Teachers are very supportive for any kind of work either personal or study related
Different Festivals are there for campus and for MBA dept as well

Very Hectic schedule so students always busy in studying and improving their skills
Trimester system makes no relief for personal work
Language barrier with south people as if go outside hard to converse idea and thoughts with other as everyone don't know hindi and english

Location of the campus it is situated outside of city and there is no shopping complex near the campus
Hostel bed and chair are like worst it iron bed and chair

To be honest it's was not my 1st preference to get admission even though I am here . Reason for rejection is distance from my home town. For mba they take cat score only and I am not sure of cutoff but it might range between 75 to 80 for general 70 to 75 for ews and obc . Only cat score and pi are taken under consideration

The campus life is really virant with fests, clubs, sports and hostel culture.
Faculty are knowledgeable and supportive, most of them teach well and also guide us for projects and higher studies
Placements are quite strong, especially for CS, ECE, and even core branches

Dislikes

The boys to girls ratio is poor, hardly 1:8
some classrooms and hostels are old and need renovation, though labs are mosly updated
Cirriculum can be hectic at times and not always aligned with latest industry trends

Because of an NIRF ranking. Everyone create a hype of college. But the reel life is different and real life is different . Somthing are original but but somthing are false. The expansive green campus which seems to be never-ending, logos and orion lecture hall complexes are so fabulous, the placement cell building Capstone are some of the things i liked about my collegee
The faculty are very friendly and helpful and you can clear almost any of your doubt with them, the labs are well-equipped as well and lab incharge are very knowledgeable as well
The late night open shops like coke station, chaat khazana,sara food, etc are perfect for those late night cravings and that elaichi chai of coke station is something that has a special place in my heart.

Dislikes

The mess here are not that good, like you'd expect a good mess for a college with a title of No.1 NIT but the messes are just subpar at best, the food quality is okayish and cleanliness is at an acceptable leve;
the weather is almost sunny here so you can imagine how hard and frustrating it feels to cycle to lecture hall complexes and labs in afternoon when even going outside feels like you are being roasted alive.
The course often do not make sense and as a personal development course there's only an english course, lack of other language course in first year is something i disliked

Admission:

i was getting many other colleges and among them many were top nits such as suratkhal, rourkela, allahabad, warangal,jaipur, surat, calicut, nagpure and many others but i chose NIT Trichy over all of them because of better peer group,much better track record than others, possibilty of going for other job streams like manangment, consulting, finance, etc as well. The title of being a NIT Trichy graduate is one of the reasons i suppose that made me come here.

Excellent peer group with very good club and fest culture. Everything is student run, so students get several opportunities to work in event management, planning, logistics, tech, art, music, or anything that they are interested in.
Strong alumni network across the world that holds regular meetups.
Decent lab facility and 100% placement record across all departments.

Dislikes

Extremely sexist and rigid administration
Poor facilities in the hostel and departments
Hostel administration, especially for girls, is hostile and unapproachable. Sexist curfew rules only for girls.

Admission:

I got into IIIT Hyderabad ECE, VIT, NITK and this. I chose NITT as it is the top ranked NIT and i wanted to do a computer science degree, not ECE. I was not rejected from anywhere. JEE Main score is used for admission process.

The campus is huge we can really explore the campus it has been more than one year in the campus i still haven't seen my entire campus its good to have a big campus
The placements of this college is very nice for all the branches the average package of all the branches is very very good and far above than other colleges
The peer group of this college is very good since it is the top NIT of India there are a lot of smart people here which improves our own charachter and iq.

Dislikes

The hostel was not upto the mark in the first year but in the second year it became a habbit so it won't matter too much
There are a lot of home state people here on home state quota who decreases the quality of the batch and increases the intake
The weather of this city is hot or very hot so it was difficult to adjust for someone who is not use to hot weather

From my JEE MAINS result i could have got any college in the country except the IITs and BITS i didn't applied to any other college other than this because i was clear that i want to go to the best NIT of the country which is NIT Trichy. I would have got a seat in any NIT of the country but choose to go with this one because of the rank and placement staticstics of this college and the peer group is also very smart and innovative. I qualified JEE ADVANCED but could'nt secure a good rank to secure a seat in any of the IIT so i think that went wrong for me the admission process was through the JOSSA counselling and CSAB counselling , the exam which is needed to be qualified is the JEE MAINS exam for the B.TECH course. Your rank decided the course you will get in the college the cutoff for general male candidate of other state which i am is around 20-25k rank to get into this college you will get a branch like MME OR PRODUCITON at this rank

The required cutoff partially depends upon the difficulty level of the NIMCET paper since it varies from one year to another.

However, for the previous two years, NITK was the conductor of the NIMCET exam and was actually announcing the ranks based on the scores predetermined by the authorities. For further securing admission at NIT Trichy, you are required to score around 800 or above if only the paper is comparatively easy and you belong from the general category.

In case the paper is somewhat moderate in its difficulty level, then achieving 700 and above can help you secure admission to NIT Trichy. But, if it is undeniably difficult, then 500+ is supposed to be quite enough for securing a seat at NIT Trichy.

NIT Trichy is a really good college when it comes to most NITs. But, you will only get admission through JEE Main. You will definitely have to score well if you plan to secure admission here.

About 90% of the entire paper is quite easy to solve at home but you will have to develop skills to be able to solve the paper quickly and efficiently.
See how well you can do with MCQs along with your boards’ preparation.
Develop your accuracy, for example, if you solve 30 questions, ensure that 18 of them are correct at least even if you end up attempting only 22 of them.
As far as CSE or any good core branch is concerned, NITs are relatively easier to get into as compared to IITs.
