NIT Agartala is a government operated technology-driven institute of higher studies. It was established in 2006. NIT Agartala has secured the 91st rank for engineering in NIRF Ranking 2023.

NIT Agartala was founded as Tripura Engineering College in 1965 and declared a National Institute of Technology (NIT) in 2006. NIT Agartala is at 17th while NIT Trichy is at 1st position among all the NIT. There are different parameters on the basis of that ranking will decide. The main factor where NIT Agartala lags is its location. Dislikes

There are so many clubs tha you cant decide at first whuch clubs to join
Some not all faculties attitide and people working in the Scholarship Section

There are many oppurtunities available . In my case, EE The college itself willl give you an internship. Also we need to do an industrial training for our coourse which is very useful for expereience. But you can apply for core as well as IT internsips and placements and all

Best technical institute in Tripura

Likes

Lush green campus, expert professors and quality education.
Furnished hostel rooms, moderate food quality.
Junior friendly campus, has many ammenities.

Dislikes

Quite far from Agartala main city (15 kms)
Slightly less startup and entrepreneur oportunities
Hectic schedule of classes and less free time.

Internships Opportunities:

The internships are training oportunities play a acrucual part in making a students industry ready, and lickily our institute has an internship cell, for its students to consult and also helps you get internships and industry trainings.

All about NIT Agartala

Likes

affordable hostel fee, i.e. 30k, which i think is ok for 4 months(1 sem = 4 months)
roads connects all the places in the campus
sports complex have is huge area, enough for all

Dislikes

poor electricity supply during rainy seasons
administration takes too long time to review, fix or maintain things

Placement Experience:

As the NIRF ranking is going high year by year, companies are coming less and giving less preffer to NITA, Previous 2 years CSE, ME, CE students got 99% placement of avg. 8 LPA and one student got 1.2 cr off campus.

Take Good intership and get PPO

As companies came here .so on campus placement become easy
Library are very large soo there is no shortage as in exam time maximum student use library .still some places left

Dislikes

The electricity is very poora here..even in exam times sometimes electricity gone ..and no backup..in rare condition they give backup for some time
Hostel food is very poora ,,sometimes its not even edible

Internships Opportunities:

Some good companies visit here ..in third year paypal come and give paid intership of 3 lakh for 2 months ..also google come in second year for intership ..jp morgon also came ,microsoft also ..and they all give paid internship

Likes

The most important thing about which i liked is campus. the faculties are well experienced . the greenery of thre college is very good.

Dislikes

Mess food is avg of the college. And the room is also not good.
The worst thing is the distance of the academic building from the hostel.

Internships Opportunities:

The internships programme I will opted in the second year of my course. Our college facilitate us with enormous and the worthy internships of wonderful companies such as Microsoft, google, siemens and the other companies.

Comprehensive curriculum with practical exposure

Likes

Campus greenery, sports facilities is very good , hostel foods are average , teachers are interactive
College there is lots of club in you can join and got some expose like some of students are doesn't have good background other curricular activities so you can improve your skills here the best club in my opinion is MUNSOC the debate club
Hostel is very good in if you are in first year and 4th year because they get the RNT hostel and this hostel is very beautiful and Aryabhatta is also there but this very old

Dislikes

Here if you want to eat veg food outside the campus or in the campus other than the mess food it is not good so veg student have very bad condition here as I felt and there is no any good canteen here only 2 small Amul parlour like in a small hut
Water hardness is more so here hairfall related issue is common
Academic section and the fee management section is needs to improve

Internships Opportunities:

As in the third year many reputed companies visit the college for internships such as cisco, fractal, accenture and others. These internship usually last for two months. In cisco the stipend offers is around 2 lakhs for two months.

My life at nit Agartala

Likes

Beautiful, spacious campus with greenery Students often mention the campus is large, lush with plants, trees and well-maintained gardens.
well-furnished and functional. The library is praised for its collection, environment, usefulness. Sports facilities are good; there’s a strong sports complex that students enjoy.
Students appreciate the cultural and technical fests — Moksha (cultural) and Aayam (technical) are especially popular. There are many clubs (technical, cultural) giving opportunities beyond academics.

Dislikes

Being located in Tripura, it's seen as relatively remote; travelling to/from is harder or more costly. Poor connectivity to major industrial hubs, which reduces chances of industrial visits/internships sometimes.
Hot and humid weather for a large part of the year is uncomfortable. Some concern about air quality, or general environmental upkeep (dust, “jungle” overgrowth, etc.) in parts of the campus.
WiFi / internet service in hostels is weak or unreliable. Limited daily data caps (e.g. ~2 GB/day) are considered insufficient for many students’ needs.

Internships Opportunities:

At NIT Agartala, internship opportunities are there but not always very structured like in some top IITs. A lot depends on the student’s own effort. Some companies do come for summer internships through campus, especially in core branches and IT-related roles, but the number is limited. Most of us try to arrange internships on our own by applying through portals like Internshala, LinkedIn, or by contacting professors and alumni. The good thing is that the institute’s name — being an NIT — helps a lot in getting responses from companies. Also, some professors guide us in getting research internships at IITs or abroad through contacts.

As a Biotechnology student experience at NIT Agartala

Likes

Things I like about my college is that social interaction is very good. There are many clubs as per your expertise you can join any clubs like dance singing coding buisness, drama , helping poor childrens , picture clicking many more.
My department faculties are very helpful and cooperative, they help us in everything,there teaching quality is very good aslo my faculty advisor has been selected to top 2% researcher of the world. So faculty is very good.
My college gives intership opportunities in many IITs and they helps us to get internships at good places and placement at IT sector is Good many companies comes every year. The boy girl ratio is 10:3

Dislikes

The college need to improve my department labs and should keep vast amount of books for my course and have to improve the mess food
It sector placement is good but my branch core placement is very less so they have to improve the placement for core branches.
The things I don't like is that my department is very far from the hostel I need to walk long distance everyday

Internships Opportunities:

Google, Amazon, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro, Intel, Capgemini, Infosys, IBM, Samsung, Oracle, and various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) like Bharat Petroleum and L&T.Core sector recruiters like Vedanta, Maruti Suzuki, and Ashok Leyland finance ICICI Bank, Amdocs, and Morgan Stanley.

Likes

I liked the college infrastructure the most and the lush green campus .
I also liked the faculty , labs and course structure of my branch and very easy semester exams.
I also liked the sports activity and clubs and cultural and societal work done by our college , like giving free education to poor student .

Dislikes

I mostly disliked the mess food sometimes , because they make it very bad sometimes .
I also didn't like the classroom because they are low standard and does match the NIT standard .
I also did not like the partiality that happens with the student who do not have strong connections with the seniors .

Internship cell of our college is active and provide internship to the students . Companies like CISCO , Mahindra , L&T etc offer internship at 10000 to 60000. Students do many projects in core as well in IT field depending on thier choice .
