Which/why is best for CSE: IIIT Una or NIT Uttarakhand?

One of my friends is currently enrolled for the 2022 batch at IIIT UNA. He has completed two years already with a rank below 30,000 and he got into CSE, if you have a rank between 30-36k then you won't have many other options available. He had the option to choose between Thapar Institute of Technology, IIIT UNA, and UIET Chandigarh, and unfortunately, the choice of IIIT UNA was a regrettable decision. Firstly it does not have a good rank; secondly, you may see why as follows- NIT Hamirpur is the mentor institute at which my friend’s batch studies as part of the 2022 batch which is the only batch there without any seniors, labs, or societies. Administration-The institute lacks efficient management, it is headed by a dictatorial administrator who likes to make changes without prior announcement. Recently, a fine of INR 5000/subject was imposed on students for a shortage of attendance. Tuition Fees- For each year of the academic program, you'd have to deposit a high Tuition Fee of INR 2.05 LPA, which is steep because of the lack of facilities. College Environment- If you're seeking a happening campus life at IIIT UNA, then you'd be disappointed. There are hardly 2 or 3 clubs like Aavesh and Force, but joining them will be difficult owing to their eligibility criteria. Lastly, I'd like to highlight the placement scenario as the placement cell clearly states that they are not responsible for the placement provision. Only CSE and IT departments receive some companies, for ECE there are only coding jobs available. So, Thapar Institute of Technology and UIET Chandigarh are much better in terms of opportunities provided, college life, and alumni support.

NIT Uttarakhand B.Tech CSE Fees

The B.Tech fee structure at NIT Uttarakhand for 2026-27 is category-based and identical across all branches including CSE. For General/OBC students with family income above Rs. 5 Lakhs, the tuition fee is Rs. 62,500 per semester. Students with family income between Rs. 1 Lakh and Rs. 5 Lakhs pay a reduced tuition fee of Rs. 20,834 per semester. SC/ST/PwD students and General/OBC students with family income below Rs. 1 Lakh pay zero tuition fee. In addition to tuition, all students pay semester-wise charges for student activities, development, computer/internet, examination, and medical insurance. Hostel fees are charged separately.

Hostel fees include Seat Rent, Electricity and Water Charges, Hostel Maintenance Fee, and Mess Fees Advance (Rs. 23,100 per semester).
Mess advance is refundable after actual consumption adjustment.
Security Services and Hostel charges have an annual increase of 10%; Mess fees have an annual increase of 5%.
Library Book Bank Fee: Rs. 500 per semester (additional).
Students with family income below Rs. 5 Lakhs must submit income certificate from Competent Authority at the time of admission.

1,18,498 per year 20833 is tution fees, 2000 development fees, 4685 seat rent, 2500 students active fees, 22000 message advance, 2928 water charges, 500 book bank fees, 2000 computer and internet fees.(These are per semester fees) For general and OBC under 1 lack year income are charged 45000 approx per semester And between 1-5 lack the fees is 60000 approx And above 5 lack normal fees structure is applied And for SC and St fees is 45000 approx NSP is available for students

For B.Tech students, the approximate fee structure per semester is as follows: Tuition Fee: Around INR 62,500 per semester. Hostel and Mess Charges: Around INR 15,000 - 20,000 per semester. Other Fees: Around INR 10,000 per semester. Scholarship is on the basis of your annual income

Nit uttarakhand is good if you can compromise on campus.

Fee is not that much as it is nit you can check fee details on nituk official site also it will be around 8 lakh including everything for 4 years. Other that it also have good scholarship. Your tution fee is relaxed according to your parents income other than that u can also apple for different scholarships. If you are phd student you also get stipends for teaching first year students.

# here tution fee is nominal which everyone can afford and there is not seen as such incriment in the price so in aspect of fee it is good. #8.3lakh is the total cost of my btech education includes all the neccesory things hostel mess library and tution fee but excludes any other fine like damage and include health insurence. #there are no such scholarship availaible to the student by the collage but collage give us information about the available scholarship for the repectative students. # as i am in my first year i have not taken any part in placement procedure but as told by my seniure placement status is good good for computer department and good for electronics department.

About our college

Fees structure of this college lies in the mid as compare to other NITs and government funded colleges. If your family income is less than a lakh then you can easily get 100% scholarship here whereas in under 5 lakh you can have 50-60% or more it depends.

Insight of nit uttrakhand

Very much strict about course curriculum and also if a person have 74.8999 percentage attendance the person will be repeating the course if not uses power which I feel is bad

The tution fee according to other collage is good and the increment in the fee is not much it is about 8lakh for .4year which is normal for btech education so it's ok The complete fee for my b tech four years is 8.3 lakh including tution fee message fee library fee hostel and electricity water bills and excludes any property damage. There I didn't see any college scholarships but I found there are so many scholarships available for reserved Students which Is very good and this information is provided by the institution only and some other sources. I am in my first year but by talking to the senior I got to know that the placement was not that good but okay for computer science students.

Read this before you take admission in NIT Uttarakhand.

Fees is not that high. You can easily see the fee details on nituk website. It is around 90k for tution fee and 30k hostel and mess combined fee. You get 2/3rd relaxation in tution fee if you income is less than 5lakh per annum and if you income is below 1 lakh per annum you only have to pay for hostel fee. Other than this you can apply for different scholarships (govt or private) which can easily cover your hostel fee also.Phd and some mtech students also get monthly stipend for teaching or assisting teachers in labs. I heard the get around 30-40k per month not sure .
