A very honest review of NIT SIKKIM

Faculty:

As everywhere, some professors are really soo good, very well qualified, has a good teaching skills , friendly in behaviour, but there is also some professors, who do not fits in above qualities. Just read ppt in class, sets irrelevant questions in exams , gives soo much irrelevant assignments regularly and also some are really irritating in nature. I can't reveal anybody's name ,(sorry)

Faculty members are like if you respect them then its fine otherwise what ever you write in your paper if they all are correct then you will get pass marks otherwise be ready for the backlog and course structure like cse ece eee me civil these are the branch only

Familiar behavior and nature of professors around you will treat you as their students and the professors are very much supportive in nature

Faculty to student ratio is almost 1:10 that means on every 10 students there is 1 faculty and in terms of the approachibilty of the professors they are easily available around the campus and very supportive in nature for your academic and Non academic doubts as well. Some of the famous faculties are Dr Dhananjay Tripathi Sir, Dr. Anil Lal S, Dr. Debajit Saha, Dr, Biswajit Roy, Dr. Aurobinda Panda, Dr. Joy Pal, Dr. Ranjan Basak, these all professors are very helpful and friendly in behavior with the students and very much approachable to students as well. For every subject in a semester there will be two mid term exams will be there of 15 marks each and major end term exam will be there of 50 marks which comprises to 80 marks and rest of the 20 marks are decided by respective faculty handling the course like 20 marks comprises of assignment, viva, attendence etc. This is same for every subject across all the semesters.

The faculty are good overall even Students are less here so faculty pay attention for every student and they teachs good knowledge about real life technology but every year there are some students who get year back like 5 to 10 in the strength of 140

The quality of education and the professors.

The faculties are fine with good knowledge. The ratio of students to teachers is also average. Some faculties are also strict in attendance and marking criteria which I don't like. There will be 3 exams in each semesters : Mid term 1 Mid term 2 End term

The NIT Sikkim faculty is very experience and most of the faculty of the college are of PhD level. The faculty even publish their work with the help of NIT Sikkim management. Some of the college faculty has industrial exp[osure which is very helpful for the students.

NIT Sikkim is a good college.

All the faculties are atleast PhD holders with a background in some reputed institute. They have good academic background and posses better ways to instill knowledge in students' minds. They are very supportive and giving. They are flexible to students for assignments etc.

NIT SIKKIM - An Institute of National Importance

The faculty in our college is highly well qualified and well educated upto PhD as well some are also JRF. These teachers are highly knowledgeable in their respective department. The average age is 42 to 47 year. The lectures are especially for 1hr in each respective classes. Students ask doubts too which are easily solved by them.

Needs infrastructure

There are quite a lot of faculty members in each department. And to be honest everyone is really qualified in his/her own field. I see many professors holding Dr. Tag in their name so they must have qualified the requirements of the qualification. But see expertise in own field is one thing but conveying it and explaining others about it is whole different story. Problem is professors have good expertise in their knowledge, right from concepts to the further beyond but they somehow fail to explain it to students.
