nit trichy has best placement cell in every aspecr.it has an excellent track record of placing student of all fields. even the core branch students also get oppurtunity to apply for other tech ,management and other job profiles.

while there is so much oppurtunity for placements but still the students of core branches feel difficulty in getting good packages and sometimes even getting placed.

students can avail placement from 7th semsester.this timeline allows students to focus on academic and internship during the earlir semesters while prepsring for placement in senior years. on an average 80 to 90 % students get placed in capus placements every year. the highest package offered last year was approx 80 lpa for some civil guy. all the companies which visit iit madras comes to nit trichy also like ggogle,microsoft,amazon,accenture,wipro etc.

NIT TRICHY PRIDE OF INDIA

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible for campus placement from 7th semester. Top companies inlcuded Google, Honeywell, HP, Oracle, Morgan Stanley, Nvidia, and many more. After asking some seniors they told that the highest package was of around 53 LPA which was for multiple departments. Being a first year grad I don't know much about placements but as far as I know all the Branch has a placement percentage greater than 93-94%. Like for cse it is around 97% , ece and eee got 96% and for my branch production engineering it is somewhere between 94%. Average package for my branch in recent years is around 16LPA while the median is around 13LPA and the highest to be around 38LPA. Coming to my plans, I like mathematics a lot. So I have decided to learn machine learning and AI apart from my production engineering. We have decent companies offering a decent package for production engineering students pursuing some circuital skills.

NIT Trichy Experience thus far

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent. 60% of the roles on campus are software related. Most core branch students also prepare for coding or analytics related roles. Although I would say one must choose a circuital branch at a lower college over core branch here. Currently the IT Hiring is under recession so less jobs are seen on campus and even fewer internship openings particularly from Core Branches. Highest packages are between 50-90LPA on campus and average for CSE would be around 25LPA, for ECE, EEE 20LPA and core branches 12-15LPA. Pre Recession placements percentage was upwards of 90% for every department and nearly 100% for CSE. I ultimately plan to get an MBA or an MS in Finance abroad. Before that I would want to get some experience as an analyst at a buy side firm or a bank.

CSE : The placements for the CSE branch are the best in NIT Warangal as well as Trichy and Surathkal. Students are placed in huge software giants like Microsoft, D.E.Shaw, Adobe, Directi, Tower Research Capital, Cisco, IBM, and some Investment Bankers like Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, etc The average package of CSE recorded this year was INR 30.8 LPA for BTech while INR 30.43 LPA for MTech.
ECE - The companies coming on the first day of placements are Qualcomm, Broadcom, Nvidia, SanDisk India, Redpine Signals, Samsung, and Caterpillar, etc., Software companies like Cisco, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Oracle, etc allow ECE students to sit for placements. So, it’s better to sum for a better branch rather than blaming the institute. Some might deceive you into believing that the tag of the college matters more than anything. But in reality, it all depends on the branch you choose. Sometimes the JEE coaching centers promote IITs to a large extent that people tend to go for an under-average branch just for the IIT tag. I warn you against this as your career depends on your branch.

Generalizing the issue, if you happen to have a choice between lower branches at top engineering colleges like new IITs, NITs and higher branches in tier-1 colleges like BITS, CEG, and NSIT, I will say go for the latter.

A lot depends on your attitude towards that particular subject and your communication skills. You should have leadership qualities.
