5 lakh income people of General Category students also there is no need to pay tution fee

There are a nice amount of fests which take place but the most famous ones are Spring Spree and Technozion. The library here is very large such that we may get lost and there are wide and numerous books to study and research on. And coming to classrooms each and every class is good and each class has a projector, a smart board for the teacher to present ppt or other documents. About sports, there is an Inter NIT Sports event which takes place every year. Each stram has 2 Physical Excersice Classes every week, one in the morning one in the evening. There are lot of clubs to join here. Each and every student is encouraged to join these clubs even if they are not good at. Clubs conduct mini events so that students can participate and enjoy themselves. These clubs do not disturb student's educational life.

A cupboard, a single light and a fan, a bed, a study table and a char to sit on. The menu is good they serve a wide range of foods which include south and north indian foods but the taste of those foods is average. The registration process for the hostel accommodation was very easy. It is also affordable a bit.

I applied for prestigious colleges like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Rourkela. I have applied for CSE AI in some IIITs like IIIT Allahabad, IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Kancheepuram. I chose this college as I didn't get CSE in those colleges and my second intrest was Civil Engineering in top NITs. The rank I achieved in JEE Mains wasn't enough to get into those colleges. The admission process of this college was to get a good rank in JEE Mains examination and apply for councelling. The cut-off for the Homestate OBC candidate was around 98 percentile in the JEE Mains examination. The admission process was easy but they collected a lot of fee to claim the seat in the college even before it starts. That part was a bit of inconvenient for me

The Faculty was very good to be Frank. If a student asks doubts they always reach out and help students. I specially like my P&DS lecturer. There are around 4-5 exams including the minors,mid and end semesters. The assignment the lecturers give are also helpful to build skills.
