NIT Colleges in India: Admission Process
Admission into the top NIT Colleges in India is solely based on the scores of the entrance exams. The admission criteria differ based on the courses offered by the NIT colleges in India. For BTech admissions, one needs to qualify for the JEE Mains entrance exam and participate in the National level counseling Process called JoSAA Counselling. Candidates are shortlisted based on ranks obtained in the JoSAA Counselling and called for GD/ PI. Selected students are then called for Document verification to finalize their admission.
In NITs, the seats are also reserved based on the State of Eligibility i.e., benefits based on the state from where the candidate has appeared for the qualifying exam. 50% of seats are reserved for Home State candidates and another 50% for Other State candidates.
