Likes

I liked how the faculty focus on each and every student for their growth.
Greenery in the campus is a plus point for me.
I liked the annual fest UTKANSH of the college which is in APRIL of each year.

Dislikes

Faculties could be more experienced I feel.
Campus is small if compared to other National institutes of India
College is far away from the main city which makes it very isolated.

Course Curriculum Overview

I did my btech in electronics and communication engineering, but I had my interest towards Artificial Intelligence branch hence wanted to do masters in this branch.The curriculum prepares us well to enter to corporate world or entering to ateaching profession or even if we want to continue for higher studies like PHD

Class Size: 28Course Fees: INR 80000 per year

Placement Experience

Teh campus placements are not that good for this course. It's good for BTECH students but for Mtech it is not at par. Till now for my batch hardly 5-6 companies came for internship out of which hardly 4 took the candidates.

Fees and Financial Aid

In first semester I paid around 80000 tution fee while in 2nd sem it was 77000 same for the third and fourth semester as well. This is for the general category students it may vary for other categories. Like for SC/ ST category they were provided i guess 50% discount , although not sure about it.

Campus Life

Campus Life is not that great here, but as I am not staying in hostel and get to go back home in evening it's fine for me but with rest to hostellers I feel campus is very small and far away from city making it a inconvenience. There's a nnual fest organised in April of each year which is quite good to enjoy campus life.

Admission

I actually applied to a lot of NITS and IITS across India. Like IIT JODHPUR, HYDERABAD, PATNA , NIT KURUKSHETRA, HAMIRPUR, CALICUT etc. I didn't cleared for IITS but got almost admitted to all Nits I have applied for. I chosed NIT Jalandhar because it's in my hometown and I felt I'll get more Comfortable here.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is 1:28 , faculties do focus individually on each student and it's very easy to approach the faculties. Satbir sir is the best faculty of the college I felt. There are mid and end semester exams from each semester. Around 80% get to pass those examinations.

Night Life

There are few cafeterias in the campus , there's a quite well gym as well in the campus however there timings are restricted for girls. The campus has a old central library which is not that good but it has a study room which is quite good equipped with air conditioners and all. Night life is fine depending on your friend circle but there's not a lot to rome around

Placement Experience:

if there are no backlogs student first gets a chance to be placed at a good company as an intern after 2 sem internship usually is for 3 & 4 sem. College makes sure you get a great company with high stipend and ppo offer also. after the internship completion either the student get placed at the same company or the placement drive also begins from 3 sem only where you can apply and get interviews with the organization

You will get many opportunities to furnish yourself as the faculty members are too supportive. You will get to know many conference on daily basis that can upheld your boost and make you morally supportive. Doing masters there would lack of strictness as they thought your are grown up, they considered you only for exams and other circulum activities. University should seriously take in action the role their teachers are playing as they sometimes bunk many classes. Exams are not that tough as you would require basic knowledge of your subject.

Life at NIT Jalandhar : A comprehensive student perspective

I applied to several institutions including NIT Jalandhar, NIT Srinagar and UIET Hoshiarpur And Pec Chandigarh But choose NIT Jalandhar due to its robust placement record well recognised NIT brand and strong industry connections. NIT Jalandhar offers better infrastructure, facility expertise and peer environment compared to other options I had while I got confirmed admissions from uiet Hoshiarpur and nit Jalandhar my preference for a national level campus experience and comprehensive curriculum lead me here. My JEE main rank mit nit Jalandhar's cutoff whereas I couldn't qualify for top iits due to higher cut off the admission process is straightforward students must clear JEE main participate in Jossa counselling and meet annual cut offs .The eligibility is 75% in class 12th And a valid JEE main score. I got 28102 rank in jee mains and 24576 rank in jee advanced My primary goal was to get into any iit but I can't get due to my rank if I would have got any iit o would have chosen it over In josaa counselling I got iiit bhopal cse which was quite a good option because bhopal is not so distant from home and also has good placement but it has many problems like no permanent campus and hostels etc and very high fees which I can't afford So in next round I got nit jalandhar ice over it because it is a cirtcutal branch enough options in tech and core both morover it comes with a nit tag and less fees and I want clg in north...Read More
