The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the best departments at NIT Jalandhar and has been consistently performing better with time. This reflects in the continual effort of our academics, research and the quality of our students. In Mechanical Engineering, if your CGPA is more than 6 your placement is assured. This year the major recruiters were Aarti Industries Limited, Infosys and Larsen & Toubro. Around 7 students were placed this year. The placement percentage was 80.23%.

The placements for Mechanical Engineering at NIT Jalandhar are particularly lower than in other branches. The total job offers this year was 79. This year's average package was INR 7.87 LPA. The placement rate of Mechanical Engineering is 80.23%.

The highest Package secured by one of my classmates was INR 9.2 LPA in FuturesFirst (Trading). Some were selected by Deloitte USI offering 6.2 LPA (Consulting) followed by Saint Gobain offering 6 (Shift Engineer+marketing) and many more.

Basically, almost everyone from EE was able to get placed at good firms with good packages. In Fact, some big companies like Samsung, HSBC, Texas Instruments, and Oracle visited for students with software profiles but one of us had actually developed proficiency in it.

NIT Jalandhar has a good placement record for its Computer Science Department. Many top companies from various sectors like IT, Consulting, Finance, E-commerce, and others visit the campus every year for recruitment.

In the 2021 placement season, Computer Science Department at NIT Jalandhar witnessed a placement record of 100% for both B.Tech and M.Tech students. The average package offered to B.Tech students was around Rs. 9.4 lakhs per annum, while the average package for M.Tech students was around Rs. 7.5 lakhs per annum. The highest package offered to a B.Tech student was Rs. 42 lakhs per annum, while the highest package for M.Tech students was Rs. 16 lakhs per annum.
