The course curriculum specifies that in the summer after completing your first year of M.Tech, you have to do an internship either in the industry or academia. You will have 3 options. Industry: Many companies that visit the Campus for placements of 2nd-year students also select interns for the same. Some of such companies are Samsung Research Labs, Google, General Electric, Reliance, Flipkart, De Shaw, JP Morgan Chase, etc. The average stipend offered last year was 65,000 rupees/month. Some companies offer more than 1 lakh/month. One of my friends interned at Samsung Research Labs. Academia: As per ISI guidelines, you need to pursue an internship at a different academic Institute or industry. A friend of mine went to NUS Singapore, while two others went to a university in Germany. You can also apply to other institutes in Japan, USA, and Europe. People also go to IITs, CMI, and other Tier-1 Institutes of India. Within ISI: If for some reason you could not get an internship in the above-mentioned ways, you can approach any of the 250+ faculty members across all 5 ISI‘s and can ask to work with them in their labs. You will have internships at the end of the first year. In the second year, you will have placements, dissertation, academics. So, the only time left to do an additional internship is the winter break after the first sem. Unless you are extremely enthusiastic, I will suggest that you take a break during this period. You will never be treated equally to your mechanical friends, however good your profile is. However, if you are planning for higher studies and research, then production is a very good choice. Being a production engineer opens up the manufacturing, industrial, and mechanical higher study options too. So, if placement after B.Tech. is your focus, please look elsewhere but if you are into higher studies then surely go for it. Choose wisely.

Tuition fees 64000 per semester and first they take 120000 and they take 57100 for hostel and mess and for ews they have fee remmision that is the 2/3 of the tution fee is deducted for open ews and after that tuition fees is 22000

My experience in nitt

My course B.Tech in Production Engineering is pretty expensive as it is a Engineering course and the labs and equipments are pretty expensive. My course costs around 12 lakh for 4 years including all expenses like tuition fee,library,lab fee, mess and hostel fees. Since the main feature of these Central government institutes are peer group most people here stay in hostel so you can't neglect that. Which also has provided a great forum to meet people and improve my social skills and make me a bettet person every day. It is a great opportunity to improve your lifestyle itself completely so do work hard.

NIT Trichy tuition fees is 62500 rupees per sem Institution fee 35000 per annum Hostel and mess charges 99000 per annum Note- for sc and st students get full tuition fee waiver / remission and also whose students family income less than 1 lac per annum get full tuition fee remission .There are various scholarships available NSP scholarship , ONGC and private scholarship , and get SAF ,students can take educational scholar loan etc .

NIT Trichy Experience thus far

For the first year. Annual Tuition fee is around 1,75,000Rs and hostel fee is close to 60,000Rs. Scholarships are available at economic basis as well as category basis. SC/ST categ. students have complete exemption from tuition fees along with people with annual income under 1 Lakh Rupees. Apart from people with under 5 Lakh ruppee annual income will have some percentage of annual tuition fees remission.
