I choose civil engineering over mechanical and metallurgy because the syllabus of civil engineering can also help in crackin upse ies examination.. There are so many practicals and labs in each subject to provide practical knowledge. I think we can reduce some syllabus to make its more precise and focused In each month there may be a test or a exam

As of now I am in the 1 year so I don't have that much knowledge about this topic but I heard that there were so many companies who comes to the campus and offer internships as well as per placements offer .

From 3rd year onwards a student is eligible for placements in college .many companies come for interview and they give good placements .. 74 percent students get placed in previous year .... My plan after this course is to persue mtech and then crack upse ies examination

Academic Yearly fees if you have no fee waiver of low family income and sc/st fee waiver is approx 1lakh 36 thousand ...and also 1 year hostel and mess charge is 54000..first time you have to pay 15000 caution money as well in hostel which will be refunded... And there are two basis of fee waiver one is based on family income if your family income is less than 1 lakh per year you don't have to pay any tution fee which is 1 lakh 25 thousand per year ..and if income is less than 5 lakh per annum than you have to 1/4 of tution fee only ... Also there is caste based fee waiver according to which sc/st students dont need to pay any tution fee....but hostel and mess fee is same for all people

Annual cultural fest is known as spring spree which is organised in the month of January and the technical fest is known as technozian which is organised in the month of oct or November.. There are wide range of books ,journals and magazines collections in Library that can be accessed to read there in the Library or can be issued for some time .. Classrooms are above the average ..smart board and black boards are there in the classrooms and benches are in good condition.but there is no air conditioners in the classrooms.. Sports facilities in this college is really awesome.you can play and master any sports here ,here all sports are available.. And there are several clubs and organisations run by students itself in the institute..for various purposes like dance , singing,coding etc.

In btech first year you get room in hostel called 1.8k .and the room occupancy is 2 people.there will be 2 table and chairs also two bed and cupboards..one fan and one tube light. Mess food is not that much good there is too much crowd in the mess during mess timings..and foods are not tasty. During reporting time you get room allotment and mess card ..and fees of 1 semester for accomodation and food is 27000.

I also applied for nit Rourkela and not surathakal. And I can get admission in both colleges but I prefer this college because of its alumi network and strong academics.. Also one of the factor is distance from my home .. This college needs jee mains percentile for admission..and through jossa and csab counseling

In my class civil engineering department there are 2 sections 58 students each hence for first year students: professor is =58:1 Here some faculties are too friendly and joyful.but some are damm serious ..and each professors ask the students to come up with the doubt.. Dr.kashinath sir my engineering chemistry teacher is favourite one because he teach the concepts in jolly behaviour.. My programming and data structure is too bad ..he speaks too slowly and just read the ppts.. There are 2 minors and 1 mid semester and 1 end semester exams ...
