Which should be preferred, CS at VNIT or EEE at NIT Surathkal?

You are comparing two different branches; Computer (CSE) and Electrical (EEE). If you are naturally inclined towards a particular branch, then you should choose it no matter the institute. NIRF Engineering Ranking 2020 – VNIT Nagpur is ranked 27 while NIT Surathkal is ranked 13. Academics – In this regard both are equal. Some professors are good and some are really bad. Extra-Curricular Activities – NIT Surathkal is way better than VNIT Nagpur. You will always find some activity happening on the campus. VNIT Nagpur does not have any such activities being conducted regularly. Campus location – VNIT Nagpur is actually better than NIT Surathkal. Although the Surathkal beach which is right beside the college looks good in photos, the same cannot be said in person. The VNIT Nagpur campus on the other hand is clean and green. Workshops – At VNIT Nagpur most of the workshops organized by the clubs are paid while at NIT Surathkal most of them were free and open to all. A best start to earn money

the year wise fee here is 200000 which includes 2 semesters. around 60000 to as college fees and 40000 as hostel fees for one semester is payment structure on a whole.hostel fees include mess, facilities and all related to room. for category sc and st it is 5000 . they get scholarship back into their accounts. people with income certificate get almost 70% back after each semester as refund . that money which is not used from 20000 of mess fees will be refunded back into thier respective accounts after each year. merit based scholarships are given in our college.

I pay 125000 fees every year for my institution and there is almost 110000 fees for my tuition fees and rest of the fees are of a sports development and library fees I didn't get any scholarship from anybody and my ST SC category friends have 30000 per year fees

Difficulty level of mid & end semester is decent and CGPA matters very much for placement and internships if you do regular preparation, you can maintain easily the required CGPA.

Dislikes

In VNIT EEE students hardly can get time to explore in other techinical fields to gain knowledge and experience in industrial level.
In VNIT attendance rule will be taken very strictly 75% attendance in every course is mandatory even though if you have medical reason they won't accept the excuse.
In my point of view VNIT has following the old rules without considering student problems like when you have a backlog in any course, you can't opt it in a consecutive semester and if you're opting you have to drop respective slot course in that sem.

Year wise fees for BTech in VNIT Nagpur is around 1,30,000/-Rs for General / OBC-NCL Category Student with 10 Lakh or above annual income. For General / OBC-NCL Category Student whose income is between 1 lakh and 10 lakh the 2/3rd of the fee will be reimbursed to the student account. For SC/ST & PWD Category students there will be no tution fee except some Building and Other fee like around 5k-6k/-Rs. For Reimbursement of fee to the student bank accounts , VNIT Nagpur prefers SBI/Canara Bank accounts possibly. So before joining into VNIT Nagpur try to make any Bank account out of SBI/Canara. Hostel fees (includes Mess fees also) are same for every Student irrespective of category but it may varies a little bit depending upon which hostel you are getting like single seater / double seater / triple seater. Note:- If you are opting for the fee reimbursement of tution fee in the VNIT then you should make sure that you are not applying for any scholarship/ education scheme for tution fee.

VNIT- Pros and Cons

Course projects and curriculum help in the overall knowledge of the subject. Infrastructure is developed and helps students grow.

Tuition fee is affordable. Its a bit over 1 lakh per annum and it is pretty decent compared to other colleges. A lot of scholarships are offered for students who belong to Maharashtra and who do well in their course. There are a lot of internship opportunities that can be availed over research facilities in the campus. There are a variety of placement options available for both core and IT job seekers.

My experience at VNIT

Tuition fee is fixed as it is for any NIT i.e. 62500 per sem and it doesn't change the hostel + mess charges are approximately 40000 per sem . Student gets scholarship on basis of family incomes and caste.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE IN VNIT

The tution fee ranges from Rs. 66850 to Rs. 68000 per semester. It doesn't go beyond this range. One can complete B.Tech in VNIT with approximately Rs. 900000. The biggest advantage for economically weak students is that if they provide income certificate and if the income is less than 1 lakh, then they will get complete tution fee waiver. If the income is between 1 lakh to 5 lakhs, then there will be a concession of 75% of tution fee. There is no tution fee for SC/ST students. The students will also get various scholarships from government and private organisations.

Fees is 67000 for general student here and there are no tution fees for sc category and also dasa category is there for students who provide addmission on the basis of the donation.and also college set fees annual family incomes.
