08 Sep, 2025 NIRF Ranking 2025 has been released on September 4, 2025. VNIT Nagpur secured the following positions:

#86 out of 200 under “Overall Category”

#44 out of 300 colleges under “Engineering Category”

#10 out of 40 colleges under “Architecture & Planning Category”

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur is one of the premier engineering and research institutions in India. VNIT Nagpur has ranked 82nd position on overall category with a score of 48.15 and 41st position in engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2023. The score seems to have improved over the last 5 years.

After analysing, the institution ranking from multiple ranking portals, it can be seen that ranking range of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology in between 22- 27 except the Chronicle ranking (#6/75). VNIT: An honest review

Likes

college has a lot of fests and competitions

Dislikes

very strict academically, lots of lab work and journal work
hostel infra like bathrooms and washrooms are very bad
mess food is bad with many times insects and bugs found in food

Internships Opportunities:

students can apply to on campus internships from the end of the 4th sem, with the college even providing sem long internships as well (if credit requirement is complete) many people in college have interned in companies like oracle, google, accenture, morgan stanley etc

Honest and Complete review of VNIT nagpur

Likes

Here, in VNIT campus life is great. Starting from many types of Clubs and fests like aarohi IG DG etc make it cheerful for us.
Aarohi is one of the best events in VNIT for First year students as each club of VNIT is going to participate into it
The Mentors and seniors are very helpful here. No sign of ragging can be found here

Dislikes

Despite of coming into 7th position in all NITs. It's T&P cell suffers to meet students expectations.

Internships Opportunities:

Tech Job roles - Google Microsoft Amazon Wipro accenture Goldman sachs and stc Core Job roles - BSNL Indian petroleum NTPC and others Fintech and Consultancy companies are also there. Goldman sachs which pays highest package in fintech roles.

My Experience at VNIT Nagpur

Likes

I liked the location of collage it is based in IT Park of Nagpur which is very prime location.
The campus is very well maintained and lush green
The Mentorship is also good we get 3rd year mentors for 2 years and they guide us till the end of 2nd year

Dislikes

There is No Branch change option from 2025

Internships Opportunities:

According to new education policy there is institutes responsibility to help students to get internship opportunities after 2nd year ther are many roles offered in intership such as junior developer and junior Data Analyst roles

Likes

The campus life is very good and the diverse people you meet from different parts of the world are amazing
The lab Infrastructure and the buildings related to academics are very up to date
More priority is given to student learning and the boys to girls ration is decent

Dislikes

The hostel infrastructure could have been better
The in time for boys is early and bathrooms are not clean
Mess food is not that good in taste and the quality of food is compromised

Internships Opportunities:

There are various companies which offer internships with paid and unpaid internships the various roles offered under internship type and training, assistant manager, project manager, et cetera, et cetera Companies like Siemens have opened a lab in collaboration with VNIT that provide the students a chance to work with world classic equipment with top class professionals Students can take part in various projects like a club in VNIT equal velocity that has represented the college at a national level and has secured laurels

THE campus is vely lush green ,amazing and theres a lot to explore lot
The college clubs and activities which i heard are very well-known and Amazing
The sports complex gym,facilities multisports activities are very good

Dislikes

The college gender ratio is notthat appealing
There is a lot humidity and even though there is very greenery but the air is very less
Strict 75% attendance is what i think can be decreased

Internships Opportunities:

There are many internship facility in which you get to work in iits and iim and many other companies the stipend and not very high but you can expect 15 to 20 thousand avg per monts . You can have a 2 month internship 4 month internship 6 month internship and 1 year internship as per your choice .

An Honest Review

Likes

The first thing I like about the college was the lush green college campus which is very beautiful. The campus is alive 24 hours.
All the Faculties have very good way of teaching and highly qualified.
I also like the Mentorship programme of my college which is not in all colleges. In which few third year seniors were the mentors of first years to guide them.

Dislikes

First thing I don't like about the college was In time of boys in first year which is 8 pm during my time.
Second thing I don't like about my college is that the labs are not renovated currently it is still old.
Third thing I don't like about my college was the Hostel message facility which should be improvised.

Placement Experience:

The Campus placement of VNIT Nagpur is good enough. Students of 7th and 8th semesters are elegible for campus placement. Many companies visited in the campus some prominent names were google, Microsoft, amazon, Goldman Sachs, and many core companies such as bajaj, HPCL,BPCL etc. the number of offers made was 760 in 2024 and placement percentage was around 80 percent.

My life at VNIT

Likes

Good infrastructure facilities : well equipped labs and classes
Good campus environment, lush green 250 acres of campus
Good hostel and gym facilities, clean mess and food also decent

Dislikes

Students will not get proper support from the lecturers
Professors centric college, the opinion of the students not considered
Fines will be imposed on students even for small issues like birthday parties

Many companies like John Deere, accenture and many more offered the internships for different roles. The average salary they provided is 30 to 40k per month. Many projects related to real world are done while completing the internships .

Likes

Campus is so beautiful and filled with greenery and infrastructure is so good
Girls to boys ratio is something around 3:7
Faculty is top notch, well behaved and supportive .

Dislikes

Poor managements in some events otherwise it is good
Other things are good and the place is so good near Lake .
VNIT still follows old curriculum in some departments .

Internships Opportunities:

So talking about internship . The college is filled with internships opportunity so many people got offcampus internship and on campus too for on campus intern so many companies gonna come. Just be prepared with you resume . Companies will come in 3rd year inclunding google , microsoft , visa , arista , adobe , tcs , capegeminj, goldman sach offeing 1.5 lakh per month . You can apply for core and non core intern ship there so beautiful prepare with both . Otherwise depends on you in which field u want to go .if you opt for tech internship then do atleast 2 projects like web dev , ai/ml kr any core project would help .

There are many compnies visited for internship such as kpit, bosch, dral, and some goverment agencies.the stipned during internship is minimum 20000 per month to 55000 per month provided and internship range vary compney to compney from 2 months to 12 months.

Likes

Lush green campus with full of greenary and peaceful environment.
Hostels and campus facilities are good and classes of each department looks great with all facilities.
Good placements for circuital branches like Cse, Ece, Eee

Dislikes

Mess food was not upto the mark. We need to adjust about the food
Not great placement for branches like chemical, metallurgy, mining
Attendance criteria is strict for some departments.

Internships Opportunities:

We get companies for intership opportunity from 5th semester till end of 6th semester. Companies : DE Shaw, Google, Oracle, hilti, Natwest, goldman sachs, john deere. All these offer SD Inter, trainee role.
