The placements are really good here top companies visit every year offer lot of packages. The placements generally starts from 7th semester and continue till end of 8th semester. Mainly the highest package is offered by tech companies and last year it was about 52 LPA. The average package is about 14LPA for Electronics and Instrumentation branch. And 52 LPA is highest. Both core and Tech companies often like to visit in the campus. Approx 85% students got placed throughout the college. Most probably from 7th Semester students are eligible for the campus placement. I am loving it! I love meeting more and more people.

Placement Experience:

As per our seniors and professors, placements are quite good here. EIE (Electronics and Instrumentation), CSE, EE and ECE have more IT sector jobs, ME and CE have scope for core jobs but a high CGPA is required for them, and that's why mostly people go for tech companies after maintaininig a decent CGPA of >= 7.5, could change to >= 8 in the following years. Many poeple got for civil services, GATE and other competitive exams, some go for further studies: national and foreign both. Highest placement would be around 50 LPA for some tech company and average would be 10-11 LPA. Students get eligible for campus placement in the 4th year, subject to having no active backlogs, and having an CGPA >=7.5 as of yet. In the third year, everyone must complete an internship, being it indsutrial or research based. It is recommened for 2 internships in these 4 years. My plans are to sit for placements in the core sector, and do a lot of thigs all together so let me see what happens, we'll change accordingly.

The placements are very good in NIT Silchar which makes it a highly preferred college by most engineering aspirants. There is mandatory industry exposure which can be done through internships at the end of 2nd year or in 3rd year. High number of companies visit the campus each year including tech as well as core companies. Highest package goes as high as 60LPA and average is 13LPA. Majority of the students get placed and the others opt for higher studies. I will be preparing for placements and try to secure a job through campus placements

Companies that visit our college were Amazon,ZS,Wipro,Deloitte,Tata Motors,Jindal,Flipkart,Sigmoid and many more. The highest package is 52 lakh and average is 12 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students getting placed is above 90 percent for cse department and above 80 percent for core branches. Here eie placement is also decent its better than electrical department .

It is difficult for me to say which department is better NIT Silchar Civil and NIT Sikkim ECE as both have their own strengths and weaknesses. I recommend researching both options and considering factors such as program curriculum, faculty, research opportunities, and job prospects before making a decision.

From what I know, ECE is a better branch than Civil in terms of job opportunities in India. However, if you consider the institutes, NIT Silchar is much better than NIT Sikkim. NIT Silchar Civil department has many experienced and qualified faculty. Usually, PSUs recruit the students of this branch, and the core jobs are limited.

I dont think you should choose NIT Sikkim ECE as it's a relatively new institute and hasn't established a strong rapport with the recruiters yet.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your personal preferences and career prospects.
