Mess fees is 20000 for 1 semester. And hostel fees is 12000 per semester.being a candidate from sc community the education fees is 0. So fees per year is 64000. My friends with general category are paying 160000 as education fees.

The NIT Srinagar review

Fees and Financial Aid:

I pay around 80000 per semester , I pay around 18500 hostel fees per semester and mess fees also 20000 per semester, the fess for other categories like sc , st and obc is generally less like around 40000 per semester. There is scholarship for first year students having income less than 1 lakh.

There are two semester per year and in one semester mess fess is 20000and the acadmics or the semester fees is 81000 and it is also vary according to the catagory of the student and total of 162000 as the total fee

I pay 81000 per semester but students with category pay less than that they pay around 40000 per semester. Scholarship is provided to 1st year students having income less than 1 lakh and category too .

1st year :- Registration fee (one time) : 6500 Caution money : 12000 One time mess registration fee : 1000 Tution fee : 0 Institution fee : 21000 Hostel fees : 16000 Mess fees : 40000 Total : 96500 2nd year :- Institution fee : 21000 Hostel fees : 16000 Mess fees : 40000 Total : 77000 3rd year :- Institution fee : 21000 Hostel fees : 16000 Mess fees : 40000 Total : 77000 4th year :- Institution fee : 21000 Hostel fees : 16000 Mess fees : 40000 Total : 77000 Total fees for four years : 327500 *This is the fees for students with income less than 96000. *For students with income more than 5 lakhs there is a tution fees of 125000 per year *For students with income between 1 to 5 lakhs there is a tution fees of 41500 per year *For sc/st category students there is no tution fees for whole course There is a NSP scholarship based on merit cum need with 120000 per year. *For general category students with income more than 5 lakhs there is tution fees

Exploring Nature And College Life

Fees and Financial Aid:

I used to pay total of 77000 per year, which includes my semester registration fees(18500) and hostel fee(20000). Since I am ews student so I don't have to pay the tuition fees. So sc, st, ews, obc, candidates don't need to pay tuition fee. They got waiver

The life of student at NIT Srinagar

Fees and Financial Aid:

There is semester system in my college per semester fees for general category is 80k and for sc, st, obc and gen-ews it is around 38k . There is scolarship for good students who secured goo marks in 11th and 12th also scholarship is there for the category students who have income less than 1 lakh in first year , scholarship amount is 5ok to 1lakh.

NIT Srinagar - A Beautiful place but Underwhelming Experience

Fees and Financial Aid:

The per semester fees to be paid was 67 thousand which was later revised close to around 90 thousand for newer batches. Everythingh was included in this amount like library fees , tution, caution(7-8 thousand in total paid during first year). For students availing any reservation benifits the fee per semester was significantly low like for SC/ST students it was around 6-8 thousand per semester. Scholarships as such cant be availed for general category students , however if you come through some reservation a one time scholarship was given of around 80 thousand rupees.

NIT Sringar is beautiful!!

NIT Srinagar is the best NIT among the NITs that are in valley. The fees is also the lowest as just 80000 fees and hostels are also cheap here. Every year though fees increases by some percent but still manageable.
