The faculty, curriculum, and the institute do not matter much. That being said, NIT Raipur seems to be the best option because it has flexible attendance policies. You might lose a few marks in your TA if you skip classes often but trust me that doesn't really matter in the long run. You will be preparing yourself for something big in exchange.

The companies that visit NIT Silchar for CSE placements include- Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Samsung, Amazon, DE Shaw & Co, Deloitte, L&T Infotech, Math Works, ITC Limited, Huawei Technologies, Power Grid Corporation of India, Arcesium, Reliance Jio, Razorpay, Infosys, Capgemini, Fanatics, KLA Tencor, SAP, Lowe’s, Optum, and GO-MMT group among others.

The placements at NIT Silchar are good for Mechanical, CSE, ECE, and E&I. For Mechanical, only a handful of PSUs visit the campus, and core placements are low. The figures aren’t good for the Civil and EE branches.

I recommend researching both options and considering factors such as program curriculum, faculty, research opportunities, and job prospects before making a decision.

From what I know, ECE is a better branch than Civil in terms of job opportunities in India. However, if you consider the institutes, NIT Silchar is much better than NIT Sikkim. NIT Silchar Civil department has many experienced and qualified faculty. Usually, PSUs recruit the students of this branch, and the core jobs are limited.

I dont think you should choose NIT Sikkim ECE as it's a relatively new institute and hasn't established a strong rapport with the recruiters yet.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your personal preferences and career prospects.

The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience
