First thing i like about this campuse is its beautiful like really beautiful.
Here some teachers are really good and helpful which encourages for better performance in every field
Students can get so many scholarship opportunities once they join this institute like for students living in jk or students with good cgpa.

Dislikes

Professors are not that good as expected,need to understand concepts from youtube
This is quite difficult to afford for a middle class family but there are fee waiver also
Hostels are not that good and have only fans not even cooler so it is difficult in summers washrooms are also not well mantained food is also not that good overall hostels are very unhygienic and are not well mantained

The way of teaching, the quality of mentors to deliver their knowledge to students.
The infrastructure of the college, lush green campus gives the home vibes which helps students to spend their quality time in the campus.
Cleanliness of the campus,well sanitized and full of oxygen.

Dislikes

Practical knowledge, lab lectures are very less due to which we can't understand the practical use.
The mentality of few teachers to discriminate, some students are close to the teachers but it doesn't mean that other doesn't exist.
boy : girl ratio = 24:76 , which lags in relationship building.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course curriculum is very nice and made by the best teachers of our country but the only issue i have found is some subjects have tutorial classes even if not required but if they require lab, but lab for that particular subject is not available. Like one of our subjects is Theory Of Machines which doesn't have lab but tutorial. But here we do require lab for easy understanding of the concepts.

Life at NIT Jalandhar : A comprehensive student perspective

Strong placement spot and career guidance
Modern infrastructure and diverse competent community

Dislikes

Boyz two girl ratio is affecting the diversity about 76 ratio 24
Mess food quality and limited recreational facilities
Inconsistent maintenance in older hostels and buildings some buildings also has problems like water leakage

Placement Experience:

Placements at Niteland are excellent with students becoming eligible in the 7th semester in 2025 the placement rate reached about 92% with over 1000 job offers made top recruiters included Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Bpcl, Adani ,Infosys ,Deloitte and Tata Power. The highest btech package touched 52 LPA while the average to around 8.10 lakh per annum core branches averaged 7 to 8 lpa and cs it averaged 13 to 14 lpa. About 86 to 92% of eligible Btech students were placed across all branches. My post degree plan is to pursue a tech role at a reputed firm leveraging campus placement but many also opt for higher studies or startups thanks to the campus strong industry connexions and preparation for competitive roles.

Likes

I liked how the faculty focus on each and every student for their growth.
Greenery in the campus is a plus point for me.
I liked the annual fest UTKANSH of the college which is in APRIL of each year.

Dislikes

Faculties could be more experienced I feel.
Campus is small if compared to other National institutes of India
College is far away from the main city which makes it very isolated.

Placement Experience:

Teh campus placements are not that good for this course. It's good for BTECH students but for Mtech it is not at par. Till now for my batch hardly 5-6 companies came for internship out of which hardly 4 took the candidates.

vibrant atmosphere with competitive spirit

no proper shopping complex for daily use
placemement this season is little down maybe due to recession or ai bubble
ground should be maintained properly and made available

Placement Experience:

after 6th semester people become elgible for placements numerous mncs visited the campus such as microsoft(intern + placement ) 52lpa , uber 65lpa , google 52lpa and several others a guy from chemical bagged 1.2Cr HOng Kong package form chemical branch.

The college infrastructure like buildings labs etc are modern and well equiped
The college also has good lush green campus and very attractive to eyes
The thing I liked the most about college is nice placement stats for my branch in past few years

Dislikes

The college has so so or can be called poor sports facilities and infrastructure very less grounds.
College has only one big cafe canteen and its food is also not so great.
The gender ratio of college is fucked up in my department between 90 boys there are around only 17 girls which is quite poor

Placement Experience:

As my college is an nit it's a premiere instrtite of india . It provides good placement and internship opportunities. Placement of nit j in ice branch is very good for past few years .. my branch has an avg pakage of about 11-12 lpa in 2024 and 9.5 lpa median pakage. It has placement in both core and it field around 70% tech companies allow ice to sit for placement with computer domain students. The students are eligible for placement from 5th or 6th sem onwards .. and the placement percentage of nit j is about 90-95%. In ice branch .... Highest recorded was about 52 lpa . I myself believe that I would get some placement but if I couldn't get by college I must have developed some skills that will help me for off campus placements and if I won't get I would prefer higher studeis. And I aspire to see my parents happy after placement

the general environment is good there are many clubs run by students .and i personally joined bhangra club and my confidence has definitely increased since then.
facilities are available if you want to do something. many good teachers are there for guidance who have very good experience in their respective fields.so guidance is available.
Sports facilities are there .and many inter college competitions re happening all year round .so if you have interes in sports .definitely u will have an env . im ot saying they are very goo but they are there.

