Yes I am paid first semester fees . And according to vnit nagpur sc student have to pay one time fees for four year which will refund after four and other fees that I have to pay and mess and hostel fees we have to pay separately which is 32150. I don't have any scholarship now but later I will try to get scholarships

There is No Branch change option from 2025

Fees and Financial Aid:

The yearly fees for general candidate in VNIT is 150950/- for which 125000/- is tuition fees and 15500/- is one time fees for new addmission and 10450 /- is other fees. And for SC,ST and PWD students there is no tution fees they have to just pay other fees which is 10450/- and one time fees 15500/- only at the time of addmission. There is a tuition fees of 62150 for first year students of general category along with which if you opt for hostels it is charged 32150(boys). Maximum of the other fees like lab fees and all are included in the tuition fees . Rest of the fees are not that much. For sc students there is no tuition fees (first year) only one time fees is paid by them. There is a provision of remittance of tuition fees for ncl students.

Total fees per year would be around 1,35,000 rupees which includes all fees such as caution fees, registration fees, admission fees, development fees,lab fees,and other compulsory charges, library fees etc.for SC and ST category students there is zero academic fees. Mostly all central government scholarship are valid here but most students take benefit was of fee remission of institute where financially weaker students get the fee remission.

The total tuition fees of Vnit is around 6 to 6.5 lacs.The tuition fees for each semester is around 66,000 . SC / ST need not to pay any fees.They will get complete fee waiver. Fee waiver will be also given based on the income of parents.If the income is below 1 lac ,total fee will be waived off and if income is between 1 lac to 5 lacs , 75 percent of the fees will be waived off . There are no merit based scholarships provided.

Here is the academic and hostel fee detail for B.Tech students of SC/ST category at VNIT Nagpur-

SC/ST/PwD students get complete relief from B.Tech tuition fee at VNIT Nagpur. They have to pay a one-time charge of Rs. 15,500 during admission. This includes library deposit, caution deposit, fee for identity card, etc. Other than that, they have to pay Rs. 4350 per semester for various campus facilities. This amount includes registration fee, library fee, sports fee, student activity fee, etc.

They have to pay the complete hostel fee. This fee is Rs. 77,300 (1st year), Rs. 75,800 (2nd year), and Rs. 79,800 per year (for the rest of the years). Some charges from the hostel fee are subject to individual expense, so refunds are made accordingly.

VNIT Nagpur is one of the most expensive NITs, and its hostels are at par with private college hostels.

The new NBCC constructed hostels have been functional for a few years.The hostels are provided with a TV room and a Table Tennis room. Each hostel room has high speed LAN ports.

The mess food is nowhere close to home cooked meals, but it is better than the one offered by tiffin services. North Indian and South Indian staples are served in the menu, along with some dishes from the Marathi cuisine.

The hostel administration and mess contractors aren’t student friendly at all, but you’ll learn to manage things with time. The hostel fee is on an average, Rs. 32,700 per sem. You can expect a refund of around Rs. 5-10k for an academic year.

Thus, you can expect a decent stay at the VNIT hostels.
