- You have to travel several kilometres away from college for shopping like things because our college is 30 kilometres from Guwahati. You can go either mirza or VIP market also. Both are just 5-6 kilometres away in opposite directions with our college

Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) is an institution of National Importance under an Act of Parliament (THE INDIAN INSTITUTES OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP) ACT, 2017). It offers B.Tech. courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE), M.Tech. courses in CSE and ECE and runs PhD programmes in ECE, CSE, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). IIITG started operations in August 2013 with B.Tech programmes in CSE and ECE. The first batch of B.Tech. students completed their programme in May 2017. The first convocation of the Institute was held on May 15 2018. Why IIIT Guwahati? The Institute has shifted to its permanent campus in July 2018. Students are staying in the hostels inside the campus. Most of the faculty members are staying in the faculty residence within the campus itself. The campus is located on a 67 acre plot, 5 km from Guwahati airport, on the National Highway. Director: Prof. Sarat Kumar Patra Director of NIT Agartala is the Director in charge of the Institute. Placement: IIIT Guwahati had a successful placement session in 2023-24 with an average package of 14.88 lakhs per annum (approximately). Some of the companies where our students got placed are Amazon, Atlassian, Blackbasil, Cisco, D. E. Shaw, Deloitte, DeltaX, Devtron, Exeevo, Flipkart, GE Digital, Hugosave, MAQ, Microsoft, Mindtickle, Morgan Stanley, Nvidia, Samsung, TA Digital, TCS, Unistring, Versa Network, ZS, ZScalar. The selection process for some companies is still going on. Many final year students have also pursued full semester internships in reputed organizations like Amazon, Blackbasil, Bosch, Cisco, D. E. I choose IIIT Guwahati Because it has a good placement record and i liked the location where it is located. It has good environment and I got this college through JEE mains rank. As per my rank and college criteria i got this college. If any student need to join in this college, every student need to write JEE mains and the rank should match the college rank cut off criteria.

Jee mains is the only way to get into this college. The application process is pretty simple, get your JEE scorecard and participate in the counseling process online. By following trends, you can get CSE at the 98 percentile and ECE at the 96 percentile ( for the general category). For category students, the cutoff is below 90.

Mainly two exams per semester, mid sem and end sem exams, there are quiz also in between the mid semester and and semester exam the midsem and the end sem exam is quite medium level or we can say hard level exams but the quiz is little bit easy

I had appeared for jee advanced in year 2022 and cleared it with all imdia rank of 516 and got alloted iit guwahati. Elligiblity to appear for the jee advance is to have cleared the 12 class with atleast 75 percent and clear the cut-off for jee mains. The overall level of jee advanced is very difficult.

IIITG runs the Ph.D. program with 7 disciplines for regular, sponsored, and part-time students. Applicants who have passed ME/M.Tech in apt specialization with minimum 60% marks or BE/ B.Tech Degree in relevant discipline with at least 65% marks are considered eligible to get admission in CSE/ ECE disciplines of Ph.D. program. Students seeking admission to Economics discipline must have passed an MA in Economics with a minimum of 60% marks. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission in English is an MA in English with at least 55% marks, for Linguistics discipline is an MA in Linguistics with a minimum of 55% marks, for Mathematics minimum eligibility criteria is an M.Sc/ M.Tech in Mathematics with an minimum 60% marks, and for Political Science is MA in Political Science with minimum 60% marks. Eligible candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their academic performance and their selection for admission is done based on their marks obtained in the written test and personal interview conducted by the Institute