Dislikes

many teachers and below average.they know too less also teaching capability is very low. so u cannot depend on professors in most subjects.
mess food is a big problem for me.its mostly not good.they do not make vegetables i do not know why.just keep on repeating pulses.the food is nutrionless.

Placement Experience:

the placements are decent, not bad. A cse graduate with a good knowledge of dsa can earn 12-15 lpa .with more hardwork u can earn even more.this year the max placement was around 41 lpa. but for core branches it is much less. if u are very good in your core then maybe u can get a good placement.

NIT Jalandhar overall experience, campus placement opportunities, fees structure and hostel reviews

Likes

Infrastructure: all the classrooms have we equipped AC, modern study tables , projectors and smart boards.
Campus: clean and not too much big, students can go from hostel to their classrooms in minimal time.

Dislikes

Small campus: roads a bit crowded because of less area to gather with friends.

Placement Experience:

Placement is overall good, the companies gives heavy package to CSE and IT Fields, the avg package is around 13.35LPA and for our department is around 11LPA with 100% placement ratio in 2025.. And the most unexpected thing that happened in our college is that a student from instrudrial and production engineering got a package of 4.07 CR from off-campus..

The supportive environment : The professors here are very cooperative, and do not hesitate to give their time for students.This makes the college life a lot easier than it seems,well at least for me.
There is lot of support for innovation,and start ups.There are clubs like daksh, robotics clubs etc..which actually makes ekart cars every year.
There is a continuous improvement in both infrastructure and academics.There is a change in curriculum almost every year ,based on the industry dynamics.And there is a good support system for placements and internships.

Dislikes

The location of the college.The college is located far away from the city that we have to travel for at least 30 min to travel to city.

Placement Experience:

There are many placements,as well as internship opportunities offered. The placement percentage of the college is 92%.Companies like google, amazon, nvidia, hpcl, bajaj, mahindra and many more visit this college.

When I'm in NITJ see what I got.

Likes

I like infrastructure and cleanness of college also ground is big, and there lots of club to join.
I like senior behaviour they're more friendly may be because college is strict about ragging but this makes good compatability.
There is not any type of gender discrimination all are Free to do anything like participating in any club or group you like.

Dislikes

Firstly as I'm not regular school going boy so I don't like burden of attendance so for me there is atleast 60% must or proxy type things. because college students need some space for exploring things.
As college infrastructure is good but some hostels are more good so there is need of equality I think.
Canteen things are over rated I think there is need of fixing rate of things as in outside.

Placement Experience:

I think from 5th or 6th semester students can able to eligible for placement. Don't know exact data about the company company coming but there is good placement rate. 1.3CR highest package this year branch chemical engineering. In my Branch ICE there is more than 95% placement rate.

A true life of a student at nit jalandhar

Likes

Large campus area of 155 acres having all sorts of sports facilities like basketball court,badminton,chess etc
The seniors are really helpful and there is no sign of ragging at all.
The Clubs are great and really help you indulge in various activities

Dislikes

I have one teacher who is really strict in lab work creating unecessary burden
The classmates and the overall environment is depressing.
Every single one talks about grades cgpa etc rather than a normal talk or asking each others health

Placement Experience:

Campus placment is good especially in the cse branch last year the highest went upto 52lpa while average increasing to 15lpa compared to 13lpa last year. The placements are offered in 4th year while internships in 3rd year.The top companies include google,microsoft,adobd etc.The percentage of students placed is really high of 91% which is consistent from past few years.My plans are to get in a big tech comapny like google or microsoft as the role of software developer.

Mechanical in NIT Jalandhar:

4-5 senior faculty members are excellent. Every ad-hock is very poor and useful in any way. Undergraduate research opportunities are limited, but you can participate in mechanical teams and learn a lot at international-level competitions and race events, or you can start your own. Self-knowledge is the only source of knowledge. If you want, you can get the most out of your knowledge and experience by leaving here. In terms of numbers, placement is excellent. For a long time, the campus has been dominated by PSUs and automobile companies. This includes excellent companies involved in the core design, the power sector, and the energy sector. They don't go there very often, but the overall placement is excellent.

CSE: Students have good grades and get good jobs as a result of the market boom. Some students are very good learners who work hard for their studies and knowledge, but this type of student is between the ages of 8 and 10. The remaining 80 people dance, sing, and participate in other activities.

ECE: Faculty members are friendly and helpful. Students are exceptional. Placements are good, and some students study the entire CSE curriculum to get the job. If you want to come here, you must choose with your mind, consider all aspects, and think wisely.
