Here, internship is 100% in every branch,(literally) Students used to start their intership from first year. Companies like vedanta, reliance, government psus and government projects . This year’s internship drive was highly successful, with 100% internships secured in CE, CSE, ECE, EEE and ME. A majority of CSE students interned in reputed IT firms, while students from Mechanical and Electrical branches explored diverse opportunities across manufacturing, energy, and consulting sectors.

Internship oppurtunities are provided every year at NIT Sikkim in top notch companies like Infinion, Cummins, Vedanta, NHPC, ONGC, IOCL, SLB, Neenopal, Dharaksha Ecosolutions and many others having an average stipend of 15k-10k per month

There are various internships available through training and placement cell in web development and embedded systems. Based on connections of professors one cm also get internship in power grid also. Also if anyone is interested in research they can get internship in various colleges like IITs also.

For internships usually, companies come for web development roles with minimum stipend of 10000 and many students also get a chance to go to ISRO, although it is an unpaid internship it gives you great exposure. Mechanical Engineering companies like Maruti Suzuki come for internship where most of the students get PPO.

Internships were plentiful in our campus, with over 95% of students receiving an internship. Our internship cell, particularly Ruchi mam, is dedicated to student internships. Some students can intern at a decent university such as IISc or IIT, while others can go overseas for an internship, such as in Canada. Our university's internship programme is generally positive.

The chances of a good placement are higher after doing masters, and that’s the reason why each year nearly 60% of the students go for a master’s course and rest 40% are placed from the mechanical branch placement cell. During my time the highest offered package was of 10LPA while the lowest was 6LPA. I am currently pursuing M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

The placement quality of the college is good. The placement committee members are professional and have good industrial experiences so they were able to invite more than 75+ companies for the placement drive of the college. The college was able to maintain a record of 100% placement. The college's highest placement offers goes up to 18 LPA and the average salary offers range around 10 LPA.
