A brief overview of NITT

Fees and Financial Aid:

Since I am part of the DASA category, I was asked to pay an admission fees of 4000(USD) of which 25,000(INR) got refunded back to my bank account since I am part of DASA CIWG. Yearly Course Fees is 1,25,000(INR) Apart from the Course Fees, an additional set of other service fees which includes computer fee, internet fee, examination fee, library fee, registration and allotment fee, culturals fee, festivals fee etc which must be paid every odd semester and it amounts to 20,750(INR) however this amount changes with every odd semester. Total ammount for one year comes to 1,45,750(INR) Apart from this an additional one time fees must be payed before admission which amounts to 29,200(INR) for admission fee, campus development fee, alumini and convocation fee, medical fee, institute deposit and library deposit. In total for the 4 year course the final fees figure amounts to 6,25,700(INR) There is no news of it increasing or not

SC students are avail of free education without tuition fees. We also pay for college fests that happen every year.

Fees structure varies with the caste For general, ews, obc should have income certificate showing below 1 lakh (2/3 of the tution fees refunded) ,5 lakhs (1/3 of the tutio fees is refunded) For sc , st full tution fees is refunded. We can also apply for the bank loan which our college provides with less interest rate. Many scholarship are there like nsp, ffe, jspf etc

For General Category when you have no reservation or scholarship, the tuition fees for all years is around 125 Thousand/Year. As compared to other colleges at the same level as NIT Trichy, its fees are one of the lowest. You have some scholarships like JSPF exclusively for students of NIT Trichy. There are many other opportunities too. For students from low-income families or from reservation categories, there is reimbursement of fees to help them.

One of my friends studied in the PSG Mechanical branch. In his opinion, both the colleges are well known and quite famous for Mechanical Engineering. Let me state some facts about them which might help you decide.

NIT Trichy holds a certain advantage over PSG.
It is considered one of the top 5 NITs. It has earned recognition not only in India but also globally.
In NIT Trichy you will get much more opportunities and the proper exposure.
PSG is not bad but while comparing it with NIT Trichy, it gets more leverage.
In PSJ the faculty members are really good in their respective fields.
In PSG students mostly like to learn their subjects by themselves and are independent of the teachers.
NIT Trichy has all the things required for such a core branch, like Good faculty members, excellent academics, internships, connection with industries, placement statistics, etc.
All this makes NIT Trichy a better option for Mechanical Engineering.

Some of my friends studied at MNNIT, so I might be able to answer your question. It is suggested that you choose Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad rather than Civil at NIT Trichy.

Your branch of choice is more important than your college preference. In terms of opportunities, Mechanical Engineering has a slight advantage over Civil Engineering

Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad has a consistent placement record. Mechanical students receive more job offers than Civil Engineering graduates. PSUs often choose Mechanical Engineering graduates.
