Which is better, VNIT for metallurgy or NIT Raipur for IT?

One of my acquaintances who has graduated from VNIT has asked me to choose my institute by keeping the following points in mind. VNIT for metallurgy would be a suitable choice for you if you don’t have a particular liking. Apart from that, the metallurgy of VNIT holds an enviable position in India. The syllabus for metallurgy is vast and involves a lot of memorization. If you want CS and unfortunately end up not getting it, the next logical step would be to choose IT. The syllabus of IT and CS are almost the same. In the big picture, it will have little importance if you complete your B.Tech from VNIT or NIT Raipur. You will have a degree and you will not regret the decision you made. IT has a lot of scopes. Later down the road, if you want to continue with your higher studies, you will be capable of switching to almost any department pertaining to computers. IT from NIT Raipur is an excellent choice. The scope in the metallurgy sector is limited nowadays. It is obviously your call, though. There is vast scope in IT like research, job, etc.

Which is good, MME from VNIT or ETC engineering from IIEST Shibpur?

VNIT, Nagpur and IIEST, Shibpur are two prime institutes of the nation and rank highly. Each has its own unique attractions and disadvantages. MME and ETC are highly demanded courses. While IIEST offers 64 seats for ETC, VNIT offers 115 seats for MME. NIRF has ranked IIEST at 21 whereas VNIT ranked at 27 among the NIRF Rankings About the courses: ETC graduates can work in various government jobs and a variety of development centers dealing in sales, manufacture, and services of electronics & communication customer appliances. Admission: The admission to both institutes is done on the basis of rank secured in the national level entrance examination i.e. JEE Main. To be eligible for admission, one must secure 75% marks in aggregate in their intermediate graduation. Placement Statistics IIEST: The highest package offered to IIEST students was INR 39.12 LPA. 61.9% of the ETC students were placed. Some major companies that recruit students from IIEST are Accenture, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, Microsoft, Maruti, and PWC. VNIT: The highest package offered in campus placements was 22 LPA. 50% of the MME students were placed in recruitments. Top recruiters at this institute include L&T ECC, Reliance Industries, Deloitte, JP Morgan, Aditya Birla Group. Facilities IIEST: The institute offers facilities such as halls of residence, Library, Labs, Canteen, School, etc. It also provides medical facilities like hospitals and ambulances, sports and games clubs, and entrepreneurship activities. VNIT: Students are offered Hostels, Guesthouse, Gymnasium, Sports, Health Centre, and Library facilities within the 215 acres campus. There are clubs and community shops as well. Students must compare both the programs and colleges carefully. The decision depends on an individual’s capabilities and expectations from college life.

Vnit review form 1 st year students

Yes I am paid first semester fees . And according to vnit nagpur sc student have to pay one time fees for four year which will refund after four and other fees that I have to pay and mess and hostel fees we have to pay separately which is 32150. I don't have any scholarship now but later I will try to get scholarships

There is No Branch change option from 2025

The yearly fees for general candidate in VNIT is 150950/- for which 125000/- is tuition fees and 15500/- is one time fees for new addmission and 10450 /- is other fees. And for SC,ST and PWD students there is no tution fees they have to just pay other fees which is 10450/- and one time fees 15500/- only at the time of addmission. And there is scholarship for EWS or OBC Students based on there parents income if the family for any EWS/OBC Student is under 1 Lakh there will be full refund of tution fees which is 125000/- and any EWS/OBC Student whose family income is above one lakh and under 8 lakh there will be 2/3 fee waiver.

Strict 75% attendance is what i think can be decreased

Well i dont need to pay tution fee that is 35000 , but i payed 20000 for pre addmission fee included 15000 causion fee and 5000 other fees. For Gen and OBC they have to pay full fee which is 64000. There are many scholarship in college but you can avail only one of them for example scholarship for tution fee Scholarship for hostel Scholarship for laptop and maany more

VNIT- The paradise as well as hell

Per semester fees is 133000 as tuition fee. for SC ST and PWD students there is 100% fee waiver and hence no tuition fee but they have to pay the hostel fees if and only if they are opting for it.For general obc or ews students with parental income less than 500000 , they get 67% fee waiver. But at the start of the each semester they have to pay the entire fees and at the end they get refund of 67% fees. hostel fees is 64500 per year for everyone. But everyone can get an educational loan from SBI VNIT branch ver easily so there should be no financial issues.

In my college as I am general category student, so I have to give full fees of about 800000 whereas other students who belong to SC or ST category and also whose family income is below 100000 have to give 0 academic fees .

M I have to pay full fees that is nearly 140000 while the fees payed by sc st is just 10000. This is something we can't do anything with fees but there should some fee remission according to the income of parents

Overall college review of VNIT, Nagpur with all the important details.

Fee for each semester for all the years is around 66k. And hostel fees is around 41k per semester. Fee remission about 100% can be availed if annual income of family is less than 1 lakh per annum. And 2/3 fee remission can be availed if under 3 lakhs.

My first year experience at Vnit Nagpur

Visvesvaraya national Institute of technology nagpur is a tier 1 nit and being a national Institute it's fees are very nominal for btech. Per semester, it's around 67750 rupees as the tuition fees for general students. For obc and ews it's only 1/3rd pf this and for sc , st it's completely free. It includes a caution fee at the start of course. There are a lot of merit based scholar ships available in this Institute.
