Faculty:

The faculty members are very cooperative. professors can speak fluent english so there are no language barriers among students and faculty. They are well educated and well disciplined. They are very much cooperative as they help the students to get an internship at different recognised companies like Google Amazon etc the faculty members are so much helpful as they provide their personel email and phone number and we can contact them even at night 2 am too

Some faculty members are good in the topic explanation and are good in doubt solving but some of the faculty members are too hurry in explanation and are not so good in the explanation of doubts but maximum people try to explain it

The faculty in our college are really good. They are highly qualified and some of the faculty are in the top 2% in the world. The relation of student faculty is good as we can ask our doubt and they are always ready to solve our doubts. The exam pattern is mainly 3 types 1. Mid sem 2. Minor Test 3. End sem

NIT SILCHAR? WORTHED!!

Student Snaps:

The faculty and student interaction is great. In a class of 80, the professors manage to maintain and give importance to each. Each group of 40, gets a professor assigned, called the faculty advisor who is there to lookafter every academic and non academic issues. Throughout the semester, there are 3 important exams, the midsems, minors and endsems. There can be additional projects and classtests in the 1st year depending on the faculty in charge. And most of the subjects can be easily covered with class notes and rest can be prepaeed from youtube. Subjects like Electronics and Mechanics are hard to score and pass.

Every faculty gets almost 2 to 3 ug classes so the faculty and students ratio is good I don't like the maths faculty Mr BHS Raju sir because he is too rude I like mechanics faculty because he teaches us well There are lab exams, endsem ,midsem,minor they are moderate nearly 10 students fail to clear exams

Workload is very more . There are more than 25 lectures in a week

In this nit there are approx strength of 900 students from btech of one batch. Students Teacher ratio is 1:80 including all the batches. Mid Semester, Minor Test, End Semester are exams happened in the college. Teachers are helpful in nature. Exams level is moderate .Rajarshi Pramanik Sir is our course coordinator which is very helpful in nature.

Comprehensive Review of NIT Silchar

The faculty to student ratio for first year is abysmal but as the course goes on it becomes better. I cannot comment much as I myself am studying in first year but I heard from my seniors that after first year it is going to be very intresting. The exams are moderate. Just cram a week before exams and you'll pass

Holistic Hostel Experience NIT silchar

Some professor are very good .they teach us very intestine manner . They motivate student to do research work . For good engineer.

The faculty and student ration is good around more than 200faculty in our collage. The relationship between student and faculty is intractive. If out facilty is free then we free to meet . I like a professor whose name is dr.neelkamal sir because they working in research consultancy which encourage us to do research work for a good engineer. I don't like purshotam sir because they don't know the way to teaching.and fail to make understand in a semester three exam are begin taken the level of Paper is moderate overall.

Some teachers are superb, they add life to the subject, but can't say the same for others

There are minors, mid semester exams and end semester exams. End sems are of 2 hrs and carry 50 marks each, mid sems are of 1 hr each and carryt 30 marks, the minors depend upon he professors and could range from 0 to 20 marks. Some professors are really good at teaching, some are mediocre and some are just getting the salary. If someone makes you dislike the subject, read a book about that course and try imagining how it would apply to your life, if then also you can't undersdtand it, just try to read it for clearing the exams. The toughness of the exams are dependent on the professors too. My first semester exams were easy but I didn't study and managed to get an F grade in Mathematics 1 (MA 101) course. Don't be like me, or you can try too, it's also an experience. Don't worry, you would be able to manage once you reach college, plenty of good teachers are present, be it in the form of your friends, peers, seniors, internet or the surroundings.

Nit Silchar overview as a first year student.

The faculties are avg to be precise. Some are way too helpful and some are very strict but are always approachable. The lab faculties will never hesitate to give you full marks in your lab exams. On an avg there are 5 written exams and 3/4 lab exams along with minor tests and vivas.
