- professors are good and kind hearted and also there are a lot of places to explore

- girls and boys ratio is less like out of 117 only 28 are girls
- some proffessors are not good and give less marks
- u can get less marks after working hard because proffessors dont give easy marks

there are lot of companies who used to visit our campus like microsoft gives 15 to 20 offer, amazon guves 13 to 15 offer , accenture gives a lot of offer like 30 offer and many more
in recent year placement 64 lpa is highest and average of 12.5 lpa they use to offer forSDE role
in last year 93.14percentage of total student get placed
my plan is to get a full time job as software developer

- Social interaction is good, seniors are supportive and chill. But there is a culture of calling seniors as Sir and Mam.
- It's a beautiful, green campus and It has all basic facilities that you need.
Dislikes
- The food at mess here is very bad. Like real bad.
- Some faculties are very rude and not that great at teaching , they might be better very knowledgeable but not a great teacher perhaps.
- The girls to boys ratio is bad, it's like 1:4.5 girls to boys ratio.
Placement Experience:
One of the major advantage of my college is it's placement percentage and average package.
For my branch placement percentage is our 80% and average package of my branch is 16.5 lpa this year.
Highest package last year was of 1.44 crore from a company rubirik.
I plan to work in a semiconductor manufacturing company like Texas instruments and qualcomm.

- As college is made in 1960 infrastructure are little old
- The infrastructure of labs are old but new equipments are there
- It has vast campus area but most of land is covered with forest

Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of
industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students.
Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

- The academic block of college was newly build with centralized ac in every classroom. Class rooms are neat and able to accommodate up to 120 members in the class room.
- New hostel rooms will be provided for first years with single room for each.
- Clubs for popular sports available in the campus.
Dislikes
- Poor food quality , mostly the foods available are in north style.
- South style food was very rare here. But good food for North Indians would be available.
- Wi-fi problem was severe in the campus. Many complaints raised about it.
Placement Experience:
1.The main thing about our campus, campus placements are so good. Branches like CSE & ECE have high placement percentage about 90.
2.From 3rd year students got involved college internships and programmes that allow them to better placements.
3.Top companies like Google,Microsoft,Amazon,Intel,Samsung etc visited our campus. And the highest package of our campus is about 60LPA offered by Amazon.
4.I planned to work after completing my B.Tech.

- Placements of core branches are also very good as compared to other NITs/some IITs.
- Lush green campus, trees are planted very much.
- Some professors are really very very good. They are of high calibre.
Dislikes
- Some professors are very bad in character too.
- Corruption is all when I see the poor development of infrastructure.
- Inequality in branches can be seen often.
Placement Experience:
The students usually get offers more than 15 lpa and highest this year one guy from ECE got into rubrics of 1.23 crores and many of the students from electronics branch and computer science and branch got package of 30 Lpa 48 lpa 60 lpa too,
and coming to the core branches, scenarios are very much good in core branch, I think many people almost everybody get placed here and average package of core branches 10 lpa and of non core it must be 15 to 20 lpa so over all average package of college must be approx 15 lpa.
In my branch metallurgy and material science engineering, every student got placed.
Internships are given generally from 3rd year itself but many of my friends got internship in 2nd year itself.

- The placements are not in par with other NITs//IITS
Placement Experience:
Students get PPO ( pre placement opportunity) from 5th semester itself. However the actual placment process starts from 7th semester. A mix of tech and non-tech companies visit the college and offer job to the students.

- The college has quite a good academic building but the hostels are old and not very well maintained
- The crowd is nice and quite competitive, people are smart and quite sharp
- The professors are a bit on a stricter side however some are quite chill, they might make you work hard in order to score good
Dislikes
- Hostel and mess food is not up to date, often we face issues like insects in mess food or stale vegetables being served.
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for internship after 4th semester , after 6th semester the companies start coming for regular placement
For cse the average was around 20 lpa with median being 16-17 lpa
Companies that generally visit are - atlassian, Amazon, flipkart , BNY Mellon, cisco, Texas Instruments etc
Around 140 offers were made and in a batch of 120, 100 have secured placement
Placement percentage is around 92%
Highest package - 65 lpa atlassian (on campus)
1.23 cr rubrik (off campus)
Lowest package - 7 lpa
Average - 18 - 20 lpa

- Best infrastructures and supportive seniors
- Placement of the college is excellent and average package is getting increased day to day.
Dislikes
- Classes scheduled are tough and it is difficult to manage.
- Distance of the Hostels and classroom are slightly far.
- Mess food quality are not too good and I should be improved
Placement Experience:
Placement of the college is very impressive almost 98% students were placed last year with the highest packege of 86 lakh and average of 14 lakh per annum.The placement percentage of my branch was 100% last year. Few of the World famous companies like Cisco, Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian etc come for the placement

- The College needs to develop its infrastructure , also there should be garden type area for chill out after the tight schedule.
- Frequent Fests and Events makes the student very energetic and make them to have a stress free mind due to tight study .
Dislikes
- The Hostels were too much conjusted and the building were too old and there is very less maintainence by the administration .
- There is very restricted participation in various events makes the first year student very disappointment.
- The Labs were too old and machines used were also too old , during the time of RIT JSR.

Course Curriculum Overview:
The Course Provided by the Administration is sufficient and very relevent , but actually the Timings of the Classes and Labs might trouble you .
The Faculties were highly qualified and the way of their teaching is very effective (you might face issue in starting of the course but you become familiar with it soon)
The Special Cause for taking Mechanical Engineering is due to the high Placement percentage and its average ctc package . It also provides a huge scope into the Government Jobs as well as private sector .

The placements are very good here . The average package of electrical department is 17LPA . The highest package of our college is 80LPA . IT companies also allows electrical to sit in the placements .

My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review.
Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33.
Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus.
Academics
- The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students.
- Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well.
- The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained.

Extracurricular Activities:
The TechnoManagement fest, Ojass, and Cultural fest, Culfest are the major events of the institute. There are several automobile teams as well, like Team Phoenix, the aircraft team; Team Rays, the hybrid car team and Team Daksh, Off road car team.
