NIT Trichy Placement 2025: Highest Package, Average Package, Top Recruiters

It is not about placement and companies coming to NIT Trichy; it is about students participating in events all year. Without a doubt, Academics, Ambiance, Library, and Good Hostels are the Foundation for them to prepare for their placements and transition from Academia to Industry.

However, participation in sports, events, seminars, conferences, Technical Lectures, Cultures, Tech Meets, Competitions, freelance projects, interdisciplinary research, and a traveling-ready mentality prepares them for placement. 

According to some media reports, 90% of UG students have already been placed. For PG courses, the placement rate has so far been 85%. The full set of statistics has yet to be released.

Previously in 2021, the overall placement rate for undergraduate and graduate courses was 86.5% and 83.3%, respectively. According to official reports, 283 companies participated in the 2021 PG course recruitment drive.

NIT Trichy placements for CSE are comparable to the placements of many IITs. Companies such as Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, Morgan Stanley, etc. are the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 17 LPA - 24 LPA. As per the recent placement highlights, the highest CTC goes up to INR 1 Crore per annum. 

NIT Trichy has excellent placements that are at par with the top engineering colleges in the country. It's because of its improving placement scenario that it has been able to attract the best JEE rankers from across the country. In NIT Trichy Placements 2022, the highest package stood at INR 40 LPA. The UG students attained 90.9% placements while the PG students attained 92.9% placements.

A total of 43 recruiters visited the campus some of the most reputed being HCL, Godrej, Wipro, Google, Adani etc. Here are the branch-wise placement statistics for the year 2021-2022

The placement scenario of NIT Warangal, Surathkal, and Trichy is somewhat the same with minor differences only. One of my friends studied at NIT Warangal and shed some light on the placement scenario there. Here is a branch-wise analysis 

• CSE : The placements for the CSE branch are the best in NIT Warangal as well as Trichy and Surathkal. Students are placed in huge software giants like Microsoft, D.E.Shaw, Adobe, Directi, Tower Research Capital, Cisco, IBM, and some Investment Bankers like Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, etc The average package of CSE recorded this year was INR 30.8 LPA for BTech while INR 30.43 LPA for MTech.
• ECE - The companies coming on the first day of placements are Qualcomm, Broadcom, Nvidia, SanDisk India, Redpine Signals, Samsung, and Caterpillar, etc., Software companies like Cisco, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Oracle, etc allow ECE students to sit for placements. The average package for BTech students is INR 23.6 LPA and for MTech students is around NR 20.4 LPA.
• EEE - Companies like Alstom, Reliance, and PSUs like Power Grid, IOCL, HPCL, etc., offer core profiles to EEE students. Additionally, software companies that come for ECE and CSE students also allow EEE students to sit for placements. The average package for EEE is INR 21.19 LPA for BTech students and between 11- 14.6 LPA for MTech students.
• Mechanical Engineering: Companies like Caterpillar, Michelin, Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Volvo, Larsen and T0ubro, Vizag Steel Plant(RINL), etc., recruit Mechanical Engineering students of NIT Rourkela. The average package is INR 12.4 LPA for BTech students and between 9-12 LPA for MTech students. 
• Chemical Engineering: The Chemical engineering students are usually recruited by companies such as Reliance Industries, Dr.Reddy's Laboratories, Michelin tires, and some PSUs. A few even opt for Management or Consulting companies like MuSigma, Deloitte, IBM, etc., The average package is INR 14.8 LPA for BTech students and between 8-11 LPA for MTech students. 
• Civil Engineering - This is one of the oldest NIT Warangal branches that has recruiters like the Sobha developers group etc., Students opt for Management or Consulting companies like MuSigma, Deloitte, and IBM. The average package for BTech students is INR 13 LPA and between 6-8 LPA for MTech students. 

Overall, placements are similar in all the 3 NITs, NIT Warangal, Trichy, and Surathkal.

Whether the placements are improving or getting worse depends on the branch you are referring to. In the case of CSE, placements can be seen improving every year due to increasing demand in the market whereas placements of other core branches are deteriorating every year. However, this scenario is similar not only in the case of NIT Trichy but even in other IITs. 

Students of core branches either

• Pursue MBA or MTech after BTech to get placed better in the core sector
• Start learning coding skills and sit for average IT companies 

So, it’s better to sum for a better branch rather than blaming the institute. Some might deceive you into believing that the tag of the college matters more than anything. But in reality, it all depends on the branch you choose. Sometimes the JEE coaching centers promote IITs to a large extent that people tend to go for an under-average branch just for the IIT tag. I warn you against this as your career depends on your branch. 

Generalizing the issue, if you happen to have a choice between lower branches at top engineering colleges like new IITs, NITs and higher branches in tier-1 colleges like BITS, CEG, and NSIT, I will say go for the latter.

NIT Trichy is among the top engineering colleges that have made its place owing to its increasing placement statistics. Many JEE Main toppers consider NIT Trichy their dream college now. The CSE branch of the institute witnesses the highest packages. 

NIT Trichy has not officially released the overall and course-wise average package for 2022. However, as per the NIT Trichy Engineering, Architecture and Management NIRF reports 2022, the course-wise median package offered during NIT Trichy placements 2021 is tabulated below:

In NIT Trichy Placements 2022, the highest package stood at INR 40 LPA. The UG batch recorded 90.9% placements whereas the PG batch recorded 92.9% placements. A total of 81 students were placed from the UG batch and NIT Trichy welcomed 43 recruiters. A few top recruiters included HCL, Godrej, Wipro, Google, Adani, etc.
