The annual fee for NIT Trichy in the first year is approximately:

Any branch at Jadavpur University (JU) will have solid placements due to its strong reputation. Food Technology and Biochemical Engineering is particularly noted for its research capabilities and ranks in the top 200 globally. Generally, students from this branch tend to pursue higher studies or work in R&D. The remaining students opt for placements.

Jadavpur has some great professors. But NIT Trichy offers more facilities, better placements, an amazing campus, and no political influence. Above all, it’s the top NIT in the country! NIT is run by the central government, which means more funding.

So, the decision is yours!

JU is genuinely a great choice. While I’m not a JU student, I can confidently say that JU CSE is an excellent option. You won’t regret it, trust me!

However, if you have the chance to get into NIT Trichy for CSE, which is the best NIT in the country, don’t pass it up. If fees aren’t an issue, definitely choose NIT Trichy CSE. It ranks just below the top 5 IITs CSE and IIIT Hyderabad. JU is close, but NIT Trichy has the edge. So, pick what feels right for you, but in my opinion, go for NIT Trichy!

NIT Trichy's B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers a solid ROI with a fee structure of around Rs.60,000 per semester, plus the potential for scholarships and fee waivers for economically weaker students, making it accessible for many. The campus is vibrant with numerous opportunities for internships and placements from top tech companies, which further enhances its value. Jadavpur University's BE in Chemical Engineering also has a competitive fee structure, but its placement rates are generally lower than those of NIT Trichy, especially for core engineering roles.

If you're looking for a course that not only has better placement opportunities but also offers more financial aid options, NIT Trichy is the smarter financial choice. However, if you have a passion for chemical engineering and prefer a city like Kolkata with a rich cultural backdrop, Jadavpur University could be a great fit for you.

Jadavpur University is undoubtedly a great choice for a BTech degree. However, I would recommend opting for NIT Trichy. Here are my reasons:

• NIT Trichy has a stronger brand value across India and even internationally. People in the western and southern parts of India may not view JU as being on the same level as NIT Trichy.
• Since your home state is West Bengal, studying away from home will provide you with numerous learning opportunities and experiences—not just academically, but also in terms of life skills, decision-making, and independence. If you’re not prone to homesickness, NIT Trichy is the way to go!
• NIT Trichy attracts students from all over India, which is not the case with JU. You’ll have the chance to interact with peers from Kashmir and pick up some South Indian languages. You’ll also get to understand quirky cultural references, like why Gujaratis call their snacks "atom bombs," and learn about the rich culture of Nagaland. This diversity isn’t something you’ll find at JU.

This comparison assumes you’re considering the same branch at both institutions. If that’s not the case, choose the institute that offers you the better branch.

NIT Trichy for B.Tech in Civil Engineering offers impressive placement stats with a 100% placement rate and an average package of around 27.27 LPA, plus numerous internship opportunities that can enhance your resume. In contrast, Jadavpur University's BE in Computer Science and Engineering has good placements too, with notable companies like BHEL and ADANI recruiting, but it doesn't match the placement percentages of NIT Trichy, which is especially critical in the competitive tech job market. If you're more inclined towards tech and computer science, Jadavpur might be a solid choice, but for better job prospects and higher packages, NIT Trichy is the way to go, especially if you're open to civil engineering.

I'll be completely honest about this. First off, I'm an alumnus of NITT from the EEE branch. BITS Pilani definitely has a better brand value compared to NIT Trichy.

So, making an informed decision will depend on answering several questions that you need to ask yourself:

• What branch do you prefer? EEE is a pretty vast branch in terms of subjects, papers, and workload compared to CS.
• Are you looking for high-paying jobs?
• If you choose EEE, are you willing to work in the core sector? Do all coding companies recruit EEE graduates from Pilani?
• Fees? (BITS costs almost twice as much these days, especially since the NIT fees have been hiked by the central government.)
• BITS has a very flexible academic structure and is known to have better faculty than NIT-T. However, there is no disparity in terms of placement.
• I've seen the placement records of recent batches at NITT, and looking at BITS Pilani's available recruiters' list, I can confidently say that we had a similar number of companies in the same batch, and maybe even more.

Another interesting fact is that the curriculum of EEE at NITT allows students to sit for all software companies without any issues (Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, etc.).

Absolutely! Pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from NIT Trichy is definitely worth it. The placement record for CSE has been 100% for the last 4 years! All the major companies in the CS field visit the campus.
