The dream college(IITH) - A honest review

First year courses are same for all branches which involves having basic knowledge all should have on chemistry and physics. Our first semester also gives intro to programming by introducing C language. Due to same courses we interacted with fellow branch students Then our core courses starts from next semester. Second sem involves core courses and pre requisite courses such as probability etc. Next one of the main course DSA , computer architecture etc are in the third sem. As a student from AI departments 4th sem onwards machine learning took an important role of almost 10 credits. Then there are some free eletives in AI department. There are LA courses which enhances cultural, social,ethical,technological,moral based knowledge. This part also has learning other languages such as Japanese etc. There CA courses which involves singing,dancing, drawing, etc. Overall curriculam involves all kinds of subjects with small diversion from core subjects.

Students from 4th year btech are mostly preferred for placements and mtech, phD students are also given importance. Many companies visit campus during placement drive , keep some exams and take interviews. At an average nearly all students get in the range 20-50 lakhs. Few get above 50 lakhs. Companies from Japan, Microsoft, Nvidia, Infosys etc visit. Nearly 350+ students got placements in 2023. After getting my degree I need to get in placements due to some financial problems later on I want to do something better.

The course fee is 1 lakh but there is a fee waiver for students having reservations based on IT returns. If total income is below 1 lakh is returned for ews and obc students. 1-5 lakhs 66.67% is returned. For minority students, there is no tuition fee. Some scholarships from buddy4study, other iits, etc. will be informed immediately to students. Some people get internships near lecturers as teaching assistants or projects. Provides placement drives by bringing various companies. Mess fees are reasonable as they provide various varieties. Other fees include hostel fees, transportation, medical fees, etc.

One of the biggest first of South India Elan and Envision which is cultural and technical fest held every year in February or March. Others sports competitions such as Diesta which is inter departmental completions and Milan which is inter hostel completions are held every year. Online games and indoor games competitions are held as part of Revive. Infracture of the Campus is out of blue moon. That is purely advanced Japanese technolgy. There is unique architecture for every academic block based on branch. Recently new library was opened which has wide range of collection of books and journals simply osm.there are discussion rooms also. Inside every classroom we have a projection ,white board, tv, green board used for different modes of teaching. There is central AC in each block. There will be events held atleast every week by various clubs, competitions and tutorial sections by sci-tech clubs. Some of the main clubs are EBSB, shuffle crew(dance club), vibes(singing club)etc

Hostels have a unique radiant cooling facility which is very useful during summer. For every floor, there will be 4 pods and 8 rooms per pod. For every pod seperate washrooms. For every floor, there will be a washing machine and water dispenser. Every day there will be cleaning services and for every hostel there will be security. There is no intime for a hostel. Only one student per room. One hostel has 2 per room. Each room has a table,bed,fan,lights,cup board etc. There are 2 mess for whole campus we have to register at the end of the month for any one mess. The meal quality is very good especially morning there will variety kinds and healthy meals these include eggs,sprouts, bananas, bread,etc Registration is done only in the first year later if we want to change room we can ask in the hostel office. If we are sick food is supplied by security to our room of we inform them. There will be ambulance, bus service in campus

Admission process is through one of the hardest exams of India JEE Advanced entrance test. The cutoff is based on the college, branch, gender, caste etc. Proir to admission college is selected through Josaa website based on the rank. They held 6 rounds and it is the frst option that got selected and all other below will vanish as rounds move on. Later after college decision we have to take josaa allocation letter and some other documents like medical , caste, income etc Reservation takes a major part in this process

Faculty are student-friendly They are always available via mail, in person, they are available soon after the class or we can visit the office during mentioned office hours There are experienced faculty who did graduation, research from top universities such as IIT's, MIT, STANDFORD, etc. They use all modes of teaching at their level best. Strict in plagarism which is very useful for getting experience in programming and projects. Faculty encourage a great interaction in class to discuss our ideas. Presentations will be taken often as a result it improves our skills and we present fearlessly in our future.
