so for the exam structure...well there are mainly three exams which are: cycle test 1 and 2 and the end semester exam the both CTs are of 20 marks each and generally the end semester exam is of 40 marks and for rest marks you have to give assignments and sometimes quizzes or presentstions too. the exams are moderate and if you study even a few days before it you can still get a pretty good grade. The faculty members are quite approachable and friendlier but just do not get on their bad side. faculty and student relationship is quite good.

Most faculty are not approachable and not well versed in the subject matter. The CSE Adepartment especially is heavily understaffed. Few staff members are good teachers and make the subject engaging, like Professors Rajeshwari and Nithya. Course curriculum is slightly outdated. Number of papers depends on the semester. First year is for common courses, 8th semester is for internship/project/

The faculty members of this college are like that of all the colleges some of them are very good but some of them are here just to read the ppt and time pass you really have to study yourself for all the exams and labs the faculty to student ratio is not that good as most of the students don't go to faculty to clear their doubts so they clear their doubts by themselves. In the first year first semeseter the teachers were nice not all but most of them were nice espesially Dr. Kathik who taught us chemisty he used to teach without any ppt and some of the teachers just come and start reading the ppt i can't take the names of the teachers who i don't like due to obvious reasons they are at high posts. About the exams there are 3 exams conducted in the entire semester first one this CT1 then CT2 and then END SEM exams CT1 and CT2 are easy only which anyone can score good just by studying 1 or 2 days before the exam but for end sem exams one needs to start studying almost 10-15 days earlier because it consists of the entire syllabus apart of them we also have lab exams where we have to perform the experiment and answer the questions related to lab they mostly occur at the end of the semester.

NIT Trichy: 4 Answered Questions

Who is the best professor at NIT Trichy?

Rishabh BahlB.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2020)

I feel Dr. Raghavan from the ECE department deserves to be in the list of best professors at NIT Trichy. His teaching, question paper setting, and grading are on par with global standards.

Sir emphasizes on course projects, something unique to his teaching. He focuses on the big picture, instead of petty details. He never tests derivations straight off a book. His exams aren’t lengthy, rather they require logical thinking. He conducts pseudo open book exams. His methods especially stand out because usually question papers are unnecessarily lengthy, classroom lectures are simply textual recitations, and exam problems are straight out of textbook. Sir has an exceptional knowledge of his field, and his lectures are a delight for learners.

The best part is that sir always ends his lectures 5 minutes early.

Is it true that in NIT Trichy, Calicut, and other south colleges the professors teach in Malayalam or other regional languages?

Vaani SinghStudied at Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi (2017)

No, it's not true that professors in NIT Trichy, Calicut, and other South Indian schools teach in Malayalam or other regional languages. Most of the teachers are proficient in English and classes are conducted in that medium only. Occasionally some professors out of habit may speak a word or two in their regional language but it is not a requirement or the norm.

The official medium of instruction in these institutions is typically English. However, it's possible that, in some cases, professors may use regional languages as a teaching aid to help students understand complex technical concepts better.

How are the faculties of NIT Trichy in instrumentation and control engineering?

Vishal MehraB.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from NIT Trichy

I must tell you that the faculty of all NITs is quite similar.

You might be disappointed at the faculty of NIT Trichy or any other top engineering college. This is because the bar of your expectations will be high after clearing such a competitive exam. But don’t worry, you’ll really like some of the teachers from the Instrumentation and Control department. You’ll want to attend their lectures.

Make sure to have friendly relations with your seniors. They will tell you a lot about the different faculty members. Moreover, be consistent in your self study routine and take help from online resources. Don’t expect the faculty to spoon feed you.
