No, you will not get CSE in NIT Trichy with a 10000 JEE main rank. But you will get to pursue CSE from NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, etc. Your rank is quite good but it will not be enough to get admitted to NIT Trichy. However, you might get admitted to other branches in NIT Trichy such as Production, ICE, MME, etc. You can also prepare for JEE Advanced and try your luck with the IITs. Do not lose hope because NIT Tricbhy is not the only best institute in the country to pursue CSE. Also, CSE is not the only course that will lead you to a successful path. No, with your percentile it will be difficult to get a seat at NIT Trichy. If you are a General or OBC category student then it will be very hard to get admitted at NIT Trichy. You will have a chance to get admitted at NIT Trichy only if you are an SC/ST student or you have a Tamil Nadu domicile certificate. But keep in mind that you may not get the seat of your preferred department. NIT Trichy is in high demand so only the top percentile students get the chance to get placed. But do not worry there are other NITs where you will be able to secure a seat. You can also prepare for JEE Advanced and get a seat at the IITs.

I think, bringing down the reputation of top institutes and falsely defaming them has become a trend just to get more comments and attention. It's the students who are unable to make it into IITs and NITs that can be seen calling them overrated, overhyped, etc.

NIT Trichy is a highly regarded institute and is considered better than most of the IITs. If anything it is underrated just because it lacks the so-called IIT tag. One of my friends is an alumnus of NIT Trichy and claims its research output to be way higher than those of IITs and in fact some IIMs.

Placements-wise too, NIT Trichy is doing excellent and NIT Trichy Placements 2022 recorded the highest package of INR 40 LPA. Its excellent rankings are also a testament to its worth and credibility. In the engineering category, NIT Trichy ranks 8th right below the top 7 IITs, and above IIT Hyderabad.

NIT Trichy is worth the hype it deserves in terms of all; placements, ranking, and research.

Life at NIT Trichy is really good. You will get to study at one of the best institutes while also get to enjoy the multiple facilities that the institute provides. The course is academics heavy with equal focus on practical learning/. You will have access to library facilities where you will get multiple books. There is a gym and swimming pool where you will able to exercise and stay fit. There is a salon and canteen facilities. You will also have access to unlimited wifi. There are multiple, sports facilities like badminton, tennis, basketball courts, etc. You will also have a TV room in your hostel. The hostel facilities are great and you will share your room with one other student. There is a diverse culture on the campus which will give you exposure.

A close friend of mine shared her experience at NIT Trichy and I have written the answer based on her experience. She called her life at NIT Trichy very meaningful and dynamic. Although she spent merely 2 years during her MTech, she had so much to learn and experience here.

Initially, she was a bit taken aback by the campus as it looked like she had come to a jungle. Soon she became familiar with the hostels and other places and adapted herself to life at NIT Trichy. Luckily she got the best roommates that accelerated her college life experience.

The peer groups comprise students from diverse backgrounds and you get to interact with people with versatile professional backgrounds. Usually, English is the medium of conversation here since South Indians cannot speak Hindi.

Powered vehicles are restricted so students can be found cycling across the huge campus. All basic commodities can be found inside the campus.

Boys aren’t allowed to enter the library and Computer center in capris or shorts. On weekdays, the deadline for girls is 9 pm whereas on weekends it is 9: 30. Those who don’t adhere to the rules are disciplined accordingly.

Additional amenities include a CCD inside the campus, along with many canteens and a mess on the campus.

Usually, the whether here is hot although a few hostels have AC in common halls.

Overall, life at NIT Trichy is full of ups and downs and varies from individual to individual.

What is the craziest story you have heard from NIT Trichy?

This story took place in the first year of my sister’s course. During the first semester exams, the area witnessed heavy rain for about 4 to 5 days. Due to the rains, the grounds of the campus and the area around the hostel were completely flooded. With cows on the campus, their primary source of nutrition had vanished.

One of my sister’s friends forgot to lock the room door on the day of the chemistry exam. When he returned, he looked around the room to check for his belongings. Bed, clothes, books, cow, cupboard. A cow!

Truth to be told, there really was a cow in a corner of his room eating away at his books. The first book to be nibbled page by page was PW Atkins Physical Chemistry, an essential chemistry textbook. It seemed like the cow knew how to eat a book as it was eating it page by page. It had started with the cover and was on page 176 by the time my sister’s friend reached. It was of course imperative to get the bovine out of the room.

Looking at the commotion, a small crowd had also gathered and the cow refused to leave despite multiple attempts. Poking with a broom didn’t help either. What was worse than it had switched over to eating Richard Feynman’s Lectures on Physics and these three books were collectively worth INR 2500. My friend clearly didn’t want to bear that sort of damage. Finally, someone grabbed the cow’s tail which somehow got it to leave and out of the hostel.

The cow definitely found these two subjects easier to digest than students. It was a wild day. They even found white cow dung a few days later.

Both NIT Trichy and NIT Warangal have good hostel facilities. Let me point out the facilities that you will get at NIT Trichy hostel.

The first thing that the students enjoy at NIT Trichy is the unlimited wifi during the 4 years of stay at the hostel.
We also have a hospital from where you can get medical facilities free of cost.
There are 22 boys hostels. On every floor, we have a TT room and an air-conditioned TV room.
You can complain about any electrical equipment which has been damaged or out of order and it will be taken care of within 2-3 days.
We also have Naturals Hair Salon and CCD. The canteen facilities are amazing and they are open till 2 AM.
The hostel rooms are spacious and you will share the room with another roommate.
You are allowed to buy your washing machine. However, there are laundry facilities as well.
