What do you think of IIT Hyderabad launching India's first B Tech in artificial Intelligence?

We have witnessed a shift from the EE department to the CSE department due to advancements in computer science. Today, CS is indispensable in every field. AI field is similarly gaining momentum and is expected to reach heights in the future. To make the most out of AI, some universities have started including this course in their current curriculum while the more passionate ones have chosen to create a separate department dedicated to it. For instance, MIT and CMU have recognized the hidden potential of AI and are already establishing a separate department for it. Many are concerned if IIT Hyderabad will be able to tap the potential of AI rightly or not. However, the MTech in Machine Learning Program offered by IIT Hyderabad is a living example of how well they will be able to establish the AI branch as well. IIT Hyderabad has some great faculty both in the CSE and EE Department who have great experiences in the field of machine learning, computer vision, speech and image processing, NLP, text processing, statistics and probability, etc. However, it’s recommended that people go through the curriculum and talk to seniors before taking up this course. Genuine passion and interest in this field is required to take up this course else you will end up regretting your decision.

What 's your view on the AI course offered by IIT Hyderabad, its cutoff, future scope, and course pressure?

IIT Hyderabad is the first institute in India to launch a BTech program on AI engineering. I think the credibility of a certain field can be judged by its cutoff and the cutoff of AI has been seen as giving an edge to CSE of IIT Hyderabad and other old IITs. This course is a really good choice that has a genuine interest in AI and wants to pursue a career in the same.

How is the B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence course in IIT Hyderabad?

IIT Hyderabad is the first premier institute introducing Artificial Intelligence as an undergraduate course. The institute is ranked 8 for Engineering by NIRF 2020. Admission: The cut-off for AI in the first round is 434 and the second round is 623. Also, the cutoff rank for the program is Male: 478-657, Female: 1453-1601. Students need to qualify for the JEE mains exam and get a good score in the JEE Advanced exam. Eligibility criteria are 10+2 with 75% aggregate in the science stream. The course structure of IITs is quite expensive. It includes mess, hostel, basic amenities for the hostel stayers. A different structure is maintained for the day borders. The BTech course fee is INR 2.23 lakhs per year. Research: Some of the recent research work in the field of AI at the institute include a Multi-space approach to zero-shot object detection, A little fog for a large turn, Quality Aware Generative Adversarial Networks. Faculty: Around 30 faculties are present in the AI department. All of them are highly experienced and have research interests in areas like Data Analytics and Machine Learning. The faculties help students to apply the classroom concepts into the real world. Placements: The median salary received by the students is 12 LPA. Since it was introduced recently into the curriculum, it is predicted to be one of the fastest-growing technologies in the market. After some years AI professionals will outpace the software engineers. Seats are less in the IITs, students really need to work hard and secure their seat.

How much CGPA is needed for a branch change at IIT Hyderabad to CSE or artificial intelligence?

However, in accordance with the branch change policy, no department can take more than 10 % of its current number of students through the provision of Branch Change. It all depends on the competition between the students. However, based on one of my friends' experiences, the approximate CGPA required for branch change to AI or CS is around 9.6-9.8 in the first semester. They are also focused and research and have special courses for finance and entrepreneurship guidence.

The yearly fees is about 3 lakh rupees including the hostel and mess facilities. The infrastructure and the facilities in the college are top notch and has a great opportunity for a bright future. So the fees is quite affordable and I am really satisfied for the fee they are charging. ST people has a free hostel fee (which is around 60000 yearly). And the economically weaker class has a completely free education. All the below 500 ranks have a complete free education.

Life at IITH

Fee isn't much, but there will be fee. As far as reservation is considered, there's a lot of people who are not worthy but in here. There are almost no scholarships for general category students which is quite dissapointing.

Best future Choose AI

The hostel and the mess fees is included semester wise. The semester fee is around 1,47,000. Around 98k is the tution fee, rest covers the hostel and the mess expenses. The other charges include medical facilities etc. you'll get 80% discount in the pharmacy. For Girls there are many scholarships, and for ews class too.

Tution fee is 1lakh per semester and 15thousand for hostel per semester and 16500 for mess per semester.12thousand change for service charges.Many scholarships are available for students and college academic office will send mail regarding the scholarships available

The dream college(IITH) - A honest review

Student friendly faculty, high knowledge staff graduated from various iits, mit and other top universities. Practical knowledge and well structured courses with assignments.

Dislikes

Some courses need more credits. More time need to be spent on important topics such as DSA etc. Programming languages need to be taught.

The course fee is 1 lakh but there is a fee waiver for students having reservations based on IT returns. If total income is below 1 lakh is returned for ews and obc students. 1-5 lakhs 66.67% is returned. For minority students, there is no tuition fee. Some scholarships from buddy4study, other iits, etc. will be informed immediately to students. Some people get internships near lecturers as teaching assistants or projects. Provides placement drives by bringing various companies. Mess fees are reasonable as they provide various varieties. Other fees include hostel fees, transportation, medical fees, etc.

IITH the Innovation hub

There are many labs . But as I am student from artificial intelligence dept., we won't have any lab sessions in our curriculum.

At present the tuition fees is 2 lakhs per year. And if the annual income of a student is below 1 lakh , they no need to pay the tuition fees. If the annual income is between 1-5 lakhs , only 1/3 of tuition fees should be paid by the student. We can work under the professors and we will get the stipend from them.

My opinion on IIT Hyderabad

For every semester we have a tution fee of 1 lakh Indian rupees and hostel fees including mess are of sum fifty thousand Indian rupees. So I can assure you that each student should pay 3 lakhs per year.

My fee per sem is 144300. 100000 for the tuition fee 32000 for the hotel and the remaining for other things. The fee here is highest among the all IITs. Many companies come here for placement. The package here is very good.

Internship opportunities

The cost of the study is comparatively ok, but if your family income is less than 1 lakhs and both of your parents fill ITR then your tuition fees (around 1 lakh) from each semester get removed. For different categories, they have different schemes for the SC category they have the NSP scheme which you can read on their website. For a job & internship, you have to be very dedicated to your field and go through some tests or interviews.
