IIT Hyderabad Scholarship 2024: List, Amount, Eligibility, Apply online
Students of IIT Hyderabad can avail the facility of scholarships among a variety of institutes, governmental or private scholarship schemes. But for every scholarship, a student is required to successfully match the basic requirements for the scholarships. Also, a student can receive only one scholarship under any of the schemes by institute/-Gov/ Private scholarships. Some of the popular scholarships of IIT Hyderabad are mentioned below along with their details.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship:
- The Merit Cum Means Scholarship is offered by the institute and is available for only 25% of the students admitted and belonging from the Gen/OBC-NCL/EWS categories.
- The Parental income for all students in any category should not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs.
- The student should secure a minimum CGPA of 7.0 or above with no active backlogs.
- Also, the selected students will be eligible for a Pocket allowance of INR 1000 per month.
SC/ST Scholarship:
- The SC/ST Scholarship is offered to the students of SC/ST categories enrolled in the UG Programs offered by IIT Hyderabad.
- The annual parental income of the students from all the sources should not exceed INR 4.5 lakhs.
- The student should secure a minimum CGPA of 7.0 or above with no active backlogs.
- The selected candidates will be eligible for the monthly pocket allowance of INR 250 and also the refund of License Fee and Dining Charges at actuals and as per the eligibility.
Other Scholarships:
Apart from the Scholarships offered by the Institute, IIT Hyderabad also gives several scholarship schemes offered by various States & Central Governments. These scholarships can be availed by visiting the National Scholarship Portal and also, the students can check the NSP for detailed information for each scholarship. - I like the club culture here in iith. We have top clubs like e-cell, TEDx, tinkerers lab, finance and consulting club, torque, rang de manch, shuffle etc
- I like the events that take place here like Milan( inter hostel competition), elan and nvisionand various other club events also
Dislikes
- The new hostel for freshers are not well built. They have many issues like lift issues and water issues
- Many classes have attendance criteria of 10% in grade which is bad

Likes
- Hostel rooms were the best in our campus. We got single rooms and large study table and chair. one cupboard enough to fit our clothes.
- Infrastructure was very modern and stylish. Roads neatly built and maintained. Co-Students were very friendly open including the seniors
Dislikes
- Campus was rather deserted due to it being an upcoming modern campus. Less buildings and for sports not much facility was there but its a lot better now
- Food and canteen options were limited compared to other IITs. No cycle on rent facility we have to buy on our own.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Semester fees including tuition fee, caution, registration, hostel fee was 74,500INR which makes it yearly is 1,50,000INR. There were no compulsory charges during or after the completeion of the couse. SC,ST fees including all the fees were around 30,000 per semester which makes it 60,000 per year.
Likes
- Hostel facilities are top notch. The hostels are new and well equipped with radiant cooling, washing machine and other basic amenities.
- The profs are younger compared to other IITs and hence a more modern way of teaching is followed.
Dislikes
- Not a very large alumni network if you compare it to other IITs.
- A lot of regional influence with majority of student population from South India.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The fees mentioned are per semester (BTech comprises 8 semesters) Tuition Fee : 1 Lakh per sem Hostel Expenses : 15k per sem Mess Expenses : 17k per sem Other Expenses : 12k per sem Total : 1,44,000 per sem

- The campus life is very good here. Infrastructure is modern.
- Acads are fun . all the clubs are so myuch active
Dislikes
- I'll say there is nothing I dislike about here. Just the ratio of girl to boy lol.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The hostel and the mess fees is included semester wise. The semester fee is around 1,47,000. Around 98k is the tution fee, rest covers the hostel and the mess expenses. The other charges include medical facilities etc. you'll get 80% discount in the pharmacy. For Girls there are many scholarships, and for ews class too.

I will be paying approximately 3 lakhs 20 thousands this year however st sc and those having gross annual income less than a lakh don't pay tution fee. This fees include every other facilities such as mess

- Seniors are very cooperative for every academic and non academic issue.

- Mess food is not as good as u will like especially if u r north indian

I paid 160000 for one semester. This includes everything. 1 lakh for tution fees and other for hostel mess bus medical and other facilities. However there is no tution fees for st sc and if u have annual income less than 1 lakh.

- The campus environment is very vibrant and you will see a lot of intellectual people around you.
- Their are a lot a clubs and activities going around in the campus , so you can join any club according to your interest
Dislikes
- The greenery in the campus is little less compared to other IITs.
- The courses are a bit hectic you may feel.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The fees of IIT Hyderabad increases on a ragular basis , like it increases every year by some amount. So , my tuition fee is 1,00,000 per semester and total fees per semester is 1,61,964 for Gen/OBC/EWS and 61,964 for SC/ST . Hostel fees per semester is 15,000. For B.Design fees per semester is 1,01,964. The SC/ST/PH students get full remission on tuition fees. Also students with annual family income < 1 Lakhs get full fee remission and students with family income less than 5 Lakhs get 2/3rd of fee remission. Any student can opt for Vidyalaxmi Scheme, by which they can get loans to pay fees with zero interest for 4 years. I have applied for sub-ordinator position in TEDx Hyderabad, also i am associated with Tinkerers lab although they are non-profit organisation.
Likes
- The studies at IITH are really good when compared to many colleges outside in the country. And the curriculum is flexible for students of there won interest to learn other courses than of their particular branch.
- The Hostels are really good especially the single rooms which are given form the second year are really super. And the wash rooms are also good.
Dislikes
- Almost 80 to 90 % of the construction is completed, in the remaining 10 to 20% is left.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
Tuition fee is set by the central government and it is same for all the IIT's and it will be constant in the coming years too. The complete cost of the education for an year will be around 3,04,119.50 /- there will many scholarships available to the eligible students.

- Firstly coming to infrastructure advanced Japan technology is inbuilt in every building, Radiant cooling facilities, modern architecture, especially library was simply superb,
- Healthy campus environment. 24×7 security services throughout the campus and medical services. Medicines and doctor consultation are budget friendly
Dislikes
- Some courses need more credits. More time need to be spent on important topics such as DSA etc. Programming languages need to be taught.
- Fests are not upto mark as it is one of high rated campus fest should also be in that range but it was not as expected.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
The course fee is 1 lakh but there is a fee waiver for students having reservations based on IT returns. If total income is below 1 lakh is returned for ews and obc students. 1-5 lakhs 66.67% is returned. For minority students, there is no tuition fee. Some scholarships from buddy4study, other iits, etc. will be informed immediately to students. Some people get internships near lecturers as teaching assistants or projects. Provides placement drives by bringing various companies. Mess fees are reasonable as they provide various varieties. Other fees include hostel fees, transportation, medical fees, etc.

- Thirdly, most of the professors are quite friendly and approachable. The club culture is good in the campus especially the cultural clubs are very active. And the most beautiful thing I found was that our seniors were friendly including the Mtechs.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:
As per my knowledge the fees has been same since the last 3-4 years. The complete cost of education for the 4 years will be around 120k INR. Scholarships are usually for the reserved students and females , not for the general boys. So for reserved candidates there are lot of opportunities for scholarships.
