Rooms are really good. In 1st year we get double occupancy room but after completing 1st year we get single accommodation. Room have all the basic need to be fulfilled like ethernet and radiant cooling system. Hostel registration is done at the same time of the admission.

For 1st year undergrads we have double sharing rooms which are very spacious and includes one table. one chair and a almirah. The breakfast is good ,luch and dinner is not bad . The hostel and mess is compulsary. you cannot reside outside the campus .

I am staying in the hostel inside the collage. It is a bit costly but the facilities given are top notch. We have radiant cooling which is helpfull in summers. The hostel fees is around 30000 per semester.

each room has 2 people living. there are two beds, two wardrobes and two desks with chairs. it isn't the most spacious room. the hostels have radiant cooling technology in the walls which makes the summer bearable. after first year we get our own rooms.

The taste of the Mess food has degraded over time.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostels are newly constructed for the 2024-25 students and they are very good. Currently, the rooms are 2-sharing for the freshers and single from the next year(2nd year). The quality of the food was very good in the first but it has been gradually decreasing.

the hostels are maintained wery good with the scavenger cleaning the floors and washrooms every single day and has water purifiers and washing machines in each floor and the hostel room for freshers comes with double sharing and has a fan 2 tubelights and two study tables with chairs and two beds are also provided with good ventilation and good two big locker cupboards ate also provided

The Life and IIT Hyderabad

There are no disliked things, the hostels and classrooms are a too far but there are bus facilities though.
The mess food is a bit bad, which is adjustable though.

Hostel Facilities:

The students must stay in the hostels and there are 2 people per room in the first and and one person per room in the second year. There are washing machines and hot water available 24/7 but there is no AC facility. The mess food is quiet routine with not much variation but there are always some extras available which are good. I would say that the mess is a 2.5/5. But the responce team is quiet fast for any sort of issue which could be electircal or water problem and there are ambulances always available near the hostels for any kind of emergencies.

There are a lot of dogs. and there are dog poops everywhere. They even enter the hostels and make a lot of mess. We always mail the authorities but they lack to take action.
Water filters are available only on odd floors. And sometimes one of them wont work we ll have to go to fifth floor to get water. Alltogether there are 6 floors.

Hostel Facilities:

We have single rooms for all MSc and mtech students. For btech students 1 st year it is double sharing and later single rooms are given.Rooms have radiant cooling technology so it's very comfortable during summers.Water filters are available at odd floors. Old hostels have 6 floors each new hostels have more than that 10 or 12. Two Washing machines are available in each floor. 2 Sinks are also provided to wash plates if needed in each floor. Meals are good. Menu mostly has south indian and north indian dishes both.Special dinners are held every month.

Kandi campus of IIT Hyderabad has beautifully designed hostel buildings designed with unique infrastructure. IIT Hyderabad (new campus) provides single-seater rooms for all students. Girls are usually allocated to the new campus. Each hostel block has seven floors, with no rooms on the ground floor, and rooms on 6 floors only. Each floor has 32 rooms. So approximately, 192 students live in one block.

Some key highlights of the hostel are

Dwelling Design: IIT Hyderabad’s hostel architecture is designed by the Japanese who have used Dwelling Design. This helps the equal amount of breeze flow in all the rooms irrespective of the location of the room and direction of airflow.
Radiant Cooling: The walls and ceiling of the hostel rooms have hidden pipes that have cold water running through them. The temperature of this water is controlled depending on the season and outside temperature. This keeps the room warm in winter and cool in summer.
Washrooms: Each floor is divided into 4 comprising 8 rooms each. Every pod has two bathrooms, two urinal pots, and two toilets.
Toilets: Out of the 2 washrooms, one is Indian and one is Western. There are motion sensor lights in the hostel washrooms. There are both hot and cold water options available 24/7.
Rooms: Rooms are spacious enough for one person. A typical room has a single bed, a table, and a chair. There is also a built-in almirah.

Despite the mediocre hostel facilities, IITians always miss the incredible college life they lived. During weekends students look forward to many activities including interactions with their batchmates and seniors.
