Likes

I loke the culture of this college students from different states live peacefully.
Genuinely the faculty of certain branches are so well educated.

Dislikes

The drainage system is not good , in rainy season there is so much problem .

Placement Experience:

There is many opportunities of placements in college , many on campus companies come to hire students companies loke l &T , jsw ,psus come for hiring for civil engineering and many startups come to hire students which give chance to students to sit in interview.

My NIT SRINAGAR

Likes

The support provided by the college and the professor
The environment facility in the campus for the study
The active participation of student also means alot in the campus

Dislikes

Roads in the college, infrastructure is not good in the college
Library is also so small needs to be big for the nit

Placement Experience:

From the starting of 4th year ,we are eligible to sit in the placement and the ratio is almost 65-70 percent percentage head and for it and cse - increff, microsoft ,make my trip ,paypal ,and visa and for civil - L&T and many sales company

My point of view on NIT Srinagar

Likes

I like the beauty and serenity of my college.
From academic point of I like that faculty is helpful and provides in dept knowledge.
Also classrooms are comfortable and have smart board which are very efficient.

For core branches on campus companies that come for placements are ONGC, IOCL, JSW, PHYSICS WALLAH, etc. and for CS and IT branches companies are microsoft (internship) ,paypal, increff, etc. We do projects in our fourth year and make presentation on that project

My opinion about nit

Likes

I like the diversity and culture of college students come from all states each festival is celebrated with fun .
The infrastructure is good providing facilities like library, amphitheatre, auditorium etc.
I like college ground where we can walk and relieve from academics

Dislikes

College infrastructure can be improved in rainy season there is water accumulation at many places , water drainage system should be there .

There are companies that come for internship like microsoft, paypal,visa and other startups . It is depend on the performance of student's projects and also important in internship from where are you doing! Like industrial internship preferred more than that of reasearch internship

A student's perspective

Likes

The college campus is very good and beautiful and it is not that big so we can commute very easily
College has students belonging to different regions of india so cultural exchange is very good
Placement services are decent faculties also help students for placements

Dislikes

There should be more educational and cultural fests
Placement cell building needs some improvement
Should involve more in inter nit tournaments and a professional coach for sports

Internships Opportunities:

Companies like vedanta oracle provide internships for assistant posts and management with on hand work experience. Projects which are given to us in 4th year with respect to each branch weather it is of research project orr a process model helps in getting internships

The life of student at NIT Srinagar

Likes

I like the discipline of college , everything works in disciplined manner regarding academics or cultural activities.
My campus life is good , I have good bonding with my teachers as well as my batchmates, faculty here is very supportive .
The teaching method of teachers varies, some teachers prefer teaching by writing on smart board , some by just dictating, some from ppt.

Dislikes

I want that college infrastructure can be improved more , the authorities should pay attention to that and spend money to renovate.

Placement Experience:

The college placemts is good the average is areound 10lakh per annum , the comapnies that visit for placements and internships are VISA , MICROSOFT, PAYPAL, GOLDMANSACCHS, NVIDIA, CISCO, WIPRO , L&T , PHYSICS WALLAH, INCREFF , other startups etc. My plan is to crack on-campus placement from a good company.

NIT Srinagar - A Beautiful place but Underwhelming Experience

Likes

Most likeable thing would be the competition i felt around me.
The campus is scenically really beautiful.
You get ample holidays like the semesters are for around 4 months so you get 4 months break in a year( 2-3 during winter breaks and 1 around summers/ after end sem)

Dislikes

Academically you had to do almost everything on your own , you will rarely like 1/10 times find a teacher who you like.
The teaching methods were not anything you would find likeable.
Placements are a joke, they inflate the numbers so much that one feels shocked. Good companies rarely visit and even if they do the pay is not what one would like to work for so you will have to work yourself to grab some opportunities outside.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.

NIT Sringar is beautiful!!

Some of the brightest mind students study here and that's what has made this place livable.
At most colleges professors are sort of dictators but here they are coolest.
If there's one NIT that has fire power to change the world, it's ours.

Dislikes

Local students get involved in a lot of protests and asks outsiders like us to join the same.

Marshal the placement resources so well that our college has close to 90% placement records. Siemens, ABB and such companies where ECE engineers can contribute are the companies that hires us and the average for our ECE branch is 6 lakhs or so.

Likes

the campus is beautiful and the mountains are look so good in winter.
the faculty members in the campus are highly qualified with amazing skills which will help every student to grasp concepts of topic in a consice way.
the teachers are so good and they try so hard to make students give maximum output to pass semester exams.

Dislikes

in this college mainly students faced the problem of lack of experience because most of our teacher is on contract or m.tech pass out.
students are does not able to get a good way for internships and the branches like chemical and metallurgy have a very low placements opportunities for students
the students of first year are generally called by seniors and have to do dance.

Internships Opportunities:

Yes the college is provides the better internship opportunities as compare to others . in the 2nd and 3 rd year students are able to grap internships of nearly 50 to 75 thousands rupees in a month. the college help students to take it. various companies arrive in campus to provide internship and make students industry ready.

Is Nit Srinagar worth it?

Likes

The weather condition of mine college was good , Faculty was so supporting well stablished labs and classrooms
Non teaching staff was also good and supportive
campus was small so easy to access all college was easy

Dislikes

College canteen must be improved surely as soon as possible.
Mess facilities must be Monitered and cafe should be more professional
Campus was too short and sports facility must be improved

No campus internships were availabe in instituete students have to find there own interns ya but professors help to get with there network and refrence in the last year of college there is compulsary project which helps to show what you learned and impliment in real life.
